1 Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè e ad Aronne, dicendo: | 1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them, |
2 « Dite ai figli d'Israele: Questi sono gli animali che voi potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie della terra. | 2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat: |
3 Dei quadrupedi mangerete tutti quelli che hanno l'unghia fessa e ruminano. | 3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant. |
4 Però quelli che ruminano e hanno l'unghia, ma non fessa, come il cammello e gli altri, non li mangerete e li conterete fra gli animali immondi. | 4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof; |
5 Così il coregrillo, che rumina ma non ha l'unghia fessa, è immondo. | 5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof; |
6 Parimente la lepre, che rumina, sì, ma non ha l'unghia fessa. | 6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof; |
7 Anche il porco, il quale ha l'unghia fessa, ma non rumina. | 7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant. |
8 Non mangerete le carni di questi animali e non toccherete i loro corpi morti, perchè per voi sono immondi. | 8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean. |
9 Ecco gli animali acquatici dei quali è lecito mangiare: tutti quelli che hanno pinne e scaglie, sia nel mare che nei fiumi e negli stagni, li mangerete; | 9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat. |
10 ma, tra gli animali che si muovono e vivono nelle acque, tutto ciò che non ha pinne e scaglie sarà abominevole per voi. | 10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable. |
11 Li avrete in esecrazione, non mangeiete le loro carni, eviterete i loro corpi morti: | 11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable. |
12 tutti gli animali acquatici che non hanno pinne e scaglie saranno impuri. | 12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable. |
13 Tra gli uccelli ecco quelli che non dovete mangiare e devono essere evitati: l'aquila, il grifone, l'aquila marina, | 13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey, |
14 il nibbio, l'avoltoio secondo la sua specie; | 14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard, |
15 ogni specie di corvo e simili, | 15 all kinds of raven, |
16 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano, lo sparviere secondo la sua specie, | 16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk, |
17 il gufo, lo smergo, l'ibi, | 17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl, |
18 il cigno, l'onocrotalo, il porfirione, | 18 ibis, pelican, white vulture, |
19 la cicogna, il carardio secondo la sua specie, l'upupa e il pipistrello. | 19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat. |
20 Tra i volatili ogni animale che poggia su quattro piedi sarà abominevole per voi. | 20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating. |
21 Però ogni animale che cammina bensì a quattro piedi, ma ha le gambe posteriori, colle quali salta sopra la terra, più lunghe, | 21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground. |
22 lo potete mangiare: tal è il bruco nella sua specie, l'attaco, l'ofiomaco e la cavalletta, ciascuno nella sua specie. | 22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust. |
23 Ma tra i volatili tutti quelli che han soltanto quattro piedi, saran per voi in esecrazione: | 23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating. |
24 chiunque toccherà i loro corpi morti resterà contaminato, e sarà immondo fino alla sera. | 24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening. |
25 Se poi sarà necessario che egli porti uno di tali animali morto, laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino al tramonto del sole. | 25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening. |
26 Ogni animale che ha l'unghia, ma non l'ha fessa, e non rumina, sarà immondo, e chi lo toccherà sarà contaminato. | 26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean. |
27 Fra tutti gli animali che camminano a quattro piedi saranno immondi quelli che camminano sopra le loro mani: chi toccherà i loro corpi morti sarà impuro fino alla sera. | 27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening, |
28 E chi avrà portato simili cadaveri laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino alla sera, perchè tutti questi sono immondi per voi. | 28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean. |
29 Tra gli animali che si muovono sopra la terra saranno annoverati fra gli immondi anche questi: la mustela, il topo, il coccodrillo, ciascuno secondo la sua specie; | 29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard: |
30 il migaie, il camaleonte, lo stellione, la lucertola, la talpa. | 30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet. |
31 Tutti questi animali sono immondi: chi ne toccherà i corpi morti sarà immondo fino alla sera; | 31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening. |
32 qualunque oggetto sul quale cada qualche cosa dei loro corpi morti resterà contaminato, vaso di legno, o veste, o pelle, o tessuto di peli che sia, per qualunque scopo è usato, si laverà nell'acqua e sarà immondo fino alla sera, ma dopo resterà purificato. | 32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean. |
33 Invece il vaso di terra dentro il quale sia caduta una di tali cose resterà contaminato e deve quindi spezzarsi. | 33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean. |
34 Ogni cibo che mangiate, se vi sarà versata sopra dell'acqua, sarà immondo; ogni liquido che si beve in qualsiasi di questi vasi sarà immondo. | 34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container. |
35 Qualunque cosa di tali bestie morte cada sopra un vaso, questo sarà immondo. Se si tratti di fornelli e di marmitte, saranno immondi e dovranno spezzarsi; | 35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean |
36 ma le fontane, le cisterne e tutti i serbatoi d'acqua saranno mondi. Chi toccherà il corpo morto di questi animali sarà immondo. | 36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean. |
37 Se ne cade sopra la semente, non la renderà immonda; | 37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean; |
38 ma se uno versa dell'acqua sopra la semente, e questa poi vien toccata da uno di questi corpi morti, sarà subito contaminata. | 38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean. |
39 Se uno degli animali, che vi è permesso mangiare, muore da sè, chi ne toccherà il cadavere sarà immondo fino alla sera; | 39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening; |
40 e chi ne avrà mangiato o ne avrà portato qualche parte laverà le sue vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera. | 40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening. |
41 Tutto ciò che striscia sulla terra sarà abominevole e non sarà usato come nutrimento. | 41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten. |
42 Di qualunque rettile, o che abbia quattro piedi o molti, o strisci sopra la terra, non ve ne ciberete, perchè è abominevole. | 42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable. |
43 Non vogliate contaminare le vostre anime, non toccate alcuna di queste cose, per non diventare immondi. | 43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them. |
44 Siccome io sono il Signore Dio vostro, siate santi, perchè io sono santo; e non contaminate le anime vostre con nessun rettile che striscia sopra la terra. | 44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground. |
45 Io sono il Signore che vi ho tratti dalla terra d'Egitto per essere il vostro Dio; e voi sarete santi, perchè io sono santo. | 45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." ' |
46 Questa è la legge intorno alle bestie e ai volatili e a tutti gli animali viventi che guizzano nell'acqua o striscian sopra la terra, | 46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground. |
47 afinchè sappiate discernere il mondo dall'immondo, e conosciate quel che dovete mangiare o rifiutare ». | 47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten. |
