1 - Disse ancora il Signore, parlando a Mosè:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 «Ai figliuoli di Israele dirai così: - Se uno, tanto de' figli d'Israele quanto de' forestieri dimoranti in Israele, offrirà un suo figliuolo all'idolo Moloc, sia messo a morte. Tutto il popolo lo lapiderà.	2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,
3 Io mi metterò contro di lui, e lo reciderò di mezzo al suo popolo, per aver egli dato un de' suoi figli a Moloc, contaminato il mio santuario, e profanato il santo mio nome.	3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.
4 Che se il vostro popolo, trascurando il mio precetto, e quasi disprezzandolo, lascerà libero l'uomo che dette a Moloc un figlio suo, e non lo vorrà uccidere,	4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,
5 mi mettero io stesso contro quell'uomo e contro la sua famiglia, e reciderò di mezzo al suo popolo lui e tutti quegli che furono complici nella fornicazione con Moloc.	5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.
6 Se qualcuno si rivolgerà ai maghi ed agl'indovini fornicando con loro, io mi metterò contro di lui, e lo sterminerò di fra il suo popolo.	6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.
7 Santificatevi, e siate santi, perchè io sono il Signore Dio vostro.	7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.
8 Custodite i miei comandamenti, e adempiteli. Io il Signore che vi santifico.	8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.
9 Chi maledirà il padre o la madre, venga messo a morte; ha maledetto il padre e la madre, il sangue suo ricada su lui.	9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.
10 Se uno avrà peccato con la moglie d'un altro, commettendo adulterio con la moglie d'un suo prossimo, saran puniti di morte ambedue, l'uomo e la donna.	10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.
11 Se uno avrà dormito con la sua matrigna, recando con ciò onta al padre suo, saran messi a morte ambedue; il loro sangue ricada su loro.	11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
12 Se uno avrà dormito con la sua nuora, morranno ambedue, avendo commessa una scelleratezza; il sangue loro ricada su loro.	12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.
13 Se uno userà d'un maschio come d'una femmina, hanno fatto ambedue cosa abominevole; sian messi a morte, e il loro sangue ricada su loro.	13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.
14 Chi avendo in moglie la figlia, prenderà inoltre la madre di lei, fa cosa cosa scellerata; sarà bruciato vivo con esse, nè una tale indegnità verrà tollerata fra voi.	14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.
15 Chi si congiungerà con una bestia qualsiasi, venga ucciso; uccidete anche la bestia.	15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.
16 La donna che si sia congiunta con qualsiasi animale, venga uccisa con esso. Il sangue loro sia sopra di loro.	16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
17 Se uno prende la sua sorella, figlia del padre o della madre sua, e scuopre la sua nudità, ed essa quella di lui, hanno fatto cosa nefasta; saranno messi a morte in presenza del loro popolo, per essersi scambievolmente scoperta la propria nudità, e porteranno la pena della loro iniquità.	17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.
18 Se uno s'unirà a donna che ha il flusso mensile, scoprendo la nudità di lei, ed essa pure gli si scuopre, verranno ambedue sterminati di mezzo al loro popolo.	18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.
19 Non scoprirai la nudità della sorella di tua madre o di tuo padre; chi fa questo mette in mostra l'ignominia della propria carne, e porteranno ambedue la propria iniquità.	19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.
20 Se uno s'unirà alla moglie del proprio zio paterno o materno, scoprendo la nudità della sua parente, porteranno ambedue il proprio peccato; morranno senza figli.	20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.
21 Chi prende la moglie di suo fratello, fa cosa illecita, disonorando il proprio fratello; saranno senza figliuoli. Esortazione generale	21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.
22 Custodite le mie leggi ed i miei comandamenti, ed eseguiteli acciò anche voi non abbia a rigettare la terra nella quale entrerete ed abiterete.	22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.
23 Non vi conformate alle leggi delle nazioni che io scaccerò d'innanzi a voi. Esse han fatto tutte queste cose, e mi son diventate abominevoli.	23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.
24 Ma a voi io dico: "Abbiatevi la loro terra, che io vi darò in eredità: terra dove scorrono il latte ed il miele. Io il Signore Dio vostro, che v'ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli.	24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,
25 Anche voi dunque separate l'animale mondo da quello immondo, l'uccello mondo dall'immondo, per non macchiar l'anime vostre con animali, uccelli o quali altri esseri si muovano sulla terra, e che io v'abbia indicati come immondi.	25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.
26 Voi sarete santi al mio cospetto, perchè santo son io, il Signore, e v'ho separati dagli altri popoli acciò foste miei.	26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.
27 L'uomo o la donna che abbian lo spirito pitonico o della divinazione, sian messi a morte; li lapideranno ed il loro sangue ricadrà su loro"-».	27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '
