VULGATA	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Fili, accedens ad servitutem Dei sta in justitia et timore, et præpara animam tuam ad tentationem.	1 My son, if thou come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul for temptation.
2 Deprime cor tuum, et sustine : inclina aurem tuam, et suscipe verba intellectus : et ne festines in tempore obductionis.	2 Set thy heart aright, and constantly endure, and make not haste in time of trouble.
3 Sustine sustentationes Dei : conjungere Deo, et sustine, ut crescat in novissimo vita tua.	3 Cleave unto him, and depart not away, that thou mayest be increased at thy last end.
4 Omne quod tibi applicitum fuerit accipe : et in dolore sustine, et in humilitate tua patientiam habe :	4 Whatsoever is brought upon thee take cheerfully, and be patient when thou art changed to a low estate.
5 quoniam in igne probatur aurum et argentum, homines vero receptibiles in camino humiliationis.	5 For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity.
6 Crede Deo, et recuperabit te : et dirige viam tuam, et spera in illum : serva timorem illius, et in illo veterasce.	6 Believe in him, and he will help thee; order thy way aright, and trust in him.
7 Metuentes Dominum, sustinete misericordiam ejus : et non deflectatis ab illo, ne cadatis.	7 Ye that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy; and go not aside, lest ye fall.
8 Qui timetis Dominum, credite illi, et non evacuabitur merces vestra.	8 Ye that fear the Lord, believe him; and your reward shall not fail.
9 Qui timetis Dominum, sperate in illum, et in oblectationem veniet vobis misericordia.	9 Ye that fear the Lord, hope for good, and for everlasting joy and mercy.
10 Qui timetis Dominum, diligite illum, et illuminabuntur corda vestra.	10 Look at the generations of old, and see; did ever any trust in the Lord, and was confounded? or did any abide in his fear, and was forsaken? or whom did he ever despise, that called upon him?
11 Respicite, filii, nationes hominum : et scitote quia nullus speravit in Domino et confusus est.	11 For the Lord is full of compassion and mercy, longsuffering, and very pitiful, and forgiveth sins, and saveth in time of affliction.
12 Quis enim permansit in mandatis ejus, et derelictus est ? aut quis invocavit eum, et despexit illum ?	12 Woe be to fearful hearts, and faint hands, and the sinner that goeth two ways!
13 Quoniam pius et misericors est Deus, et remittet in die tribulationis peccata, et protector est omnibus exquirentibus se in veritate.	13 Woe unto him that is fainthearted! for he believeth not; therefore shall he not be defended.
14 Væ duplici corde, et labiis scelestis, et manibus malefacientibus, et peccatori terram ingredienti duabus viis !	14 Woe unto you that have lost patience! and what will ye do when the Lord shall visit you?
15 Væ dissolutis corde, qui non credunt Deo, et ideo non protegentur ab eo !	15 They that fear the Lord will not disobey his Word; and they that love him will keep his ways.
16 Væ his qui perdiderunt sustinentiam, et qui dereliquerunt vias rectas, et diverterunt in vias pravas !	16 They that fear the Lord will seek that which is well, pleasing unto him; and they that love him shall be filled with the law.
17 Et quid facient cum inspicere c?perit Dominus ?	17 They that fear the Lord will prepare their hearts, and humble their souls in his sight,
18 Qui timent Dominum non erunt incredibiles verbo illius : et qui diligunt illum conservabunt viam illius.	18 Saying, We will fall into the hands of the Lord, and not into the hands of men: for as his majesty is, so is his mercy.
19 Qui timent Dominum inquirent quæ beneplacita sunt ei, et qui diligunt eum replebuntur lege ipsius.
20 Qui timent Dominum præparabunt corda sua, et in conspectu illius sanctificabunt animas suas.
21 Qui timent Dominum custodiunt mandata illius, et patientiam habebunt usque ad inspectionem illius,
22 dicentes : Si p?nitentiam non egerimus, incidemus in manus Domini, et non in manus hominum.
23 Secundum enim magnitudinem ipsius, sic et misericordia illius cum ipso est.
