Isaia 5

BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canterò al mio diletto la canzone del mio fratello germano alla sua vigna. Il mio diletto aveva una vigna in un colle fertile.	1 Let me sing my beloved the song of my friend for his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a fertilehil side.
2 La circondò di siepe, ne tolse le pietre, la riempì di scelti vitigni, edificò in mezzo di lei una torre, vi fece uno strettoio, e a spettò che facesse delle uve ma non fece che delle lambrusche.	2 He dug it, cleared it of stones, and planted it with red grapes. In the middle he built a tower, he hewed apress there too. He expected it to yield fine grapes: wild grapes were all it yielded.
3 Ed ora, abitatori di Gerusalemme, o uomini di Giuda, giudicate tra me e la mia vigna.	3 And now, citizens of Jerusalem and people of Judah, I ask you to judge between me and my vineyard.
4 Che avrei dovuto fare di più per la mia vigna, e non l'ho fatto? E allora, perchè, dopo avere aspettato che mi facesse l'uva, m'ha fatto delle lambrusche?	4 What more could I have done for my vineyard that I have not done? Why, when I expected it to yield finegrapes, has it yielded wild ones?
5 Ma ora vi farò conoscere quello che intendo fare alla mia vigna: ne toglierò la siepe, ed essa sarà devastata; ne toglierò la cinta di pietre, ed essa sarà calpestata.	5 Very wel , I shal tel you what I am going to do to my vineyard: I shal take away its hedge, for it to begrazed on, and knock down its wal , for it to be trampled on.
6 La lascerò in abbandono, ed essa non sarà potata, nè sarchiata, la ricopriranno gli sterpi e le spine, e di più comanderò alle nubi di non lasciar cadere l'acqua sopra di lei.	6 I shall let it go to waste, unpruned, undug, overgrown by brambles and thorn-bushes, and I shallcommand the clouds to rain no rain on it.
7 Or la vigna del Signore degli eserciti è la casa d'Israele, e gli uomini di Giuda son le piante scelte: aspettai che facesse secondo le leggi, ed ecco l'iniquità; (aspettai) la giustizia, ed ecco i lamenti.	7 Now, the vineyard of Yahweh Sabaoth is the House of Israel, and the people of Judah the plant hecherished. He expected fair judgement, but found injustice, uprightness, but found cries of distress.
8 Guai a voi che aggiungete case a case e poderi a poderi fino a che c'è spazio! Vi starete voi soltanto sulla terra?	8 Woe to those who add house to house and join field to field until there is nowhere left and they are thesole inhabitants of the country.
9 Ecco quanto m'è giunto all'orecchio: — Dice il Signore degli eserciti: — In verità tante case saran deserte, grandi e belle, saranno senza abitatore;	9 Yahweh Sabaoth has sworn this in my hearing, 'Many houses wil be brought to ruin, great and fine ones left untenanted;
10 perchè dieci ingerì di vigna renderanno un fiasco, e trenta moggia di seme renderanno tre moggia.	10 for ten acres of vineyard wil yield only one barrel, and ten bushel of seed wil yield only one bushel.'
11 Guai a voi che correte, appena si fa giorno, ad ubriacarvi, e sbevazzate fino alla sera, per esser cotti dal vino.	11 Woe to those who get up early to go after strong drink, and stay up late at night inflamed with wine.
12 Cetra, lira, timpano, flauto e vino nei vostri conviti; ma non date uno sguardo all'opera di Dio, non considerate le opere delle sue mani.	12 Nothing but harp and lyre, tambourine and pipe, and wine for their drinking bouts. Never a thought forthe works of Yahweh, never a glance for what his hands have done.
13 Per questo il mio popolo è stato condotto in schiavitù, perchè non ha avuto intelligenza: la nobiltà morì di fame, la moltitudine venne meno per la sete.	13 That is why my people is in exile, for want of perception; her dignitaries starving, her populace parchedwith thirst.
14 Per questo l'inferno ha dilatato il suo ventre, ha aperta la sua smisurata bocca: vi cadranno i loro campioni e il popolo superbo e pieno di boria.	14 That is why Sheol opens wide its throat and gapes with measureless jaw and down go her noblemenand populace and her loud revellers merry to the last!
15 Il plebeo sarà incurvato, il grande sarà umiliato, e gli occhi dei superbi saranno abbassati,	15 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low, and the eyes of the proud have beenhumbled.
16 e il Signore degli eserciti sarà esaltato nel (suo) giudizio, il Dio santo apparirà santo nel far giustizia.	16 Yahweh Sabaoth is the more respected for his judgement, God the Holy One has displayed hisholiness by his justice!
17 Gli agnelli pascoleranno a loro agio, e sui terreni deserti, ritornati fertili, vivranno gli stranieri.	17 Now the lambs wil graze in their old pastures, and the fields laid waste by fat cattle wil feed the kids.
18 Guai a voi che tirate l'iniquità colle funi della vanità, il peccato come colle funi il carro.	18 Woe to those who drag guilt along by the reins of duplicity, drag along sin as though with a cart rope;
19 Che dite: — S'affretti pure, venga presto a far quel che vuole, e cosi lo vedremo; s'avvicini, e sia eseguito il decreto del Santo d'Israele: così lo sapremo! —	19 to those who say, 'Why doesn't he do his work quickly so that we can see it; why doesn't the Holy Oneof Israel's design hurry up and come true so that we can experience it?'
20 Guai a voi che dite il male bene e il bene male, e date per tenebre la luce e per luce le tenebre; date l'amaro per dolce e il dolce per amaro.	20 Woe to those who cal what is bad, good, and what is good, bad, who substitute darkness for light andlight for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

23 a voi che per donativi assolvete l'empio, e togliete al giusto i suoi diritti.	23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe and deny justice to the upright.
24 Per questo, come una lingua di fuoco divora la stoppia, e il calore della fiamma la consuma, così la loro radice diventerà come una favilla, il loro germoglio sarà disperso come polvere; perchè han rigettata la legge del Signore degli eserciti, han bestemmiata la parola del Santo d'Israele.	24 Yes, as the flame devours the stubble, as the straw flares up and disappears, their root wil be likedecay and their shoot be carried off like dust, for having rejected the law of Yahweh Sabaoth, for havingdespised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Per questo il furor del Signore s'è acceso contro il suo popolo, ha steso la sua mano contro di lui e l'ha percosso: i monti tremano, i loro cadaveri giacciono come sterco in mezzo alle piazze, e, dopo tutto questo, il suo furore non è cessato e la sua mano resta stesa.	25 This is why Yahweh's anger has blazed out against his people; and he has raised his hand againstthem to strike them; why the mountains have shuddered and why corpses are lying like dung in the streets. Afteral this, his anger is not spent. No, his hand is stil raised!
26 Egli alzerà una bandiera per le nazioni lontane; con un fischio lo chiamerà dall'estremità della terra. Ed ecco egli è pronto, e verrà velocemente.	26 He hoists a signal for a distant nation, he whistles them up from the ends of the earth; and see howswift, how fleet they come!
27 Nessuno (nel suo esercito) è pigro o fiacco. Non sonnecchierà, non dormirà, non gli si scioglierà il cingolo dei suoi fianchi; non si strapperà il legaccio dei suoi calzari.	27 None of them tired, none of them stumbling, none of them asleep or drowsy, none of them with beltunfastened, none of them with broken sandal-strap.
28 Le sue frecce sono acute, son tutti tesi i suoi archi. Gli zoccoli dei suoi cavalli son come selce, le sue ruote sono impetuose come il turbine.	28 Their arrows are sharpened, their bows al strung, their horses' hoofs you would think were flint andtheir wheels, a whirlwind!
29 Il suo ruggito è come quello del leone, ruggirà come i leoncelli; fremerà, afferrerà la preda, la terrà stretta e nessuno gliela potrà levare.	29 Their roar is like that of a lioness, like fierce young lions they roar, growling they seize their prey andcarry it off, with no one to prevent it,
30 In quel giorno sopra di lui vi sarà un muggito simile alla romba del mare: guarderemo in terra, ed ecco buio d'angoscia: la luce è stata oscurata dalla sua caligine.	30 growling at it, that day, like the growling of the sea. Only look at the country: darkness and distress, andthe light turned to darkness by the clouds.
