Geremia 32

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - La parola che fu comunicata a Geremia dal Signore, nel decimo anno di Sedecia, re di Giuda, che è l'anno decimottavo di Nabucodonosor.	1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which wasthe eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.
2 L'esercito del re Nabucodonosor assediava allora Gerusalemme, e Geremia profeta stava rinchiuso nel cortiletto del carcere che era nella casa del re di Giuda.	2 The army of the king of Babylon was then besieging Jerusalem, and the prophet Jeremiah wasconfined in the Court of the Guard in the king of Judah's palace,
3 E ve l'aveva fatto rinchiudere Sedecia, re di Giuda, dicendo: «Perchè vai profetizzando e dicendo: - Così dice il Signore: "Ecco che io darò questa città in mano del re di Babilonia che la prenderà;	3 where Zedekiah king of Judah had confined him, saying, 'Why do you keep prophesying like this,"Yahweh says this: I am going to hand this city over to the king of Babylon and he wil capture it;
4 e Sedecia re di Giuda non sfuggirà dalle mani dei Caldei, ma sarà consegnato in mano del re di Babilonia e gli parlerà bocca a bocca e lo fisserà sguardo contro sguardo;	4 and Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape the clutches of the Chaldaeans, but will certainly behanded over to the king of Babylon, speak to him personally and see him face to face.
5 ed egli in Babilonia condurrà Sedecia dove rimarrà fintanto che io lo visiti, dice il Signore; e se combatterete contro i Caldei non verrete a capo di nulla ?"».	5 He wil take Zedekiah away to Babylon and there he wil stay (until I attend to him, Yahweh declares. Ifyou fight the Chaldaeans you will not succeed!)" '
6 Disse dunque Geremia: «Il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo: -	6 Jeremiah said, 'The word of Yahweh has been addressed to me as fol ows,
7 Ecco Anameel, figlio di Sellum, tuo cugino germano verrà a te per dirti: "Acquista il mio podere che è in Anatot perchè è nei tuoi diritti per prossimità di parentela di acquistarlo".-	7 "Look, Hanamel the son of your uncle Shal um wil come to you and say: Buy my field at Anathoth, foryou have the right of redemption to purchase it."
8 Infatti Anameel, figlio del mio cugino germano, venne a me come il Signore aveva detto, nel cortile del carcere e mi disse: - Acquista il mio podere che è in Anatot, nella terra di Beniamino, perchè il diritto di successione cade a te e tu sei il prossimo parente che deve acquistarlo.- Compresi che era la parola del Signore.	8 And, as Yahweh had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me, in the Court of the Guard and said, "Buymy field at Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin, for you have the right of inheritance and right of redemption; buyit." I knew then that this was Yahweh's order.
9 Acquistai dunque da Anameel, figlio di mio cugino germano, il podere che è in Anatot, e gli pesai in denaro diciassette stateri d'argento.	9 Accordingly, I bought the field from my cousin Hanamel of Anathoth and weighed him out the money:seventeen silver shekels.
10 E misi l'atto per iscritto e lo firmai presenti i testimoni e pagai i contanti pesati sulla bilancia.	10 I drew up the deeds and sealed it, cal ed in witnesses and weighed out the money on the scales.
11 E presi l'atto di compra sigillato con le dichiarazioni e le firme e i sigilli esterni.	11 I then took both the sealed deed of purchase (with its stipulations and clauses) and its open copy
12 E consegnai l'atto di compra a Baruc, figlio di Neri figlio di Maasia, in presenza di Anameel mio cugino germano, in presenza dei testimoni inscritti nell'atto di compera e in presenza di tutti i Giudei che sedevano nel cortile del carcere.	12 and handed over the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, in the presence ofmy cousin Hanamel, of the witnesses who had signed the deed of purchase, and of al the Judaeans who thenhappened to be in the Court of the Guard.
13 In presenza di costoro dunque diedi ordine a Baruc dicendogli:	13 In their presence I gave Baruch this order,
14 - Così dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: "Prendi questi atti, l'atto di compra, questo che è sigillato, e quest'altro che è l'involto aperto e mettili in un vaso di terracotta, perchè possano conservarsi per molti giorni".-	14 "Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Take these deeds, the sealed deed of purchase and itsopen copy, and put them in an earthenware pot, so that they may be preserved for a long time.
15 Perchè, così dice il Signore degli eserciti il Dio d'Israele: -Si acquisteranno ancora case, campi e vigne in questa terra.-	15 For Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Houses, fields and vineyards wil again be bought inthis country."
16 Consegnato che ebbi l'atto di compera a Baruc, figlio di Neri, feci orazione al Signore dicendo:	16 'After I had entrusted the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to Yahweh as fol ows,
17 - Ah, ah, ah, Signore Dio, ecco che tu hai creato il cielo e la terra colla tua somma potenza e col tuo braccio steso: a te nulla sarà difficile!	17 "Ah, Lord Yahweh, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm.To you nothing is impossible.
18 Sei tu che fai grazia alle migliaia, e rovesci la colpa dei padri in seno ai figli che vengon poi, o fortissimo, o grande, o potente, il cui nome è il Signore degli eserciti;	18 You show faithful love to thousands but repay the fathers' guilt in full to their children after them. Greatand mighty God, whose name is Yahweh Sabaoth,
19 grande nel suo consiglio, incomprensibile nel suo pensiero, i cui occhi stanno aperti sopra tutte le vie dei figli di Adamo, per rimeritare ciascuno secondo le sue vie, e secondo il frutto delle sue intenzioni.	19 great in purpose, mighty in deed, whose eyes are open on al human ways, rewarding every individualas that person's ways and actions deserve!
20 Tu che hai fatto segni e portenti nella terra di Egitto fino al giorno d'oggi e in Israele e negli uomini, e ti sei fatto un nome quale oggi hai,	20 You performed signs and wonders in Egypt, as you stil do in Israel and among humanity today. Youhave won the name for yourself which is yours today.
21 e hai condotto Israele tuo popolo fuori della terra di Egitto con segni e portenti al cenno della mano robusta, del tuo braccio disteso e tra grandissimo terrore	21 You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with mighty hand andoutstretched arm and fearsome terror.
22 e hai dato ad essi questa terra che già ai loro padri avevi promesso con giuramento di dare, terra che scorre latte e miele,	22 Then you gave them this country which you had promised on oath to their ancestors, a countryflowing with milk and honey.
23 nella quale sono entrati e l'hanno occupata, ma non rimasero obbedienti alla tua voce e non camminarono nella tua legge e tutto ciò che avevi ordinato facessero, non fecero, quindi sono sopravvenuti ad essi tutti questi mali.	23 They then entered it, taking possession of it, but they would not listen to your voice nor follow yourLaw: they would do nothing you ordered them to do; and so you made this total disaster befall them.
24 Ecco, gli apparecchi per l'assalto sono rizzati contro la città per prenderla; e la città è data in mano ai Caldei che la vanno espugnando colla spada, la fame e la peste, e tutto ciò che hai detto è accaduto, come tu vedi.	24 Look! The earthworks are already in place to take the city and, by means of sword, famine andplague, the city is now within the clutches of the Chaldaeans attacking it. What you said has now come true, asyou see.
25 Ora tu dici a me, Signore Dio: "Acquista un campo, paga il denaro e assumi i testimoni mentre la città è già data in mano dei Caldei?"-».	25 Yet you yourself, Lord Yahweh, told me: Buy the field, pay for it, have it witnessed although the city isalready in the Chaldaeans' clutches." '
26 E il Signore comunicò la sua parola a Geremia dicendogli:	26 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
27 «Ecco io sono il Signore Dio di tutto il genere umano, potrà mai essere cosa alcuna difficile a me?	27 'Look, I am Yahweh, God of al humanity. Is anything impossible to me?
28 Perciò, così dice il Signore: - Ecco che io darò questa città in mano dei Caldei e in mano del re di Babilonia e la prenderanno.	28 'So, Yahweh says this, "I shal hand this city over to the Chaldaeans and to Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, and he wil capture it;
29 E i Caldei che combattono contro questa città vi penetreranno e vi metteranno il fuoco e la incendieranno colle case, sulle terrazze delle quali sacrificavano a Baal e facevano libazioni agli dèi stranieri, per irritarmi.	29 the Chaldaeans attacking this city wil enter it, fire it and burn it to the ground, with the houses onwhose roofs incense has been offered to Baal and libations poured to other gods, to provoke my anger.
30 Perchè i figli d'Israele e i figli di Giuda avevano sempre fatto il male sotto i miei occhi, fin dalle loro prime età, e i figli di Israele, sono adesso ancora quelli che mi irritano colle opere delle loro mani, dice il Signore.	30 For the people of Israel and Judah alike have done nothing but what displeases me since they wereyoung. (The people of Israel in fact have done nothing but provoke my anger by their actions, Yahweh declares.)
31 Già questa città ha dato sempre motivo alla mia ira e al mio sdegno, dal giorno che la edificarono fino ad oggi in cui sta per essere rimossa dal mio cospetto,	31 Yes, from the day when this city was built until today, it has been such cause of anger and wrath tome that I mean to remove it from my sight,
32 per le malvagità dei figli d'Israele e dei figli di Giuda che essi commisero provocandomi a sdegno, essi e i loro re e i loro principi e i loro sacerdoti e i loro profeti, la gente di Giuda e gli abitatori di Gerusalemme.	32 on account of al the wickedness the people of Israel and the people of Judah have done to provokemy anger; they, their kings, their chief men, their priests, their prophets, the people of Judah and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem.
33 Mi voltarono le spalle e non la faccia; mentre li ammaestrava tempo opportuno e li istruiva, senza che volessero ascoltarmi e accogliere l'avvertimento.	33 They turned to me their backs, never their faces; and though I taught them so urgently, so untiringly,they would not listen and accept correction.
34 E hanno collocato i loro idoli nella casa nella quale è invocato il mio nome per contaminarlo.	34 Instead, they set up their Horrors in the Temple that bears my name to defile it,
35 Ed edificarono le are di Baal che sono nella valle del figlio di Ennom, per consacrare i loro figliuoli e le loro figliuole a Moloc, cosa che io non ho mai comandato, nè mai mi sorse in mente che facessero abominazione consimile e trascinassero al peccato Giuda.-	35 and built the high places of Baal in the Val ey of Ben-Hinnom, to burn their sons and daughters alivein honour of Molech: a thing I have never ordered, that had never entered my thoughts -- that they would causeJudah to sin by anything so loathsome!
36 E ora, ad onta di ciò, così dice il Signore Dio d'Israele, a questa città, della quale voi dite che sarà data in mano del re di Babilonia per la spada, la fame e la peste:	36 "So now, this is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about this city of which you now say: By means ofsword, famine and plague, it is already within the king of Babylon's clutches:
37 - Ecco che io li raccoglierò da tutti i paesi nei quali li aveva espulsi nella mia collera e nella mia ira e nella mia grande indignazione, e li ricondurrò a questo luogo e ve li farò abitare in tutta sicurezza.	37 Look, I shall gather them in from al the countries where I have driven them in my anger, my fury andgreat wrath. I shal bring them back to this place and make them live in safety.
38 E saranno il mio popolo ed io sarò il loro Dio.	38 Then they will be my people, and I shall be their God.
39 E darò loro un cuor uno e un'unica via, affinchè mi temano in ogni tempo e abbiano bene essi e i loro figliuoli dopo di loro.	39 I shal give them singleness of heart and singleness of conduct so that they wil always fear me, fortheir own good and that of their children after them.
40 E stringerò con loro un patto sempiterno, e non cesserò più dal beneficarli, e metterò nel loro cuore il mio timore, affinchè non si ritirino più da me.	40 I shal make an everlasting covenant with them, never to cease in my efforts for their welfare, and Ishall put respect for me in their hearts, so that they wil never turn away from me again.
41 E godrò a beneficarli, e li pianterò in questo suolo in verità e con tutto il mio cuore e con tutta l'anima mia -.	41 My joy wil lie in them and in doing them good, and I shal plant them firmly in this country, with al myheart and soul.
42 Perchè così dice il Signore: - Come ho fatto venire sopra questo popolo tutto questo gran male, così farò venire su di essi tutto il bene di cui ora sto parlando ad essi.	42 For Yahweh says this: Just as I have brought this complete and total disaster on this people, so I shalbring them al the good things I have promised them.
43 E si possederanno campi, in questa terra la quale voi dite: "Resterà deserta perchè non son rimasti nè uomini, nè animali ed è data la mano ai Caldei".	43 Fields wil again be bought in this country of which you now say: It is a wasteland without human oranimal, already in the clutches of the Chaldaeans.
44 Campi se ne acquisteranno col denaro e contratti se ne scriveranno, si apporranno sigilli e si prenderanno testimoni, nella terra di Beniamino e nella cerchia di Gerusalemme, nelle città della pianura e nelle città di Giuda e nelle città della montagna, nelle città della pianura e nelle città del mezzogiorno, perchè li ricondurrò dalla schiavitù -», dice il Signore.	44 People wil buy fields, pay money, draw up deeds, seal them and have them witnessed in the territoryof Benjamin, in the districts round Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah, of the highlands, of the lowlands and of theNegeb. For I shal bring back their captives, Yahweh declares." '
