1 El juez sabio adoctrina a su pueblo, la autoridad del sensato está bien regulada.	1 A wise magistrate lends stability to his people, and the government of a prudent man is well ordered.
2 Según el juez del pueblo, así serán sus ministros, como el jefe de la ciudad, todos sus habitantes.	2 As the people's judge, so are his ministers; as the head of a city, its inhabitants.
3 El rey sin instrucción arruinará a su pueblo, la ciudad se edifica sobre la prudencia de los dirigentes.	3 A wanton king destroys his people, but a city grows through the wisdom of its princes.
4 En manos del Señor está el gobierno de la tierra, a su tiempo suscita para ella al que conviene.	4 Sovereignty over the earth is in the hand of God, who raises up on it the man of the hour;
5 En manos del Señor el recto camino del hombre, él pone su gloria en el escriba.	5 Sovereignty over every man is in the hand of God, who imparts his majesty to the ruler.
6 Sea cual fuere su agravio, no guardes rencor al prójimo, y no hagas nada en un arrebato de violencia.	6 No matter the wrong, do no violence to your neighbor, and do not walk the path of arrogance.
7 Odioso es al Señor y a los hombres el orgullo, para ambos es un yerro la injusticia.	7 Odious to the LORD and to men is arrogance, and the sin of oppression they both hate.
8 La soberanía pasa de una nación a otra, por las injusticias, las violencias y el dinero.	8 Dominion is transferred from one people to another because of the violence of the arrogant.
9 ¿Por qué se enorgullece el que es tierra y ceniza? ¡si ya en vida es su vientre podredumbre!	9 Why are dust and ashes proud? even during life man's body decays;
10 La larga enfermedad deja perplejo al médico, y el que hoy es rey fenecerá mañana.	10 A slight illness--the doctor jests, a king today--tomorrow he is dead.
11 Y cuando un hombre muere, recibe como herencia reptiles, fieras y gusanos.	11 When a man dies, he inherits corruption; worms and gnats and maggots.
12 El comienzo del orgullo del hombre es alejarse del Señor, cuando de su Hacedor se apartó su corazón.	12 The beginning of pride is man's stubbornness in withdrawing his heart from his Maker;
13 Que el comienzo del orgullo es el pecado, el que se agarra a él vierte abominación. Por eso les dio el Señor asombrosos castigos, y les abatió hasta aniquilarlos.	13 For pride is the reservoir of sin, a source which runs over with vice; Because of it God sends unheard-of afflictions and brings men to utter ruin.
14 Los tronos de los príncipes los volteó el Señor, y en su lugar sentó a los mansos.	14 The thrones of the arrogant God overturns and establishes the lowly in their stead.
15 Las raíces de los orgullosos las arrancó el Señor, y en su lugar plantó a los humildes.	15 The roots of the proud God plucks up, to plant the humble in their place:
16 Las comarcas de las naciones las arrasó el Señor, y las destruyó hasta los cimientos de la tierra.	16 He breaks down their stem to the level of the ground, then digs their roots from the earth.
17 Tomó algunos de ellos y los destruyó, y borró de la tierra su recuerdo.	17 The traces of the proud God sweeps away and effaces the memory of them from the earth.
18 No se ha hecho para los hombres el orgullo, ni el furor de la ira para los nacidos de mujer.	18 Insolence is not allotted to a man, nor stubborn anger to one born of woman.
19 ¿Qué raza es honorable? La del hombre. ¿Qué raza es honorable? Los que temen al Señor. ¿Qué raza es despreciable? La del hombre. ¿Qué raza es despreciable? Los que violan sus mandatos.	19 Whose offspring can be in honor? Those of men. Which offspring are in honor? Those who fear God. Whose offspring can be in disgrace? Those of men. Which offspring are in disgrace? Those who transgress the commandments.
20 En medio de sus hermanos es honorable el jefe, y los que temen al Señor, a los ojos de él.	20 Among brethren their leader is in honor; he who fears God is in honor among his people.
	21 Be it tenant or wayfarer, alien or pauper, his glory is the fear of the LORD.
22 Sean ricos, llenos de gloria o pobres, su orgullo es el temor del Señor.	22 It is not just to despise a man who is wise but poor, nor proper to honor any sinner.
23 No es justo despreciar al pobre inteligente, ni procede glorificar al pecador.	23 The prince, the ruler, the judge are in honor; but none is greater than he who fears God.
24 Grande, juez y poderoso reciben honores, mas no hay mayor entre ellos que el que teme al Señor.	24 When free men serve a prudent slave, the wise man does not complain.
25 Al siervo sabio los hombres libres sirven, y el hombre de saber no lo critica.	25 Flaunt not your wisdom in managing your affairs, and boast not in your time of need.
26 No te hagas el sabio cuando cumples tu obra, no te gloríes en el momento de tu aprieto.	26 Better the worker who has plenty of everything than the boaster who is without bread.
27 Más vale el que trabaja y le sobra de todo que el que anda gloriándose y carece de pan.	27 My son, with humility have self-esteem; prize yourself as you deserve.
28 Hijo, gloríate con moderación, y estímate en lo que vales.	28 Who will acquit him who condemns himself? who will honor him who discredits himself?
29 Al que peca contra sí mismo, ¿quién le justificará? ¿quién apreciará al que desprecia su vida?	29 The poor man is honored for his wisdom as the rich man is honored for his wealth;
30 El pobre es honrado por su saber, y el rico lo es por su riqueza.	30 Honored in poverty, how much more so in wealth! Dishonored in wealth, in poverty how much the more!
