1 - Salmo di David contro Golia. Benedetto il Signore Iddio mio, che addestra le mie mani alla battagliae le mie dita alla guerra,	1 A Psalm of David versus Goliath. Blessed is the Lord, my God, who trains my hands for the battle and my fingers for the war.
2 [ch'è] la mia misericordia e il mio rifugio, il mio difensore e il mio liberatore, il protettore mio nel quale spero, che sottomette il mio popolo sotto di me.	2 My mercy and my refuge, my supporter and my deliverer, my protector and him in whom I have hoped: he subdues my people under me.
3 O Signore, che cos'è l'uomo perchè tu ti mostri a lui? o il figliuolo dell'uomo perchè di lui tu ti curi?	3 O Lord, what is man that you have become known to him? Or the son of man that you consider him?
4 L'uomo è simile a un soffio, i suoi giorni com'ombra si dileguano.	4 Man has been made similar to vanity. His days pass by like a shadow.
5 O Signore, china i tuoi cieli e discendi, tocca i monti sì che fumino;	5 O Lord, incline your heavens and descend. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.
6 fulmina le folgori e disperdili, scocca le tue frecce e sgomentali.	6 Send a flash of lightning, and you will scatter them. Shoot your arrows, and you will set them in disarray.
7 Stendi la tua mano dall'alto. Tirami fuori e liberami dalle acque molte, dalla mano degli stranieri,	7 Send forth your hand from on high: rescue me, and free me from many waters, from the hand of the sons of foreigners.
8 la cui bocca parla vanità [e inganno], la cui destra è una destra spergiura.	8 Their mouth has been speaking vain things, and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.
9 O Dio, un cantico nuovo io ti canterò, sull'arpa dalle dieci corde inneggerò a te!	9 To you, O God, I will sing a new song. On the psaltery, with an instrument of ten strings, I will sing psalms to you.
10 [A te] che concedi salvezza [e vittoria] ai re, che liberasti David tuo servo dalla spada micidiale.	10 He gives salvation to kings. He has redeemed your servant David from the malignant sword.
11 Tirami via, liberamidalla mano degli stranieri, la cui bocca parla vanità [e inganno], la cui destra è una destra spergiura.	11 Rescue me, and deliver me from the hand of the sons of foreigners. Their mouth has been speaking vain things, and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.
12 I figli [de' giusti] son come piante novellenel loro rigoglio giovanile, le loro figliuole sono eleganti, adorne a mo' d'un tempio.	12 Their sons are like new plantings in their youth. Their daughters are dressed up: adorned all around like the idols of a temple.
13 Le loro dispense son piene, riboccanti di questo e di quello. Le loro pecore, feconde, abbondanti [a migliaia] ne' loro pascoli;	13 Their cupboards are full: overflowing from one thing into another. Their sheep bear young, brought forth in abundance.
14 le vacche loro, grasse [e robuste]. Non v'è rovina di breccia [nelle mura] o passaggio [indifeso], nè grida [di spavento] nelle loro piazze.	14 Their cattle are fat. There is no ruined wall or passage, nor anyone crying out in their streets.
15 Beato [tutti] dicono il popolo che ha queste cose: beato il popolo di cui il Signore è il suo Dio!	15 They have called the people that has these things: blessed. But blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.
