1 [Ein Wallfahrtslied.] Ich rief zum Herrn in meiner Not und er hat mich erhört.	1 A song of ascents. The LORD answered me when I called in my distress:
2 Herr, rette mein Leben vor Lügnern, rette es vor falschen Zungen!	2 LORD, deliver me from lying lips, from treacherous tongues.
3 Was soll er dir tun, was alles dir antun, du falsche Zunge?	3 What will the Lord inflict on you, O treacherous tongue, and what more besides?
4 Scharfe Pfeile von Kriegerhand und glühende Ginsterkohlen dazu.	4 A warrior's sharpened arrows and fiery coals of brush wood!
5 Weh mir, dass ich als Fremder in Meschech bin und bei den Zelten von Kedar wohnen muss!	5 Alas, I was an alien in Meshech, I lived near the tents of Kedar!
6 Ich muss schon allzu lange wohnen bei Leuten, die den Frieden hassen.	6 Too long did I live among those who hated peace.
7 Ich verhalte mich friedlich; doch ich brauche nur zu reden, dann suchen sie Hader und Streit.	7 When I spoke of peace, they were for war.
