1 - Disse ancora il Signore, parlando a Mosè:	1 The LORD said to Moses,
2 «Ai figliuoli di Israele dirai così: - Se uno, tanto de' figli d'Israele quanto de' forestieri dimoranti in Israele, offrirà un suo figliuolo all'idolo Moloc, sia messo a morte. Tutto il popolo lo lapiderà.	2 "Tell the Israelites: Anyone, whether an Israelite or an alien residing in Israel, who gives any of his offspring to Molech shall be put to death. Let his fellow citizens stone him.
3 Io mi metterò contro di lui, e lo reciderò di mezzo al suo popolo, per aver egli dato un de' suoi figli a Moloc, contaminato il mio santuario, e profanato il santo mio nome.	3 I myself will turn against such a man and cut him off from the body of his people; for in giving his offspring to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.
4 Che se il vostro popolo, trascurando il mio precetto, e quasi disprezzandolo, lascerà libero l'uomo che dette a Moloc un figlio suo, e non lo vorrà uccidere,	4 Even if his fellow citizens connive at such a man's crime of giving his offspring to Molech, and fail to put him to death,
5 mi mettero io stesso contro quell'uomo e contro la sua famiglia, e reciderò di mezzo al suo popolo lui e tutti quegli che furono complici nella fornicazione con Moloc.	5 I myself will set my face against that man and his family and will cut off from their people both him and all who join him in his wanton worship of Molech.
6 Se qualcuno si rivolgerà ai maghi ed agl'indovini fornicando con loro, io mi metterò contro di lui, e lo sterminerò di fra il suo popolo.	6 Should anyone turn to mediums and fortune-tellers and follow their wanton ways, I will turn against such a one and cut him off from his people.
7 Santificatevi, e siate santi, perchè io sono il Signore Dio vostro.	7 Sanctify yourselves, then, and be holy; for I, the LORD, your God, am holy.
8 Custodite i miei comandamenti, e adempiteli. Io il Signore che vi santifico.	8 Be careful, therefore, to observe what I, the LORD, who make you holy, have prescribed.
9 Chi maledirà il padre o la madre, venga messo a morte; ha maledetto il padre e la madre, il sangue suo ricada su lui.	9 "Anyone who curses his father or mother shall be put to death; since he has cursed his father or mother, he has forfeited his life.
10 Se uno avrà peccato con la moglie d'un altro, commettendo adulterio con la moglie d'un suo prossimo, saran puniti di morte ambedue, l'uomo e la donna.	10 If a man commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.
11 Se uno avrà dormito con la sua matrigna, recando con ciò onta al padre suo, saran messi a morte ambedue; il loro sangue ricada su loro.	11 If a man disgraces his father by lying with his father's wife, both the man and his stepmother shall be put to death; they have forfeited their lives.
12 Se uno avrà dormito con la sua nuora, morranno ambedue, avendo commessa una scelleratezza; il sangue loro ricada su loro.	12 If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall be put to death; since they have committed an abhorrent deed, they have forfeited their lives.
13 Se uno userà d'un maschio come d'una femmina, hanno fatto ambedue cosa abominevole; sian messi a morte, e il loro sangue ricada su loro.	13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives.
14 Chi avendo in moglie la figlia, prenderà inoltre la madre di lei, fa cosa cosa scellerata; sarà bruciato vivo con esse, nè una tale indegnità verrà tollerata fra voi.	14 If a man marries a woman and her mother also, the man and the two women as well shall be burned to death for their shameful conduct, so that such shamefulness may not be found among you.
15 Chi si congiungerà con una bestia qualsiasi, venga ucciso; uccidete anche la bestia.	15 If a man has carnal relations with an animal, the man shall be put to death, and the animal shall be slain.
16 La donna che si sia congiunta con qualsiasi animale, venga uccisa con esso. Il sangue loro sia sopra di loro.	16 If a woman goes up to any animal to mate with it, the woman and the animal shall be slain; let them both be put to death; their lives are forfeit.
17 Se uno prende la sua sorella, figlia del padre o della madre sua, e scuopre la sua nudità, ed essa quella di lui, hanno fatto cosa nefasta; saranno messi a morte in presenza del loro popolo, per essersi scambievolmente scoperta la propria nudità, e porteranno la pena della loro iniquità.	17 If a man consummates marriage with his sister or his half-sister, they shall be publicly cut off from their people for this shameful deed; the man shall pay the penalty of having had intercourse with his own sister.
18 Se uno s'unirà a donna che ha il flusso mensile, scoprendo la nudità di lei, ed essa pure gli si scuopre, verranno ambedue sterminati di mezzo al loro popolo.	18 If a man lies in sexual intercourse with a woman during her menstrual period, both of them shall be cut off from their people, because they have laid bare the flowing fountain of her blood.
19 Non scoprirai la nudità della sorella di tua madre o di tuo padre; chi fa questo mette in mostra l'ignominia della propria carne, e porteranno ambedue la propria iniquità.	19 You shall not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister; whoever does so shall pay the penalty of incest.
20 Se uno s'unirà alla moglie del proprio zio paterno o materno, scoprendo la nudità della sua parente, porteranno ambedue il proprio peccato; morranno senza figli.	20 If a man disgraces his uncle by having intercourse with his uncle's wife, the man and his aunt shall pay the penalty by dying childless.
21 Chi prende la moglie di suo fratello, fa cosa illecita, disonorando il proprio fratello; saranno senza figliuoli. Esortazione generale	21 If a man marries his brother's wife and thus disgraces his brother, they shall be childless because of this incest.
22 Custodite le mie leggi ed i miei comandamenti, ed eseguiteli acciò anche voi non abbia a rigettare la terra nella quale entrerete ed abiterete.	22 "Be careful to observe all my statutes and all my decrees; otherwise the land where I am bringing you to dwell will vomit you out.
23 Non vi conformate alle leggi delle nazioni che io scaccerò d'innanzi a voi. Esse han fatto tutte queste cose, e mi son diventate abominevoli.	23 Do not conform, therefore, to the customs of the nations whom I am driving out of your way, because all these things that they have done have filled me with disgust for them.
24 Ma a voi io dico: "Abbiatevi la loro terra, che io vi darò in eredità: terra dove scorrono il latte ed il miele. Io il Signore Dio vostro, che v'ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli.	24 But to you I have said: Their land shall be your possession, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am giving it to you as your own, I, the LORD, your God, who have set you apart from the other nations.
25 Anche voi dunque separate l'animale mondo da quello immondo, l'uccello mondo dall'immondo, per non macchiar l'anime vostre con animali, uccelli o quali altri esseri si muovano sulla terra, e che io v'abbia indicati come immondi.	25 You, too, must set apart, then, the clean animals from the unclean, and the clean birds from the unclean, so that you may not be contaminated with the uncleanness of any beast or bird or of any swarming creature in the land that I have set apart for you.
26 Voi sarete santi al mio cospetto, perchè santo son io, il Signore, e v'ho separati dagli altri popoli acciò foste miei.	26 To me, therefore, you shall be sacred; for I, the LORD, am sacred, I, who have set you apart from the other nations to be my own.
27 L'uomo o la donna che abbian lo spirito pitonico o della divinazione, sian messi a morte; li lapideranno ed il loro sangue ricadrà su loro"-».	27 "A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortune-teller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death."
