Isaia 56

1 Così parla il Signore: « Osservate il diritto e praticate la giustizia, perchè la mia salvezza è vicina ad arrivare, e la mia giustizia a manifestarsi.	1 Thus says the LORD: Observe what is right, do what is just; for my salvation is about to come, my justice, about to be revealed.
2 Beato l'uomo che farà questo, e il figlio dell'uomo che vi si atterrà, osservando il sabato senza profanarlo, serbando pure le sue mani senza fare alcun male.	2 Happy is the man who does this, the son of man who holds to it; Who keeps the sabbath free from profanation, and his hand from any evildoing.
3 E il figlio dello straniero, che si unisce al Signore, non si metta a dire: « Il Signore mi ha separato del tutto dal suo popolo ». E l'eunuco non dica: « Ecco io sono un legno secco »,	3 Let not the foreigner say, when he would join himself to the LORD, "The LORD will surely exclude me from his people"; Nor let the eunuch say, "See, I am a dry tree."
4 perchè il Signore dice così agli eunuchi, a quelli che osserveranno i miei sabati ed eleggeranno quello che mi è gradito e manterranno il mio patto:	4 For thus says the LORD: To the eunuchs who observe my sabbaths and choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant,
5 « Io darò ad essi nella mia casa e dentro le mie mura un posto e un nome migliore di quello di figli e a di figlie: darò loro un nome eterno che non perirà giammai.	5 I will give, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name Better than sons and daughters; an eternal, imperishable name will I give them.
6 E i figli dello straniero, uniti al Signore, per venerarlo ed amare il suo nome, per essere suoi servi, tutti quelli che osservano i miei sabati senza profanarli, e mantengono il mio patto,	6 And the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, ministering to him, Loving the name of the LORD, and becoming his servants-- All who keep the sabbath free from profanation and hold to my covenant,
7 li condurrò alla mia santa montagna, li farò lieti nella mia casa d'orazione, i loro olocausti, le loro vittime mi saran gradite sul mio altare, perchè la mia casa sarà chiamata casa d'orazione per tutti i popo­li ».	7 Them I will bring to my holy mountain and make joyful in my house of prayer; Their holocausts and sacrifices will be acceptable on my altar, For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.
8 Dice il Signore Dio che ra­duna i dispersi d'Israele: « Radu­nerò ancora intorno a lui con quel­li già radunati ».	8 Thus says the Lord GOD, who gathers the dispersed of Israel: Others will I gather to him besides those already gathered.
9 Voi tutte, o bestie dei campi, venite a divorare, voi tutte, o fiere del bosco.	9 All you wild beasts of the field, come and eat, all you beasts in the forest!
10 Le sue sentinelle son tutte cieche, tutte senza intendimen­to; son cani muti che non sanno latrare: che vedon dei fantasmi, dormono e amano i sogni.	10 My watchmen are blind, all of them unaware; They are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; Dreaming as they lie there, loving their sleep.
11 E questi sfacciatissimi cani non sanno esser sazi. Gli stessi pasto­ri son privi d'intelligenza, ognu­no di essi va per la sua strada, ognuno al suo interesse, dal pri­mo all'ultimo.	11 They are relentless dogs, they know not when they have enough. These are the shepherds who know no discretion; Each of them goes his own way, every one of them to his own gain:
12 « Venite, tracan­niamo il vino, riempiamoci fino all'ubriachezza, e come oggi sarà domani, e molto più ».	12 "Come, I will fetch some wine; let us carouse with strong drink, And tomorrow will be like today, or even greater."
