Isaia 55

BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Sitibondi, venite tutti alle acque, ed anche voi che non avete danari, correte a comprare e a mangiare, venite a comprare senza danaro, e senza dar nulla per essi, vino e latte.	1 All you who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come, receive grain and eat; Come, without paying and without cost, drink wine and milk!
2 Perchè spendete il vostro danaro in ciò che non è pane, e la vostra fatica in ciò che non sazia? Ascoltatemi attentamente, e mangiate ciò che è buono, e l'anima vostra sarà rallegrata da cibi prelibati.	2 Why spend your money for what is not bread; your wages for what fails to satisfy? Heed me, and you shall eat well, you shall delight in rich fare.
3 Porgete il vostro orecchio e venite a me, ascoltate e l'anima vostra avrà vita, ed io farò con voi un patto eterno e le misericordie promesse a David.	3 Come to me heedfully, listen, that you may have life. I will renew with you the everlasting covenant, the benefits assured to David.
4 Ecco io l'ho donato come testimonio ai popoli, come condottiero e maestro delle nazioni.	4 As I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of nations,
5 Ecco tu chiamerai un popolo che tu non conoscevi, e le nazioni che non ti conoscevano correranno a te, per amore del Signore Dio tuo e del Santo d'Israele che ti ha glorificato.	5 So shall you summon a nation you knew not, and nations that knew you not shall run to you, Because of the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, who has glorified you.
6 Cercate il Signore quando può essere trovato, invocatelo quando è vicino.	6 Seek the LORD while he may be found, call him while he is near.
7 L'empio abbandoni la sua via, l'iniquo i suoi pensieri e ritorni al Signore che ne avrà misericordia, al nostro Dio che largheggia nel perdono.	7 Let the scoundrel forsake his way, and the wicked man his thoughts; Let him turn to the LORD for mercy; to our God, who is generous in forgiving.
8 Perchè io non penso secondo i vostri pensieri, il mio modo d'agire non è come il vostro — dice il Signore. —	8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD.
9 E come i cieli sono sopra la terra, cosi le mie vie sono sopra le vostre, i miei pensieri sopra i vostri.	9 As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts.
10 E come la pioggia e la neve discende dal cielo e non vi torna finché non abbia inebriata e fecondata la terra, e non l'abbia fatta germogliare in modo che doni il seme al seminatore e il pane a chi mangia;	10 For just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down And do not return there till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, Giving seed to him who sows and bread to him who eats,
11 così sarà della mia parola uscita dalla mia bocca: non tornerà a me senza frutto, ma opererà tutto quello che io voglio, e compirà quelle cose per le quali l'ho mandata.	11 So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it.
12 Così voi uscirete pieni di gioia e sarete condotti in pace. Le montagne e le colline davanti a voi echeggeranno d'inni, e tutti gli alberi della regione vi batteranno le mani.	12 Yes, in joy you shall depart, in peace you shall be brought back; Mountains and hills shall break out in song before you, and all the trees of the countryside shall clap their hands.
13 Nel posto del nardo selvatico s'inalzerà l'abete, e nel luogo dell'ortica crescerà il mirto. E il Signore si farà un nome, un monumento eterno che non sarà mai distrutto.	13 In place of the thornbush, the cypress shall grow, instead of nettles, the myrtle. This shall be to the LORD'S renown, an everlasting imperishable sign.
