1 Il re David disse a tutta l'assemblea: « Dio ha eletto uno solo, Salomone mio figlio ancor giovane di tenera età; ma l'opera è grandiosa perchè non si tratta di preparar l'abitazione per un uomo, ma per Iddio.	1 And king David spoke to the entire assembly: “My son Solomon, the one God has chosen, is still a tender boy. And yet the work is great, for a habitation is being prepared, not for man, but for God.
2 Or io con tutte le mie forze ho preparate le spese per la casa del mio Dio: l'oro pei vasi d'oro, l'argento per quelli d'argento, il rame per quei di rame, il ferro per quelli di ferro; i legnami per quei di legno, e pietre d'onice, e pietre simili allo stibio, pietre a vari colori, ogni sorta di pietre preziose e marmo bianco in grandissima quantità.	2 Now with all my ability, I have prepared the expenses for the house of my God: gold for items of gold, and silver for those of silver, brass for those of brass, iron for those of iron, and wood for those of wood, and stones of onyx, and stones like alabaster, and stones of diverse colors, and every kind of precious stone, and marble from Paros in great abundance.
3 Oltre a tutte queste cose che ho offerte per la casa di Dio, io dò del mio altro oro ed argento per il tempio del mio Dio, oltre quello che fio preparato pel santuario:	3 And in addition to these things that I have offered into the house of my God, I give, from my own belongings, gold and silver for the temple of my God, aside from those things that I have prepared for the holy shrine:
4 tre mila talenti d'oro d'Ofir, sette mila talenti di argento finissimo, per indorare le pareti del tempio.	4 three thousand talents of gold, from the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of highly-refined silver, for the gilding of the walls of the temple;
5 Dov'è necessario l'oro, i lavori sian fatti d'oro, dov'è necessario l'argento, sian fatti d'argento, per man d'artefici. Or se qualcuno spontaneamente vuol fare delle offerte, empia oggi la sua mano ed offra al Signore ciò che gli parrà bene ».	5 and gold for wherever there is need of gold, and silver for wherever there is need of silver, for the works to be done by the hands of the artisans. And if anyone freely offers, let him fill his hand this day, and let him offer whatever he wishes to the Lord.”
6 Allora i capi delle famiglie, i principi delle tribù d'Israele, i tribuni, i centurioni, i sopraintendenti dei possessi del re promisero.	6 And so the leaders of the families, and the nobles of the tribes of Israel, as well as the tribunes and the centurions and the overseers of the king’s possessions, promised
7 Poi diedero pei lavori della casa di Dio cinque mila talenti d'oro e dieci mila darici; dieci mila talenti d'argento e diciotto mila di rame, e cento mila talenti di ferro.	7 and gave, for the works of the house of the Lord, five thousand talents and ten thousand pieces of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of brass, and also one hundred thousand talents of iron.
8 Tutti quelli che possedevano delle pietre preziose le consegnarono a Iahiel Gersonita per i tesori della casa del Signore.	8 And whoever found precious stones among their belongings gave them to the treasuries of the house of the Lord, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9 Il popolo si rallegrò: aveva promesso spontaneamente le sue offerte e di tutto cuore le offriva al Si­gnore. Anche il re David ne ebbe grande allegrezza,	9 And the people rejoiced, since they were promising their votive offerings willingly. For they were offering these to the Lord with all their heart. And king David also rejoiced with great gladness.
10 e, benedicendo il Signore alla presenza di tutta la moltitudine, disse: « Benedetto sei tu, o Signore Dio d'I­sraele padre nostro di eternità in eternità.	10 And he blessed the Lord before the entire multitude, and he said: “Blessed are you, O Lord God of Israel, our Father from eternity to eternity.
11 Tua, o Signore, è la magnificenza, la potenza, la gloria, la vittoria; tua è la lode, perchè tutte le cose che sono in cielo e in terra son tue. Tuo, o Si­gnore, è il regno, e tu sei sopra tutti i principi.	11 Yours, O Lord, is magnificence and power and glory, and also victory; and to you is praise. For all the things that are in heaven and on earth are yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are above all rulers.
12 Tue son le ricchezze, tua è la gloria: tu domini sopra tutte le cose; nella tua mano è la forza e la potenza, nella tua mano la grandezza e l'impero su tutte le cose.	12 Yours is wealth, and yours is glory. You have dominion over all things. In your hand is virtue and power. In your hand is greatness and authority over all things.
13 Or dunque, o Dio nostro, noi ti celebriamo e lodiamo il nome tuo glorioso.	13 Now therefore, we confess to you, our God, and we praise your famous name.
14 Chi son io, e chi è il mio popolo da poter promettere a te tutte queste cose? Tutto è tuo: ti abbiamo dato quello che dalla tua mano abbiamo ricevuto.	14 Who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to promise all these things to you? All is yours. And so the things that we received from your hand, we have given to you.
15 Noi dinanzi a te siamo dei pellegrini e degli stranieri, come tutti i nostri padri. I nostri giorni sulla terra son come un'ombra e non c'è mai sosta.	15 For we are sojourners and new arrivals before you, as all our fathers were. Our days upon the earth are like a shadow, and there is no delay.
16 Signore Dio nostro, tutta que­st'abbondanza, che noi abbiamo preparata per edificare una casa al tuo santo nome, viene dalla tua mano e tutte le cose son tue.	16 O Lord our God, all this abundance, which we have prepared so that a house may be built to your holy name, is from your hand, and all things are yours.
17 Lo so, mio Dio, che tu provi i cuori e ami la semplicità, per que­sto io nella semplicità del mio cuore ho offerto con gioia tutte queste cose, e il tuo popolo qui radunato l'ho visto con gran gioia offrirti i doni.	17 I know, my God, that you test hearts, and that you love simplicity. Therefore, in the simplicity of my heart, I also have offered all these things joyfully. And I have seen, with immense gladness, your people, who have been found here, offering their donations to you.
18 Signore, Dio di Àbramo, di Isacco, di Israele padri nostri, conserva in eterno questa volontà del loro cuore, questo sentimento di venerazione verso di te duri per sempre.	18 O Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham and Isaac and Israel, preserve unto eternity this desire of their heart, and let this purpose remain forever, for the worship of you.
19 Tu dà a Salomone mio figlio un cuore perfetto, affinchè custodisca i tuoi comandamenti, le tue leggi, le tue cerimonie, ed eseguendo ogni cosa, edifichi la casa di cui ho preparate le spese ».	19 Also, I give to my son Solomon a perfect heart, so that he may keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your ceremonies, and so that he may accomplish all things, and may build the temple, for which I have prepared the expenses.”
20 Poi David disse a tutta radunanza: « Benedite il Signore Dio nostro ». Tutta l'adunanza benedisse il Signore Dio dei suoi padri, s'inchinò, adorò Dio e poi il re.	20 Then David instructed the entire assembly: “Bless the Lord our God.” And the entire assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers. And they bowed themselves, and they adored God, and next they reverenced the king.
21 Immolarono vittime al Si­gnore: e il giorno dopo offrirono in olocausto mille tori, mille mon­toni, mille agnelli, colle loro libazioni, con tutti i riti e in grande abbondanza per tutto Israele.	21 And they immolated victims to the Lord. And they offered holocausts on the following day: one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, one thousand lambs, with their libations and with every ritual, very abundantly, for all of Israel.
22 Quel giorno mangiarono e bevvero con grande allegrezza davanti al Signore, e unsero per la seconda volta Salomone, figlio di David. Lo unsero pel Signore in principe, e Sadoc in sommo sacerdote.	22 And they ate and drank before the Lord on that day, with great rejoicing. And they anointed Solomon, the son of David, a second time. And they anointed him to the Lord as the ruler, and Zadok as the high priest.
23 Salomone sedette sul trono del Signore come re, in vece di David suo padre, e fu da tutti gradito e gli ubbidì tutto Israele.	23 And Solomon sat upon the throne of the Lord as king, in place of his father David, and it pleased everyone. And all of Israel obeyed him.
24 Tutti i principi, e i magnati, e tutti i figli del re diedero la mano, e furon soggetti al re Salomone.	24 Moreover, all the leaders, and the powerful, and all the sons of king David pledged with their hand, and they became subject to king Solomon.
25 Così il Signore innalzò Salomone sopra tutto Israele o gli diede un regno glorioso, qua­le non l'ebbe prima di lui alcun re d'Israele.	25 Then the Lord magnified Solomon over all of Israel. And he gave to him a glorious reign, of a kind such as no one has had before him, as king of Israel.
26 Adunque David figlio d'Isai regnò sopra tutto Israele:	26 Now David, the son of Jesse, reigned over all of Israel.
27 il tempo che regnò fu di quarantanni: sette in Ebron; trentatrè in Gerusalemme.	27 And the days during which he reigned over Israel were forty years. He reigned seven years in Hebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
28 Egli morì in prospera vecchiaia, pieno di giorni, di ricchezze e di gloria; e gli successe nel regno il suo figlio Salomone.	28 And he died at a good old age, full of days and wealth and glory. And his son Solomon reigned in his place.
29 Or le gesta del re David, dalle prime alle ultime sono scritte nel libro del profeta Samuele, nel libro del profeta Natan e nel volume del veggente Gad,	29 Now the acts of king David, from the first to the last, have been written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,
30 colla storia di tutto il suo regno, della sua forza, dei tempi che passarono sotto di lui, sia in Israele die in tutti i regni della terra.	30 concerning his entire reign and strength, and the times that passed under him, both in Israel and in all the kingdoms of the lands.
