1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 «Fatti due trombe d’argento; le farai d’argento lavorato a martello e ti serviranno per convocare la comunità e per far muovere gli accampamenti.	2 “Make for yourself two trumpets of ductile silver, with which you may be able to call together the multitude when the camp is to be moved.
3 Quando si suonerà con esse, tutta la comunità si radunerà presso di te all’ingresso della tenda del convegno.	3 And when you sound the trumpets, all the multitude shall gather to you at the door of the tabernacle of the covenant.
4 Al suono di una tromba sola, si raduneranno presso di te i prìncipi, capi delle migliaia d’Israele.	4 If you sound it only once, the leaders and the heads of the multitude of Israel shall come to you.
5 Quando le suonerete a squillo disteso, gli accampamenti che sono a levante si metteranno in cammino.	5 But if the sound of the trumpets is prolonged, but with interruptions, those who are toward the east side shall move the camp first.
6 Quando le suonerete a squillo disteso una seconda volta, si metteranno in cammino gli accampamenti posti a mezzogiorno. A squillo disteso si suonerà per i loro spostamenti.	6 Then, at the second sounding of the trumpet with the same cadence, those who live toward the south shall take up their tents. And the remainder shall act in like manner, when the trumpets shall reverberate for a departure.
7 Per radunare l’assemblea, suonerete, ma non con squillo disteso.	7 But when the people are to be gathered together, the sound of the trumpets shall be simple, and the sounds shall not be separated.
8 I sacerdoti figli di Aronne suoneranno le trombe; sarà per voi un rito perenne di generazione in generazione.	8 Now it is the sons of Aaron the priest who shall sound the trumpets. And this shall be an everlasting ordinance, in your generations.
9 Quando nella vostra terra entrerete in guerra contro l’avversario che vi attaccherà, suonerete le trombe a squillo disteso e sarete ricordati davanti al Signore, vostro Dio, e sarete salvati dai vostri nemici.	9 If you go forth to war from your land, against the enemies who set out against you, you shall sound the trumpets repeatedly, and there shall be a remembrance of you before the Lord your God, so that you may be rescued from the hands of your enemies.
10 Nel vostro giorno di gioia, nelle vostre solennità e al principio dei vostri mesi, suonerete le trombe durante i vostri olocausti e i vostri sacrifici di comunione. Esse saranno per voi un richiamo davanti al vostro Dio. Io sono il Signore, vostro Dio».	10 If at any time you will have a banquet, and on feast days, and on the first days of the months, you shall sound the trumpets over the holocausts and the peace-offering victims, so that they may be for you as a remembrance by your God. I am the Lord your God.”
11 Il secondo anno, il secondo mese, il venti del mese, la nube si alzò da sopra la Dimora della Testimonianza.	11 In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud was lifted up from the tabernacle of the covenant.
12 Gli Israeliti si mossero, secondo il loro ordine di spostamento, dal deserto del Sinai. La nube si fermò nel deserto di Paran.	12 And the sons of Israel set out by their companies from the desert of Sinai, and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.
13 Così si misero in cammino la prima volta, secondo l’ordine del Signore, dato per mezzo di Mosè.	13 And the first to move their camp, according to the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses,
14 Per prima si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento dei figli di Giuda, suddivisi secondo le loro schiere. Nacson, figlio di Amminadàb, comandava la schiera di Giuda.	14 were the sons of Judah by their companies, whose leader was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
15 Netanèl, figlio di Suar, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Ìssacar.	15 In the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the leader was Nathanael the son of Zuar.
16 Eliàb, figlio di Chelon, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Zàbulon.	16 In the tribe of Zebulon, the leader was Eliab the son of Helon.
17 La Dimora fu smontata e si mossero i figli di Gherson e i figli di Merarì, portatori della Dimora.	17 And the tabernacle was taken down, because the sons of Gershon and Merari, who carry it, were departing.
18 Poi si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento di Ruben, secondo le sue schiere. Elisùr, figlio di Sedeùr, comandava la schiera di Ruben.	18 And the sons of Ruben also set out, by their companies and ranks, whose leader was Elizur the son of Shedeur.
19 Selumièl, figlio di Surisaddài, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Simeone.	19 And in the tribe of Simeon, the leader was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
20 Eliasàf, figlio di Deuèl, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Gad.	20 And in the tribe of Gad, the leader was Eliasaph the son of Reuel.
21 Poi si mossero i Keatiti, portatori del santuario; la Dimora veniva eretta al loro arrivo.	21 Then the Kohathites also set out, carrying the Sanctuary. The tabernacle was carried, all the while, until they arrived at the place for setting it up.
22 Poi si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento dei figli di Èfraim, suddivisi secondo le sue schiere. Elisamà, figlio di Ammiùd, comandava la schiera di Èfraim.	22 The sons of Ephraim also moved their camp by their companies, and the leader of their army was Elishama the son of Ammihud.
23 Gamlièl, figlio di Pedasùr, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Manasse.	23 And in the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the leader was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
24 Abidàn, figlio di Ghideonì, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Beniamino.	24 And in the tribe of Benjamin, the leader was Abidan the son of Gideoni.
25 Poi si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento dei figli di Dan, retroguardia di tutti gli accampamenti, suddivisi secondo le loro schiere. Achièzer, figlio di Ammisaddài, comandava la schiera di Dan.	25 The last of all the camp to set out were the sons of Dan by their companies, and the leader of their army was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
26 Paghièl, figlio di Ocran, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Aser,	26 And in the tribe of the sons of Asher, the leader was Pagiel the son of Ochran.
27 e Achirà, figlio di Enan, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Nèftali.	27 And in the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, the leader was Ahira the son of Enan.
28 Questo era l’ordine degli spostamenti degli Israeliti, secondo le loro schiere, quando levarono le tende.	28 These were the camps and departures of the sons of Israel by their companies, when they went forth.
29 Mosè disse a Obab, figlio di Reuèl il Madianita, suocero di Mosè: «Noi stiamo per partire verso il luogo del quale il Signore ha detto: “Lo darò a voi in possesso”. Vieni con noi e ti faremo del bene, perché il Signore ha promesso del bene a Israele».	29 And Moses said to Hobab the son of Raguel the Midianite, his kinsman: “We are setting out to the place which the Lord will give to us. Come with us, so that we may do good to you. For the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”
30 Ma egli replicò: «Io non verrò; anzi tornerò alla mia terra e alla mia parentela». Mosè rispose:	30 And he answered him, “I will not go with you, but I will return to my own land, in which I was born.”
31 «Non ci abbandonare, ti prego, poiché tu conosci i luoghi dove accamparci nel deserto e sarai per noi come gli occhi.	31 And he said: “Do not choose to leave us. For you know in which places in the desert we ought to make camp, and so you shall be our guide.
32 Se vieni con noi, tutto il bene che il Signore farà a noi, noi lo faremo a te».	32 And if you come with us, whatever will be best among the riches which the Lord will deliver to us, we will give to you.”
33 Così partirono dal monte del Signore e fecero tre giornate di cammino; l’arca dell’alleanza del Signore si muoveva davanti a loro durante le tre giornate di cammino, per cercare loro un luogo di sosta.	33 Therefore, they set out from the Mountain of the Lord on a journey of three days. And the ark of the covenant of the Lord preceded them, for three days, in order to provide a place for the camp.
34 La nube del Signore era sopra di loro durante il giorno, quando partivano dall’accampamento.	34 Likewise, the cloud of the Lord was over them, throughout the day, while they proceeded.
35 Quando l’arca partiva, Mosè diceva: «Sorgi, Signore, e siano dispersi i tuoi nemici e fuggano davanti a te coloro che ti odiano».	35 And when the ark was lifted up, Moses said, “Rise up, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee from your face.”
36 Quando sostava, diceva: «Torna, Signore, alle miriadi di migliaia d’Israele».	36 And when it was set down, he said: “Return, O Lord, to the multitude of the army of Israel.”
