| 2 «Ordina, e di' questo ai figli d'Israele: - Quando sarete entrati nella terra di Canaan, e sarà diventata vostra possessione ed eredità i suoi confini saranno questi: | 2 "Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan in its full extent), |
| 3 La parte meridionale comincerà dal deserto di Sin presso Edom, e terminerà ad oriente col Mare di Sale. | 3 your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern boundary shall be from the end of the Salt Sea on the east; |
| 4 I confini di detta regione australe gireranno per la Salita dello Scorpione, in modo da passare per Senna, e giungere a mezzogiorno sino a Cadesbarne: di lì andranno alla Villa detta di Adar, e si stenderanno sino ad Asemona. | 4 and your boundary shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its end shall be south of Kadesh-barnea; then it shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon; |
| 5 Poi gireranno da Asemona sino al torrente d'Egitto, e finiranno alla costa del Gran Mare. | 5 and the boundary shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its termination shall be at the sea. |
| 6 La regione occidentale comincerà al Gran Mare, che sarà tutta la sua frontiera. | 6 "For the western boundary, you shall have the Great Sea and its coast; this shall be your western boundary. |
| 7 Per la regione settentrionale, i limiti moveranno dal Mar Grande, e giungeranno sino al Monte Altissimo; | 7 "This shall be your northern boundary: from the Great Sea you shall mark out your line to Mount Hor; |
| 8 di lì verranno per Emat sino ai confini di Sedada, | 8 from Mount Hor you shall mark it out to the entrance of Hamath, and the end of the boundary shall be at Zeded; |
| 9 ed arriveranno sino a Zefrona ed alla Villa di Enan. Son questi i confini settentrionali. | 9 then the boundary shall extend to Ziphron, and its end shall be at Hazar-enan; this shall be your northern boundary. |
| 10 Di lì poi, sul lato orientale, i confini si misureranno dalla Villa di Enan sino a Sefama; | 10 "You shall mark out your eastern boundary from Hazar-enan to Shepham; |
| 11 da Sefama scenderanno in Rebla di contro alla fonte di Dafnim; di qui giungeranno verso oriente al Mare di Ceneret, | 11 and the boundary shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and the boundary shall go down, and reach to the shoulder of the sea of Chinnereth on the east; |
| 12 si stenderanno sino al Giordano, ed in ultimo si chiuderanno al Mare di Sale. Questa sarà la terra che possederete, e questi i suoi confini tutto all'intorno-». | 12 and the boundary shall go down to the Jordan, and its end shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with its boundaries all round." |
| 13 E Mosè fece un bando a' figli d'Israele dicendo: «È questa la terra che vi toccherà in sorte, e che il Signore ha comandato si dia a nove tribù e mezzo. | 13 Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, "This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe; |
| 14 Perchè la tribù de' figli di Ruben secondo le sue famiglie, la tribù de' figli di Gad secondo il numero delle sue casate, e mezza tribù di Manasse, | 14 for the tribe of the sons of Reuben by fathers' houses and the tribe of the sons of Gad by their fathers' houses have received their inheritance, and also the half-tribe of Manasseh; |
| 15 cioè due tribù e mezzo, hanno già ricevuto la loro parte di là del Giordano, di contro a Gerico, nella regione orientale». | 15 the two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise." |
| 16 Ed il Signore disse a Mosè: | 16 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 17 «Ecco i nomi degli uomini che spartiranno la terra fra voi: Eleazaro sacerdote, Giosuè figlio di Nun, | 17 "These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun. |
| 18 ed uno de' principali d'ogni tribù, | 18 You shall take one leader of every tribe, to divide the land for inheritance. |
| 19 dei quali ecco i nomi: Della tribù di Giuda, Caleb figlio di Iefone; | 19 These are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. |
| 20 della tribù di Simeon, Samuel figlio di Ammiud; | 20 Of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. |
| 21 della tribù di Beniamino, Elidad figlio di Caselon; | 21 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon. |
| 22 della tribù de' figli di Dan, Bocci figlio di Iogli. | 22 Of the tribe of the sons of Dan a leader, Bukki the son of Jogli. |
| 23 Pei figli di Giuseppe, della tribù di Manasse, Hanniel figlio di Efod; | 23 Of the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh a leader, Hanniel the son of Ephod. |
| 24 della tribù di Efraim, Camuel figlio di Seftan. | 24 And of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim a leader, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan. |
| 25 Della tribù di Zabulon, Elisafan figlio di Farnac; | 25 Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun a leader, Eli-zaphan the son of Parnach. |
| 26 della tribù di Issacar, Faltiel principe figlio di Ozan; | 26 Of the tribe of the sons of Issachar a leader, Paltiel the son of Azzan. |
| 27 della tribù di Aser, Aiud figlio di Salomi; | 27 And of the tribe of the sons of Asher a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. |
| 28 della tribù di Neftali, Fedael figlio di Ammiud». | 28 Of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali a leader, Pedahel the son of Ammihud. |
| 29 Questi son quelli ai quali il Signore comandò che spartissero tra' figli d'Israele la terra di Canaan. | 29 These are the men whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan." |
