BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E Mosè cogli anziani d'Israele diede al popolo quest'ordine: Osservate tutti i comandamenti che io oggi vi prescrivo.	1 Moses and the elders of Israel gave the people this command: 'Keep al the commandments which Iam laying down for you today.
2 E quando, passato il Giordano, sarete entrati nella terra che il Signore Dio tuo ti darà, rizzerai delle grandi pietre e le intonacherai di calcina,	2 After you have crossed the Jordan into the country which Yahweh your God is giving you, you mustset up tal stones, coat them with lime
3 per scriverci sopra tutte le parole di questa legge, appena passato il Giordano per entrare nella terra che il Signore Dio tuo ti darà, terra che stilla latte e miele, come Egli giurò ai tuoi padri.	3 and on them write all the words of this Law, when you have crossed and entered the country whichYahweh your God is giving you, a country flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, God of your ancestors, haspromised you.
4 Quando dunque avrete passato il Giordano, rizzate queste pietre di cui oggi vi parlo sul monte Ebal, e intonacatele di calcina.	4 'When you have crossed the Jordan, you must erect these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command youtoday, and coat them with lime.
5 Lassù edificherai al Signore Dio tuo un altare con pietre non tocche dal ferro,	5 There, for Yahweh your God, you must build an altar of stones, on which no iron has been used.
6 con pietre gregge e non lavorate; e sopra di esso offrirai olocausti al Signore Dio tuo,	6 You must build the altar of Yahweh your God of rough stones, and on this altar you will present burntofferings to Yahweh your God,
7 immolerai ostie pacifiche e mangerai e banchetterai dinanzi al Signore Dio tuo.	7 and immolate communion sacrifices and eat them there, rejoicing in the presence of Yahweh yourGod.
8 E su quelle pietre scriverai chiaramente e distintamente tutte le parole di questa legge.	8 On these stones you must write al the words of this Law; cut them careful y.'
9 Mosè e i sacerdoti della stirpe di Levi dissero ancora a tutto Israele: Ascolta attentamente, Israele: oggi tu sei diventato il popolo del Signore Dio tuo:	9 Moses and the levitical priests then said to al Israel: 'Be silent, Israel, and listen. Today you havebecome a people for Yahweh your God.
10 ascoltane adunque la voce, osserva i comandamenti e le leggi che io ti prescrivo.	10 You must listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and observe the commandments and laws which Iam laying down for you today.'
11 E Mosè in quel giorno diede al popolo quest'ordine:	11 That day Moses gave the people this order:
12 Quando avrete passato il Giordano, ecco quelli che dovranno stare sul monte Garizim per benedire il popolo: Simeone, Levi, Giuda, Issacar, Giuseppe e Beniamino.	12 'When you have crossed the Jordan, the fol owing wil stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people:Simeon and Levi, Judah and Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.
13 E dirimpetto, sul monte Ebal, a maledire, staranno questi altri: Ruben, Gad, Aser, Zàbulon, Dan, Nettali.	13 And the fol owing wil stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad and Asher, Zebulun, Dan andNaphtali.
14 E i Leviti diranno solennemente ad alta voce a tutti gli uomini d'Israele:	14 The Levites wil then speak, proclaiming loudly to al the Israelites:
15 Maledetto l'uomo che fa imagine scolpita o di getto, cosa abbominevole pel Signore, opera di mano di artefici, e la colloca in luogo occulto. E tutto il popolo risponderà: Così sia.	15 "Accursed be anyone who makes a carved or cast idol, a thing detestable to Yahweh, a workman'sartefact, and sets it up in secret." And the people are al to respond by saying, Amen.
16 Maledetto chi non onora suo padre e sua madre. E tutto il popolo risponderà: Cosi sia.	16 "Accursed be anyone who treats father or mother dishonourably." And the people must al say,Amen.
17 Maledetto chi sposta i termini del suo prossimo. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	17 "Accursed be anyone who displaces a neighbour's boundary mark." And the people must al say,Amen.
18 Maledetto chi fa sbagliar la strada al cieco. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	18 "Accursed be anyone who leads the blind astray on the road." And the people must al say, Amen.
19 Maledetto chi conculca i diritti del forestiero, dell'orfano e della vedova. E tutto il popolo dirà: Cosi sia.	19 "Accursed be anyone who violates the rights of the foreigner, the orphan and the widow." And thepeople must al say, Amen.
20 Maledetto chi giace colla moglie di suo padre e scopre la coperta del suo talamo. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	20 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his father's wife and withdraws the skirt of hisfather's cloak from her." And the people must all say, Amen.
21 Maledetto chi pecca con qualsivoglia bestia. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	21 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with any kind of animal." And the people must allsay, Amen.
22 Maledetto chi giace colla propria sorella, figlia di suo padre o di sua madre. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	22 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his sister, the daughter of his father or of hismother." And the people must al say, Amen.
23 Maledetto chi giace colla sua suocera. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	23 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his mother-in-law." And the people must alsay, Amen.
24 Maledetto chi colpisce di nascosto il suo prossimo. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	24 "Accursed be anyone who secretly strikes down his neighbour." And the people must al say, Amen.
25 Maledetto chi accetta doni per condannare a morte un innocente. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	25 "Accursed be anyone who accepts a bribe to take an innocent life." And the people must al say,Amen.
26 Maledetto chi non s'attiene alle parole di questa legge e non le adempie con l'opere. E tutto il popolo dirà: Così sia.	26 "Accursed be anyone who does not make the words of this Law effective by putting them intopractice." And the people must al say, Amen.'
