EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 [Ein Wallfahrtslied.] Ich erhebe meine Augen zu dir, der du hoch im Himmel thronst.	1 [Song of Ascents] I lift up my eyes to you who are enthroned in heaven.
2 Wie die Augen der Knechte auf die Hand ihres Herrn, wie die Augen der Magd auf die Hand ihrer Herrin, so schauen unsre Augen auf den Herrn, unsern Gott, bis er uns gnädig ist.	2 Just as the eyes of slaves are on their masters' hand, or the eyes of a slave-girl on the hand of hermistress, so our eyes are on Yahweh our God, for him to take pity on us.
3 Sei uns gnädig, Herr, sei uns gnädig! Denn übersatt sind wir vom Hohn der Spötter,	3 Have pity on us, Yahweh, have pity, for we have had our full share of scorn,
4 übersatt ist unsre Seele von ihrem Spott, von der Verachtung der Stolzen.	4 more than our share of jeers from the complacent. (Scorn is for the proud.)
