1 (Salmo graduale). Dal profondo io grido a te, o Signore;	1 A song of ascents. Much have they oppressed me from my youth, now let Israel say.
2 O Signore, ascolta la mia voce. Siano intente le tue orecchie alla voce della mia preghiera.	2 Much have they oppressed me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed.
3 Se guardi alle colpe, o Signore, o Signore, chi potrà reggere?	3 Upon my back the plowers plowed, as they traced their long furrows.
4 Ma presso di te è la misericordia, e per la tua legge confido in te, o Signore.	4 But the just LORD cut me free from the ropes of the yoke of the wicked.
5 L'anima mia confida, perla tua parola, l'anima mia spera nel Signore.	5 May they be scattered in disgrace, all who hate Zion.
6 Dalla veglia del mattino fino alla notte Israele speri nel Signore.	6 May they be like grass on the rooftops withered in early growth,
7 Perchè nel Signore è la misericordia, ed Egli è generoso redentore.	7 Never to fill the reaper's hands, nor the arms of the binders of sheaves,
8 Egli stesso redimerà Israele da tutte le sue iniquità.	8 With none passing by to call out: "The blessing of the LORD be upon you! We bless you in the name of the LORD!"
