Lettera agli Efesini 6

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Figli, obbedite ai vostri genitori nel Signore, perché questo è giusto.	1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.
2 Onora tuo padre e tua madre! Questo è il primo comandamento che è accompagnato da una promessa:	2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,
3 perché tu sia felice e goda di una lunga vita sulla terra.	3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.
4 E voi, padri, non esasperate i vostri figli, ma fateli crescere nella disciplina e negli insegnamenti del Signore.	4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.
5 Schiavi, obbedite ai vostri padroni terreni con rispetto e timore, nella semplicità del vostro cuore, come a Cristo,	5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:
6 non servendo per farvi vedere, come fa chi vuole piacere agli uomini, ma come servi di Cristo, facendo di cuore la volontà di Dio,	6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.
7 prestando servizio volentieri, come chi serve il Signore e non gli uomini.	7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.
8 Voi sapete infatti che ciascuno, sia schiavo che libero, riceverà dal Signore secondo quello che avrà fatto di bene.	8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .
9 Anche voi, padroni, comportatevi allo stesso modo verso di loro, mettendo da parte le minacce, sapendo che il Signore, loro e vostro, è nei cieli e in lui non vi è preferenza di persone.	9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.
10 Per il resto, rafforzatevi nel Signore e nel vigore della sua potenza.	10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.
11 Indossate l’armatura di Dio per poter resistere alle insidie del diavolo.	11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.
12 La nostra battaglia infatti non è contro la carne e il sangue, ma contro i Principati e le Potenze, contro i dominatori di questo mondo tenebroso, contro gli spiriti del male che abitano nelle regioni celesti.	12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.
13 Prendete dunque l’armatura di Dio, perché possiate resistere nel giorno cattivo e restare saldi dopo aver superato tutte le prove.	13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .
14 State saldi, dunque: attorno ai fianchi, la verità; indosso, la corazza della giustizia;	14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,
15 i piedi, calzati e pronti a propagare il vangelo della pace.	15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace
16 Afferrate sempre lo scudo della fede, con il quale potrete spegnere tutte le frecce infuocate del Maligno;	16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.
17 prendete anche l’elmo della salvezza e la spada dello Spirito, che è la parola di Dio.	17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.
18 In ogni occasione, pregate con ogni sorta di preghiere e di suppliche nello Spirito, e a questo scopo vegliate con ogni perseveranza e supplica per tutti i santi.	18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,
19 E pregate anche per me, affinché, quando apro la bocca, mi sia data la parola, per far conoscere con franchezza il mistero del Vangelo,	19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel
20 per il quale sono ambasciatore in catene, e affinché io possa annunciarlo con quel coraggio con il quale devo parlare.	20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.
21 Tìchico – fratello carissimo e fedele ministro nel Signore – vi darà notizie di tutto quello che io faccio, affinché sappiate anche voi ciò che mi riguarda.	21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.
22 Ve lo mando proprio allo scopo di farvi avere mie notizie e per confortare i vostri cuori.	22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.
23 Ai fratelli pace e carità con fede da parte di Dio Padre e del Signore Gesù Cristo.	23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.
24 La grazia sia con tutti quelli che amano il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo con amore incorruttibile.	24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.
