1 Et egressa est sors secunda fi liorum Simeon per cognatio nes suas; fuitque hereditas	1 The second lot to come out was for Simeon, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon, by clans; their heritagewas within the heritage of the sons of Judah.
2 eorum in medio possessionis filiorum Iudae. Bersabee et Sama et Molada	2 As heritage, they received:
3 et Asarsual et Bala et Esem	3 Beersheba, Shema, Moladah,
4 et Eltholad et Bethul et Horma	4 Hazar-Shual, Balah, Ezem, Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
5 et Siceleg et Bethmarchaboth et Asarsusa	5 Ziklag, Beth-ha-Marcaboth, Hazar-Susa,
6 et Bethlebaoth et Sarohen: civitates tredecim et villae earum.	6 Beth-Lebaoth and Sharuhen: thirteen towns and their vil ages.
7 Ain et Remmon et Ethar et Asan: civitates quattuor et villae earum.	7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan: four towns and their villages,
8 Omnes viculi per circuitum urbium istarum usque ad Baalathbeer, Ramathnageb: haec est hereditas filiorum Simeon iuxta cognationes suas.	8 with al the vil ages situated near these towns as far as Baalath-Beer and Ramah of the Negeb. Suchwas the heritage of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, by clans.
9 Sumpta est de funiculo filiorum Iudae, quia maior erat; et idcirco possederunt filii Simeon in medio hereditatis eorum.	9 The heritage of the sons of Simeon was taken out of the portion of the sons of Judah, because theshare of the sons of Judah was too large for them; hence, the sons of Simeon received their heritage within theheritage of the sons of Judah.
10 Ceciditque sors tertia filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas. Et factus est terminus possessionis eorum usque Sarid	10 The third lot fel to the sons of Zebulun, by clans; the territory of their heritage stretched as far asSadud;
11 ascenditque contra occidentem et Merala et pervenit in Debbaseth usque ad torrentem, qui est contra Iecnaam,	11 their frontier climbed westwards to Maraalah, touching Dabbesheth and the torrent facing Jokneam.
12 et revertitur de Sarid contra orientem in fines Ceseleththabor et egreditur ad Dabereth ascenditque contra Iaphia.	12 From Sadud, the frontier turned east, towards the rising sun, as far as the frontier of Chisloth-Tabor; itcame out at Dobrath and went up to Japhia.
13 Et inde pertransit usque ad orientalem plagam Gethhepher, Etthacasin et egreditur in Remmon et inclinatur in Noa;	13 Thence, it went east, towards the sunrise, to Gath-Hepher and Ittah-Kazin, came out at Rimmon andturned towards Neah.
14 et vergit ad aquilonem ad Hanathon. Suntque egressus eius vallis Iephthael;	14 The northern frontier turned towards Hannathon and came to an end in the Val ey of Iphtah-El;
15 et Cateth et Naalol et Semeron et Iedala et Bethlehem: civitates duodecim et villae earum.	15 with Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Iralah and Bethlehem: twelve towns with their villages.

17 Issachar egressa est sors quarta per cognationes suas.	17 The fourth lot came out for Issachar, for the sons of Issachar, by clans.
18 Fuitque eius hereditas Iezrahel et Chasaloth et Sunam	18 Their territory stretched towards Jezreel and included Chesul oth, Shunem,
19 et Hapharaim et Seon et Anaharath	19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,
20 et Rabbith et Cesion et Abes	20 Dobrath, Kishion, Ebez,
21 et Rameth et Engannim et Enhadda et Bethpheses.	21 Remeth, En-Gannim, En-Haddah and Beth-Pazzez.
22 Et pervenit terminus eius usque Thabor et Sehesima et Bethsames; suntque exitus eius ad Iordanem; civitates sedecim et villae earum.	22 Their frontier touched Tabor, Shahazimah and Beth-Shemesh, and the frontier came to an end at theJordan: sixteen towns with their vil ages.
23 Haec est possessio filiorum Issachar per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.	23 Such was the heritage of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, by clans: the towns and their vil ages.
24 Ceciditque sors quinta tribui filiorum Aser per cognationes suas.	24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the sons of Asher, by clans.
25 Fuitque terminus eorum Helcath et Chali et Beten et Achsaph	25 Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,
26 et Elmelech et Amaad et Masal et pervenit usque ad Carmelum in occidente et ad Sihorlabanath;	26 Alammelech, Amad and Mishal.
27 ac revertitur contra orientem in Bethdagon et pertransit usque Zabulon et vallem Iephthael contra aquilonem in Bethemec et Neiel. Egrediturque ad laevam Chabul	27 On the west, it touched Carmel and the course of the Libnath. 30 et Amma et Aphec et Rohob: civitates viginti duae et villae earum.	30 with Acco, Aphek and Rehob: twenty-two towns with their vil ages.
31 Haec est possessio filiorum Aser per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.	31 Such was the heritage of the tribe of the sons of Asher, by clans; these towns and their vil ages.
32 Filiorum Nephthali sexta sors cecidit per familias suas.	32 To the sons of Naphtali fel the sixth portion, to the sons of Naphtali, by clans.
33 Et coepit terminus de Heleph et de quercu in Saananim et Adamineceb et Iebnael usque Lecum et egressus eius usque ad Iordanem;	33 Their frontier went from Heleph and the Oak of Zanaannim, with Adami-ha-Negeb and Jabneel, as faras Lakkum, and ended at the Jordan.
34 revertiturque terminus contra occidentem in Aznotthabor atque inde egreditur in Hucoc et attingit Zabulon contra meridiem et Aser contra occidentem et Iordanem contra ortum solis;	34 The westward boundary ran to Aznoth-Tabor and thence came out at Hukkok, marching with Zebulunin the south, Asher in the west and the Jordan in the east.
35 civitates munitissimae Assedim, Ser et Ammath, Reccath et Chenereth	35 The fortified towns were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,
36 et Edema et Rama, Asor	36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
37 et Cedes et Edrai et Enasor,	37 Kedesh, Edrei, En-Hazor,
38 Ieron et Magdalel, Horem et Bethanath et Bethsames: civitates decem et novem et villae earum.	38 Jiron, Migdal-El, Horem, Beth-Anath and Beth-Shemesh: nineteen towns and their vil ages.

40 Tribui filiorum Dan per familias suas egressa est sors septima.	40 To the tribe of the sons of Dan, by clans, fel the seventh portion.
41 Et fuit terminus possessionis eius Saraa et Esthaol et Hirsemes (id est civitas Solis)	41 The territory of their heritage comprised: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-Shemesh,
42 et Selebin et Aialon et Iethela	42 Shaalbim, Aijalon, Silatha,
43 et Elon et Thamna et Accaron	43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
44 et Elthece et Gebbethon et Baalath	44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
45 et Iud et Benebarach et Gethremmon	45 Baalath, Azor, Bene-Berak and Gath-Rimmon;

47 Et terminus filiorum Dan effugit ab eis. Ascenderuntque filii Dan et pugnaverunt contra Lesem ceperuntque eam; et percusserunt in ore gladii ac possederunt et habitaverunt in ea, vocantes Lesemdan ex nomine Dan patris sui.	47 The territory of the sons of Dan eluded them, however, and the sons of Dan consequently went upand attacked Leshem, captured it and put it to the sword. Having gained possession of it, they settled there andcal ed Leshem, Dan, after Dan their ancestor.
48 Haec est possessio tribus filiorum Dan per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.	48 Such was the heritage of the tribe of the sons of Dan, by clans: these towns and their vil ages.
49 Cumque complessent terram sorte dividere singulis per tribus suas, dederunt filii Israel possessionem Iosue filio Nun in medio sui,	49 Having finished dividing the country, frontier by frontier, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun aheritage among themselves;
50 iuxta praeceptum Domini, urbem quam postulavit: Thamnathsare in monte Ephraim. Et aedificavit civitatem habitavitque in ea.	50 at Yahweh's command, they gave him the town which he had asked for, Timnath-Serah in thehighlands of Ephraim; he rebuilt the town and settled there.
51 Hae sunt possessiones, quas sorte diviserunt Eleazar sacerdos et Iosue filius Nun et principes familiarum tribuum filiorum Israel in Silo coram Domino ad ostium tabernaculi conventus; compleveruntque partiri terram.	51 Such are the heritages which the priest Eleazar, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of each familyapportioned by lot between the tribes of Israel at Shiloh, in Yahweh's presence, at the door of the Tent ofMeeting; and thus the apportioning of the country was completed.
