BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Sugli Ammoniti. Così dice il Signore: «Israele non ha forse figli, non ha forse un erede? Perché Milcom ha ereditato la terra di Gad e il suo popolo ne ha occupato le città?	1 To the Ammonites. Yahweh says this: Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why should Milcom haveinherited Gad and his people have settled in its towns?
2 Perciò ecco, verranno giorni – oracolo del Signore – nei quali io farò udire fragore di guerra a Rabbà degli Ammoniti; essa diventerà un cumulo di rovine, i suoi villaggi saranno consumati dal fuoco, Israele spoglierà i suoi spogliatori, dice il Signore.	2 And so the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shall make the war cry ring out for Rabbah-of-the-Ammonites. She wil become a desolate mound and her daughter towns wil be burnt down. Then Israel willinherit from his heirs, Yahweh says.
3 Urla, Chesbon, arriva il devastatore; gridate, villaggi di Rabbà, cingetevi di sacco, innalzate lamenti e andate raminghi con tagli sulla pelle, perché Milcom andrà in esilio, con i suoi sacerdoti e i suoi capi.	3 Wail, Heshbon, for Ar has been laid waste! 5 Ecco, io manderò su di te il terrore – oracolo del Signore, Dio degli eserciti – da tutti i dintorni. Voi sarete scacciati, ognuno per la sua via, e non vi sarà nessuno che raduni i fuggiaschi.	5 Look, I shal bring terror on you, Lord Yahweh Sabaoth declares, from al directions; you shal be drivenaway, everyone for himself, with no one to ral y the fugitives.
6 Ma dopo cambierò la sorte degli Ammoniti». Oracolo del Signore.	6 (But later I shal bring back the captive Ammonites, Yahweh declares.)
7 Su Edom. Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: «Non c’è più sapienza in Teman? È scomparso il consiglio dei saggi? È svanita la loro sapienza?	7 To Edom. Yahweh says this: Is there no wisdom left in Teman? Have the shrewd run out ofcommonsense, has their wisdom vanished?
8 Fuggite, voltatevi, nascondetevi in un luogo segreto, abitanti di Dedan, poiché io mando su Esaù la sua rovina, il tempo del suo castigo.	8 Away! Take to your heels! Go into hiding, inhabitants of Dedan, for I shal bring ruin on Esau when thetime comes for me to punish him.
9 Se vendemmiatori venissero da te, ti lascerebbero appena qualche grappolo. Se ladri notturni venissero da te, saccheggerebbero quanto basta loro.	9 If grape-pickers were to come to you, would they not leave a few gleanings? If robbers came during thenight, would they not steal only as much as they wanted?
10 Perché io intendo spogliare Esaù, rivelo i suoi nascondigli ed egli non ha dove nascondersi. La sua stirpe, i suoi fratelli, i suoi vicini sono distrutti ed egli non è più.	10 But I for my part have stripped Esau, have laid his hiding places bare: he can hide no longer. His raceis destroyed, so are his brothers and neighbours; he is no more!
11 Lascia i tuoi orfani, io li farò vivere, le tue vedove confidino in me!	11 Leave your orphans, I shall support them, and let your widows rely on me!
12 Poiché così dice il Signore: Ecco, coloro che non erano obbligati a bere il calice lo devono bere e tu pretendi di rimanere impunito? Non resterai impunito, ma dovrai berlo,	12 For Yahweh says this, 'Look, those who would not have had to drink the cup wil have to drink it all thesame; so why should you go unpunished? You wil not go unpunished, but wil certainly have to drink.
13 poiché io ho giurato per me stesso – oracolo del Signore – che Bosra diventerà un orrore, un obbrobrio, un deserto, una maledizione, e tutte le sue città saranno ridotte a rovine perenni».	13 For by my own self I have sworn, Yahweh declares, that Bozrah will become an object of horror, alaughing-stock, a desert, a curse, and al its towns ruins for ever.'
14 Ho udito un messaggio da parte del Signore, un messaggero è stato inviato fra le nazioni: «Adunatevi e marciate contro di lui! Alzatevi per la battaglia».	14 I have received a message from Yahweh, a herald has been sent throughout the nations, 'Muster!March against this people! Prepare for battle!'
15 «Poiché ecco, ti faccio piccolo fra le nazioni e spregevole fra gli uomini.	15 For look, I shal reduce you to the smal est of nations, to the most despised of people.
16 Ti ha indotto in errore la tua arroganza, la superbia del tuo cuore; tu che abiti nelle caverne delle rocce, che ti aggrappi alle cime dei colli, anche se, come l’aquila, ponessi in alto il tuo nido, di lassù ti farò precipitare. Oracolo del Signore.	16 Your reputation for ferocity, your proud heart has misled you. You whose home is in the crannies of the Rock, who cling to the top of the peak! Though you make your nest as high as the eagle's, I shal bring youdown from there, Yahweh declares.
17 Edom sarà una desolazione; quanti vi passeranno vicino resteranno sbigottiti e fischieranno di scherno davanti a tutte le sue ferite.	17 Edom wil become an object of horror; everyone going near wil be appal ed, and whistle at the sight ofal her wounds.
18 Come nello sconvolgimento di Sòdoma e Gomorra e delle città vicine – dice il Signore –, non vi abiterà alcuna persona né vi dimorerà essere umano.	18 As at the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbouring towns, no one wil live there anymore, Yahweh says, no human being settle there again.
19 Ecco, come un leone sale dalla boscaglia del Giordano verso i prati sempre verdi, così in un baleno io lo scaccerò di là e porrò su di esso il mio eletto. Perché chi è come me? Chi può citarmi in giudizio? Chi è dunque il pastore che può resistere davanti a me?	19 Look, like a lion he climbs from the thickets of the Jordan to the perennial pasture! In a flash, I shalmake them run away, and there appoint someone I shal choose. For who is there like me? Who can hale meinto court? Name me the shepherd who can stand up to me.
20 Per questo, ascoltate il progetto che il Signore ha fatto contro Edom e le decisioni che ha preso contro gli abitanti di Teman. Certo, trascineranno via anche i più piccoli del gregge e sarà desolato il loro pascolo.	20 So now hear the plan that Yahweh has laid against Edom, the schemes he has in mind against theinhabitants of Teman: they will certainly be dragged away like the smal est of the flock! Their pastures wilcertainly be sacked before their eyes!
21 Al fragore della loro caduta tremerà la terra. Un grido! Fino al Mar Rosso ne risuonerà l’eco.	21 The earth quakes at the sound of their downfal , the sound of it echoes to the Sea of Reeds.
22 Ecco, come l’aquila sale e si libra e distende le ali su Bosra. In quel giorno il cuore dei prodi di Edom sarà come il cuore di una donna nei dolori del parto».	22 Look, like an eagle, he wil soar and hover, spreading his wings over Bozrah. And the heart of Edom'swarriors, that day, wil be like that of a woman in labour pains.
23 Su Damasco. «Camat e Arpad sono piene di confusione, perché hanno sentito una cattiva notizia; esse sono agitate come il mare, sono in angustia, non possono calmarsi.	23 To Damascus. 25 Come non potrebbe essere abbandonata la città gloriosa, la città del tripudio?	25 What now! That famous town deserted, that city of gaiety?
26 Perciò cadranno i suoi giovani nelle sue piazze, tutti i suoi guerrieri periranno in quel giorno. Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.	26 And so in her squares her young men wil fall, and all her fighting men wil perish, that day, YahwehSabaoth declares.
27 Darò fuoco alle mura di Damasco e divorerà i palazzi di Ben-Adàd».	27 I shal light a fire inside the wal s of Damascus, to devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad.
28 Su Kedar e sui regni di Asor, che Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, sconfisse. Così dice il Signore: «Su, marciate contro Kedar, saccheggiate i figli dell’oriente.	28 To Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, which were conquered by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.Yahweh says this: Up! March on Kedar, destroy the sons of the east!
29 Prendete le loro tende e le loro pecore, i loro teli, tutti i loro attrezzi, portate via i loro cammelli; un grido si leverà su di loro: “Terrore all’intorno!”.	29 Let their tents and their flocks be captured, their tent-cloths and al their gear; let their camels beseized and the shout go up, 'Terror on every side!'
30 Fuggite, andate lontano, nascondetevi in un luogo segreto o abitanti di Asor – oracolo del Signore –, perché Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, ha ideato un disegno contro di voi, ha preparato un piano contro di voi.	30 Away! Get into hiding as fast as you can, inhabitants of Hazor, Yahweh declares, for Nebuchadnezzarking of Babylon has made a plan against you, he has a scheme in mind against you,
31 Su, marciate contro la nazione tranquilla, che vive in sicurezza – oracolo del Signore – e non ha né porte né sbarre, e vive isolata.	31 Up! March on a nation at its ease, living secure, Yahweh declares, that has no gates, no bars, thatlives in a remote place!
32 I suoi cammelli diverranno preda e la massa delle sue greggi bottino. Disperderò a tutti i venti coloro che si radono le tempie, da ogni parte farò venire la loro rovina. Oracolo del Signore.	32 Their camels wil be the plunder, their countless sheep the spoil. I shal scatter them to the winds,those Crop-Heads, and bring ruin on them from every side, Yahweh declares.
33 Asor diventerà rifugio di sciacalli, una desolazione per sempre; non vi abiterà alcuna persona né vi dimorerà essere umano».	33 Hazor wil become the lair of jackals, desolate for ever. No one wil live there any more, no humanbeing settle there again.
34 Parola che il Signore rivolse al profeta Geremia riguardo a Elam all’inizio del regno di Sedecìa, re di Giuda.	34 The word of Yahweh that came to the prophet Jeremiah about Elam, at the beginning of the reign ofZedekiah king of Judah.
35 «Dice il Signore degli eserciti: Ecco, io spezzerò l’arco di Elam, il nerbo della sua potenza.	35 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal break Elam's bow, the source of his might.
36 Farò venire contro Elam i quattro venti dalle quattro estremità del cielo e li disperderò davanti a questi venti; non ci sarà nazione in cui non giungeranno i profughi di Elam.	36 I shal bring four winds on Elam from the four corners of the sky, and I shall scatter them to al thesewinds: there wil not be a single nation to which people expel ed from Elam do not go.

38 Porrò il mio trono su Elam e farò scomparire il suo re e i suoi capi. Oracolo del Signore.	38 I shal set up my throne in Elam, uprooting its king and princes, Yahweh declares.
39 Ma negli ultimi giorni cambierò la sorte di Elam». Oracolo del Signore.	39 In the final days, I shal bring Elam's captives back, Yahweh declares.'
