Jesus Sirach 36

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Rette uns, du Gott des Alls,	1 Take pity on us, Master, Lord of the universe, look at us, spread fear of yourself throughout al othernations.
2 und wirf deinen Schrecken auf alle Völker!	2 Raise your hand against the foreign nations and let them see your might.
3 Schwing deine Hand gegen das fremde Volk, damit es deine mächtigen Taten sieht.	3 As, in their sight, you have proved yourself holy to us, so now, in our sight, prove yourself great to them.
4 Wie du dich an uns vor ihren Augen als heilig bezeugt hast, so verherrliche dich an ihnen vor unseren Augen,	4 Let them acknowledge you, just as we have acknowledged that there is no God but you, Lord.
5 damit sie erkennen, wie wir es erkannten: Es gibt keinen Gott außer dir.	5 Send new portents, do fresh wonders, win glory for your hand and your right arm.
6 Erneuere die Zeichen, wiederhole die Wunder,	6 Rouse your fury, pour out your rage, destroy the opponent, annihilate the enemy.
7 zeige die Macht deiner Hand und die Kraft deines rechten Armes!	7 Hasten the day, remember the oath, and let people tell of your mighty deeds.
8 Weck deinen Zorn, ergieß deinen Groll,	8 Let fiery wrath swal ow up the survivor, and destruction overtake those who oppress your people.
9 beuge den Gegner, wirf den Feind zu Boden!	9 Crush the heads of hostile rulers who say, 'There is no one else but us!'
10 Beschleunige das Ende und schau auf die Zeit! Denn wer darf zu dir sagen: Was tust du?	10 Gather together all the tribes of Jacob, restore them their heritage as at the beginning.
11 Wer entkommt, der werde von der Glut deines Zornes verzehrt, die Peiniger deines Volkes sollen zugrunde gehen.	11 Take pity, Lord, on the people cal ed by your name, on Israel whom you have made your first-born.
12 Bring das Haupt der Fürsten Moabs zum Schweigen, das sagt: Es gibt keinen außer mir.	12 Have compassion on your holy city, on Jerusalem, the place where you rest.
13 Sammle alle Stämme Jakobs,	13 Fil Zion with your praises and your sanctuary with your glory.
14 []	14 Vindicate those whom you created first, fulfil what has been prophesied in your name.
15 []	15 Give those who wait for you their reward, let your prophets be proved true.

19 Erfülle Zion mit deinem Glanz und deinen Tempel mit deiner Herrlichkeit!	19 As the palate discerns the flavour of game, so a shrewd listener detects lying words.
20 Leg Zeugnis ab für das, was du ehedem verfügt hast; erfülle die Weissagung, die in deinem Namen ergangen ist.	20 A perverse character causes depression in others; it needs experience to know how to repay such aone.
21 Gib allen ihren Lohn, die auf dich hoffen, und bestätige so deine Propheten!	21 A woman wil accept any husband, but some daughters are better than others.
22 Erhöre das Gebet deiner Diener; du hast doch Gefallen an deinem Volk. Alle Enden der Erde sollen erkennen: Du bist der ewige Gott.	22 A woman's beauty delights the beholder, a man likes nothing better.
23 Der Hals schluckt jede Speise, doch die eine Speise schmeckt besser als die andere.	23 If her tongue is kind and gentle, her husband is the happiest of men.

28 Hat sie dazu noch eine friedfertige Sprache, so zählt ihr Gatte nicht zu den gewöhnlichen Menschen.
29 Wer eine Frau gewinnt, macht den besten Gewinn: eine Hilfe, die ihm entspricht, eine stützende Säule.
30 Fehlt die Mauer, so wird der Weinberg verwüstet, fehlt die Frau, ist einer rastlos und ruhelos.
31 Wer traut einer Horde Soldaten, die dahinstürmt von Stadt zu Stadt? So steht es mit einem Mann, der kein Heim hat: Er geht zur Ruhe, wo es gerade Abend wird.
