Geremia 35

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Questa parola fu rivolta a Geremia dal Signore durante il regno di Ioiakìm, figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda:	1 The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah,
2 «Va’ dai Recabiti e parla loro, conducili in una delle stanze nel tempio del Signore e offri loro vino da bere».	2 'Go to the clan of the Rechabites and speak to them; bring them into one of the rooms of the Temple ofYahweh and offer them wine to drink.'
3 Allora presi tutta la famiglia dei Recabiti, cioè Iaazania, figlio di Geremia, figlio di Cabassinia, i suoi fratelli e tutti i suoi figli.	3 So I took Jaazaniah son of Jeremiah, son of Habazziniah, with his brothers and al his sons, the wholeRechabite clan,
4 Li condussi nel tempio del Signore, nella stanza dei figli di Canan, figlio di Igdalia, uomo di Dio, la quale si trova vicino alla stanza dei capi, sopra la stanza di Maasia, figlio di Sallum, custode della soglia.	4 and brought them to the Temple of Yahweh into the room of Ben-Johanan son of Igdaliah, a man ofGod, which was next to that of the chief men, above the room of Maaseiah son of Shal um, guardian of thethreshold.
5 Posi davanti ai membri della famiglia dei Recabiti boccali pieni di vino e delle coppe e dissi loro: «Bevete il vino!».	5 I then set pitchers ful of wine, and some cups, before the members of the Rechabite clan and said,'Drink some wine.'
6 Essi risposero: «Noi non beviamo vino, perché Ionadàb, figlio di Recab, nostro antenato, ci diede quest’ordine: “Non berrete vino, né voi né i vostri figli, mai;	6 But they replied, 'We do not drink wine, because our ancestor Jonadab son of Rechab gave us thisorder, "You must not drink wine, neither you nor your sons for ever;
7 non costruirete case, non seminerete sementi, non pianterete vigne e non ne possederete, ma abiterete nelle tende tutti i vostri giorni, perché possiate vivere a lungo sulla terra dove vivete come forestieri”.	7 nor must you build houses, sow seed, plant vineyards or own them, but must live in tents all your lives,so that you may live long on the soil to which you are alien."
8 Noi abbiamo obbedito agli ordini di Ionadàb, figlio di Recab, nostro padre, in tutto ciò che ci ha comandato, e perciò noi, le nostre mogli, i nostri figli e le nostre figlie, non beviamo vino per tutta la nostra vita;	8 We have punctiliously obeyed the orders of our ancestor, Jonadab son of Rechab, never drinking wineourselves, nor our wives, our sons or our daughters,
9 non costruiamo case da abitare né possediamo vigne o campi o sementi.	9 not building houses to live in, owning neither vineyard nor field nor seed,
10 Noi abitiamo nelle tende, obbediamo e facciamo quanto ci ha comandato Ionadàb, nostro padre.	10 living in tents. We have obeyed the orders of our ancestor Jonadab, respecting them in everyparticular.
11 Quando Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, è venuto contro il paese, ci siamo detti: “Venite, entriamo in Gerusalemme per sfuggire all’esercito dei Caldei e all’esercito degli Aramei”. Così siamo venuti ad abitare a Gerusalemme».	11 However, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded this country, we decided, "We must getaway! We will go to Jerusalem to escape the armies of the Chaldaeans and Aramaeans." So that is why we areliving in Jerusalem.'
12 Allora fu rivolta a Geremia questa parola del Signore:	12 Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as follows,
13 «Così dice il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: Va’ e riferisci agli uomini di Giuda e agli abitanti di Gerusalemme: Non accetterete la lezione, ascoltando le mie parole? Oracolo del Signore.	13 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "Go and say to the people of Judah and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem: Wil you never learn the lesson and listen to my words, Yahweh demands?
14 Sono state messe in pratica le parole di Ionadàb, figlio di Recab, il quale aveva comandato ai suoi figli di non bere vino, ed essi non lo hanno bevuto fino ad oggi, obbedendo al comando del loro padre. Io invece vi ho parlato con premura e insistenza, ma voi non mi avete ascoltato!	14 The words of Jonadab son of Rechab, ordering his sons to drink no wine, have been observed;obedient to their ancestor's command, they drink none even today . But to me, who spoke to you so urgently, sountiringly, you have not listened.
15 Vi ho inviato con assidua premura tutti i miei servi, i profeti, per dirvi: Abbandoni ciascuno la sua condotta perversa, migliorate le vostre azioni e non seguite e non servite altri dèi, per poter abitare nella terra che ho concesso a voi e ai vostri padri, ma voi non avete prestato orecchio e non mi avete dato retta.	15 I have urgently and untiringly sent you al my servants the prophets to say: Turn back, each one ofyou, from your evil behaviour and amend your actions, do not fol ow other gods to serve them, and you wil go onliving on the soil I gave to you and your ancestors. But you have not paid attention or listened to me.
16 E mentre i figli di Ionadàb, figlio di Recab, hanno eseguito il comando del loro padre, questo popolo non mi ha ascoltato.	16 Thus the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab have kept the command their ancestor gave them, but thispeople has not listened to me.
17 Perciò dice il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: Ecco, io farò venire su Giuda e su tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme tutto il male che ho annunciato contro di loro, perché ho parlato loro e non mi hanno ascoltato, li ho chiamati e non hanno risposto».	17 And so, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Look, on Judah and the citizens of JerusalemI am going to bring al the disaster which I have decreed for them, because I spoke to them and they would notlisten, cal ed to them and they would not answer." '
18 Geremia disse poi alla famiglia dei Recabiti: «Dice il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: Poiché avete ascoltato il comando di Ionadàb, vostro padre, e avete osservato tutti i suoi decreti e avete fatto quanto vi aveva ordinato,	18 Then Jeremiah said to the Rechabite clan, 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "Becauseyou have obeyed the orders of your ancestor Jonadab and observed al his rules and done everything heordered you to do,
19 per questo dice il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: Non verrà mai a mancare a Ionadàb, figlio di Recab, qualcuno che stia sempre alla mia presenza».	19 therefore, Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: Jonadab son of Rechab wil never lack amale descendant to stand before me for ever." '
