| 5 Il falso testimonio non andrà impunito, e chi dice menzogna non la scamperà. | 5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who utters lies will not escape. |
| 6 Molti corteggiano la persona del potente e sono amici dell'uomo che dà. | 6 Many seek the favor of a generous man, and every one is a friend to a man who gives gifts. |
| 7 I fratelli dell'uomo povero l'hanno preso in avversione, quanto più gli amici se ne saranno allontanati! Chi va dietro alle ciance non avrà mai nulla. | 7 All a poor man's brothers hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues them with words, but does not have them. |
