Geremia 15

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - E il Signore mi disse: «Quand'anche Mosè e Samuele si presentassero davanti a me l'animo mio non si volgerebbe più verso questo popolo; scacciali dal mio cospetto e se ne vadano!	1 Yahweh said to me, 'Even if Moses and Samuel pleaded before me, I could not sympathise with thispeople! Drive them out of my sight; away with them!
2 Se poi ti diranno: - E dove ce ne andremo? - Risponderai loro: - Così dice il Signore: "Chi alla morte, alla morte; chi alla spada, alla spada; chi alla fame, alla fame; e chi alla schiavitù, alla schiavitù".-	2 And if they ask you, "Where shal we go?" tel them this, "Yahweh says this: Those for the plague, to the plague; those for the sword, to the sword; those for famine, to famine; those for captivity, to captivity!
3 E manderò a visitarli quattro sorta di visitatori, dice il Signore: la spada per trafiggerli, i cani per dilaniarli, i volatili del cielo e le bestie della terra per divorarli e per annientarli.	3 "I shal consign them to four kinds of thing, Yahweh declares: the sword to kil , the dogs to drag away,the birds of heaven and wild animals of earth to devour and to destroy.
4 E li darò in preda alle vessazioni di tutte le genti, per lo stesso motivo di Manasse, figlio di Ezechia, re di Giuda, per tutte quelle cose che fece in Gerusalemme.	4 I shal make them an object of horror to al the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh son ofHezekiah, king of Judah, and what he did in Jerusalem." '
5 E chi può impietosirsi di te, o Gerusalemme ? Chi sentirà compassione per te, chi verrà ad impetrare per la tua pace?	5 Who is there to pity you, Jerusalem, who to grieve for you, who to go out of his way and ask how youare?
6 Tu hai abbandonato me, dice il Signore, ti sei tirata indietro, ed io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te e ti sterminerò: sono stanco di pregare!	6 'You yourself have rejected me, Yahweh declares, you have turned your back on me; so I havestretched my hand over you and destroyed you. Tired of relenting,
7 E li ventilerò col ventilabro alle porte del paese: già ne ho uccisi e fatti perire del popolo mio, e tuttavia dalle loro vie non si sono ritirati.	7 I have winnowed them with a winnow at the country's gates. They have been bereft, I have destroyedmy people, but they refuse to leave their ways.
8 Le vedove mi si sono moltiplicate più che l'arena del mare; ho fatto venire in pien meriggio sopra la madre di tanta gioventù il guastatore; ho gettato repentinamente sulle città lo spavento.	8 I have made their widows outnumber the sand of the sea. On the mother of young warriors I bring thedestroyer in broad daylight. Suddenly I bring anguish and terror down on her.
9 È venuta meno quella che ne aveva partoriti sette, le è venuta a mancare l'anima; il sole è tramontato per lei quand'era giorno ancora, è restata colla vergogna e il rossore: e i suoi superstiti li darò in preda alla spada davanti ai suoi nemici», dice il Signore.	9 The mother of seven sons grows faint and gasps for breath. It is stil day, but already her sun has set,she is dismayed and distracted; and the rest of them I shal consign to the sword, to their enemies, Yahwehdeclares.'
10 Sciagurato me, o madre mia! Perchè mi hai partorito come uomo di contesa e uomo di discordia in tutto il paese? Nessuno deve nulla a me e io non devo nulla a nessuno, eppure tutti mi maledicono!	10 A disaster for me, mother, that you bore me to be a man of strife and dissension for the wholecountry. I neither lend nor borrow, yet all of them curse me.
11 Il Signore disse: «Vedrai la fine riserbata a te se non sarà in bene, se non accorrerò io a sovvenirti nel tempo dell'angustia e della tribolazione di fronte al nemico!	11 Have I not genuinely done my best to serve you, Yahweh? Have I not interceded with you in time ofdisaster and distress!
12 Farà mai lega ferro con ferro del settentrione e bronzo?	12 'Can iron break the iron of the north and the bronze?
13 Le tue ricchezze e tuoi tesori darò in preda gratuitamente a sconto dei peccati tuoi e di quelli commessi entro ai tuoi confini.	13 Your wealth and your treasures I shal hand over to plunder, without repayment, because of all yoursins, throughout your territory.
14 E farò venire i tuoi nemici da una terra che tu non conosci, perchè un fuoco rinfocato al mio furore divamperà sopra di voi».	14 I shal enslave you to your enemies in a country which you do not know, for my anger has kindled afire that wil burn you up.'
15 Tu sai, Signore, ricordati di me, assistimi e difendimi da coloro che mi perseguitano! Non voler più prendermi colla pazienza, sappi che ho sofferto l'oltraggio per te!	15 Yahweh, you know! Remember me, take care of me, and avenge me on my persecutors. Howeverlong your anger endures, do not snatch me away. Realise that I suffer insult for your sake.
16 Le tue parole le ho trovate e le ho divorate, e la tua parola è stata di gioia e di letizia al mio cuore; perchè il tuo nome fu invocato sopra di me, Signore Dio degli eserciti.	16 When your words came, I devoured them: your word was my delight and the joy of my heart; for I wascal ed by your Name, Yahweh, God Sabaoth.
17 Io non sedetti a brigata con quei che si sollazzavano; io m'esaltava davanti all'impulso della tua mano, sedeva solitario, perchè tu mi avevi empito l'animo di minaccia.	17 I never sat in the company of scoffers amusing myself; with your hands on me I held myself aloof,since you had fil ed me with indignation.
18 Perchè il mio dolore dovrà essere continuo. Sarà la mia piaga disperata, ribelle alla guarigione? Mi è diventata come una ingannevole illusione di acque menzognere!	18 Why is my suffering continual, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Truly, for me you are adeceptive stream with uncertain waters!
19 Per questo il Signore dice così: «Se ritorni, ti farò tornare, e starai fermo nel mio cospetto; e se separerai il prezioso dal vile sarai come la mia bocca: si rivolgeranno essi a te e tu non dovrai rivolgerti a loro.	19 To which Yahweh replied, 'If you repent, I shal restore you to plead before me. If you distinguishbetween the precious and the base, you shal be as my own mouth. They will come back to you, but you mustnot go back to them.
20 Io ti renderò in faccia a questo popolo come un muro di bronzo, forte; combatteranno contro di te, ma non potranno sopraffarti, perchè io sono con te per salvarti e scamparti, dice il Signore.	20 As far as these people are concerned, I shal make you a fortified wall of bronze. They will fightagainst you but will not overcome you, because I am with you to save you and rescue you, Yahweh declares.
21 E ti libererò dalle mani dei tristi e ti riscatterò dagli artigli dei forti».	21 I shal rescue you from the clutches of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the violent.'
