1 Vi proclamo poi, fratelli, il Vangelo che vi ho annunciato e che voi avete ricevuto, nel quale restate saldi	1 And so I make known to you, brothers, the Gospel that I preached to you, which you also received, and on which you stand.
2 e dal quale siete salvati, se lo mantenete come ve l’ho annunciato. A meno che non abbiate creduto invano!	2 By the Gospel, too, you are being saved, if you hold to the understanding that I preached to you, lest you believe in vain.
3 A voi infatti ho trasmesso, anzitutto, quello che anch’io ho ricevuto, cioè che Cristo morì per i nostri peccati secondo le Scritture e che	3 For I handed on to you, first of all, what I also received: that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures;
4 fu sepolto e che è risorto il terzo giorno secondo le Scritture	4 and that he was buried; and that he rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures;
5 e che apparve a Cefa e quindi ai Dodici.	5 and that he was seen by Cephas, and after that by the eleven.
6 In seguito apparve a più di cinquecento fratelli in una sola volta: la maggior parte di essi vive ancora, mentre alcuni sono morti.	6 Next he was seen by more than five hundred brothers at one time, many of whom remain, even to the present time, although some have fallen asleep.
7 Inoltre apparve a Giacomo, e quindi a tutti gli apostoli.	7 Next, he was seen by James, then by all the Apostles.
8 Ultimo fra tutti apparve anche a me come a un aborto.	8 And last of all, he was seen also by me, as if I were someone born at the wrong time.
9 Io infatti sono il più piccolo tra gli apostoli e non sono degno di essere chiamato apostolo perché ho perseguitato la Chiesa di Dio.	9 For I am the least of the Apostles. I am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God.
10 Per grazia di Dio, però, sono quello che sono, e la sua grazia in me non è stata vana. Anzi, ho faticato più di tutti loro, non io però, ma la grazia di Dio che è con me.	10 But, by the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace in me has not been empty, since I have labored more abundantly than all of them. Yet it is not I, but the grace of God within me.
11 Dunque, sia io che loro, così predichiamo e così avete creduto.	11 For whether it is I or they: so we preach, and so you have believed.
12 Ora, se si annuncia che Cristo è risorto dai morti, come possono dire alcuni tra voi che non vi è risurrezione dei morti?	12 Now if Christ is preached, that he rose again from the dead, how is it that some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 Se non vi è risurrezione dei morti, neanche Cristo è risorto!	13 For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen.
14 Ma se Cristo non è risorto, vuota allora è la nostra predicazione, vuota anche la vostra fede.	14 And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is useless, and your faith is also useless.
15 Noi, poi, risultiamo falsi testimoni di Dio, perché contro Dio abbiamo testimoniato che egli ha risuscitato il Cristo mentre di fatto non lo ha risuscitato, se è vero che i morti non risorgono.	15 Then, too, we would be found to be false witnesses of God, because we would have given testimony against God, saying that he had raised up Christ, when he had not raised him up, if, indeed, the dead do not rise again.
16 Se infatti i morti non risorgono, neanche Cristo è risorto;	16 For if the dead do not rise again, then neither has Christ risen again.
17 ma se Cristo non è risorto, vana è la vostra fede e voi siete ancora nei vostri peccati.	17 But if Christ has not risen, then your faith is vain; for you would still be in your sins.
18 Perciò anche quelli che sono morti in Cristo sono perduti.	18 Then, too, those who have fallen asleep in Christ would have perished.
19 Se noi abbiamo avuto speranza in Cristo soltanto per questa vita, siamo da commiserare più di tutti gli uomini.	19 If we have hope in Christ for this life only, then we are more miserable than all men.
20 Ora, invece, Cristo è risorto dai morti, primizia di coloro che sono morti.	20 But now Christ has risen again from the dead, as the first-fruits of those who sleep.
21 Perché, se per mezzo di un uomo venne la morte, per mezzo di un uomo verrà anche la risurrezione dei morti.	21 For certainly, death came through a man. And so, the resurrection of the dead came through a man
22 Come infatti in Adamo tutti muoiono, così in Cristo tutti riceveranno la vita.	22 And just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be brought to life,
23 Ognuno però al suo posto: prima Cristo, che è la primizia; poi, alla sua venuta, quelli che sono di Cristo.	23 but each one in his proper order: Christ, as the first-fruits, and next, those who are of Christ, who have believed in his advent.
24 Poi sarà la fine, quando egli consegnerà il regno a Dio Padre, dopo avere ridotto al nulla ogni Principato e ogni Potenza e Forza.	24 Afterwards is the end, when he will have handed over the kingdom to God the Father, when he will have emptied all principality, and authority, and power.
25 È necessario infatti che egli regni finché non abbia posto tutti i nemici sotto i suoi piedi.	25 For it is necessary for him to reign, until he has set all his enemies under his feet.
26 L’ultimo nemico a essere annientato sarà la morte,	26 Lastly, the enemy called death shall be destroyed. For he has subjected all things under his feet. And although he says,
27 perché ogni cosa ha posto sotto i suoi piedi. Però, quando dice che ogni cosa è stata sottoposta, è chiaro che si deve eccettuare Colui che gli ha sottomesso ogni cosa.	27 “All things have been subjected to him,” without doubt he does not include the One who has subjected all things to him.
28 E quando tutto gli sarà stato sottomesso, anch’egli, il Figlio, sarà sottomesso a Colui che gli ha sottomesso ogni cosa, perché Dio sia tutto in tutti.	28 And when all things will have been subjected to him, then even the Son himself will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to him, so that God may be all in all.
29 Altrimenti, che cosa faranno quelli che si fanno battezzare per i morti? Se davvero i morti non risorgono, perché si fanno battezzare per loro?	29 Otherwise, what will those who are being baptized for the dead do, if the dead do not rise again at all? Why then are they being baptized for them?
30 E perché noi ci esponiamo continuamente al pericolo?	30 Why also do we endure trials every hour?
31 Ogni giorno io vado incontro alla morte, come è vero che voi, fratelli, siete il mio vanto in Cristo Gesù, nostro Signore!	31 Daily I die, by means of your boasting, brothers: you whom I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
32 Se soltanto per ragioni umane io avessi combattuto a Èfeso contro le belve, a che mi gioverebbe? Se i morti non risorgono, mangiamo e beviamo, perché domani moriremo.	32 If, according to man, I fought with the beasts at Ephesus, how would that benefit me, if the dead do not rise again? “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die.”
33 Non lasciatevi ingannare: «Le cattive compagnie corrompono i buoni costumi».	33 Do not be led astray. Evil communication corrupts good morals.
34 Tornate in voi stessi, come è giusto, e non peccate! Alcuni infatti dimostrano di non conoscere Dio; ve lo dico a vostra vergogna.	34 Be vigilant, you just ones, and do not be willing to sin. For certain persons have an ignorance of God. I say this to you with respect.
35 Ma qualcuno dirà: «Come risorgono i morti? Con quale corpo verranno?».	35 But someone may say, “How do the dead rise again?” or, “What type of body do they return with?”
36 Stolto! Ciò che tu semini non prende vita, se prima non muore.	36 How foolish! What you sow cannot be brought back to life, unless it first dies.
37 Quanto a ciò che semini, non semini il corpo che nascerà, ma un semplice chicco di grano o di altro genere.	37 And what you sow is not the body that will be in the future, but a bare grain, such as of wheat, or of some other grain.
38 E Dio gli dà un corpo come ha stabilito, e a ciascun seme il proprio corpo.	38 For God gives it a body according to his will, and according to each seed’s proper body.
39 Non tutti i corpi sono uguali: altro è quello degli uomini e altro quello degli animali; altro quello degli uccelli e altro quello dei pesci.	39 Not all flesh is the same flesh. But one is indeed of men, another truly is of beasts, another is of birds, and another is of fish.
40 Vi sono corpi celesti e corpi terrestri, ma altro è lo splendore dei corpi celesti, altro quello dei corpi terrestri.	40 Also, there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But while the one, certainly, has the glory of heaven, the other has the glory of earth.
41 Altro è lo splendore del sole, altro lo splendore della luna e altro lo splendore delle stelle. Ogni stella infatti differisce da un’altra nello splendore.	41 One has the brightness of the sun, another the brightness of the moon, and another the brightness of the stars. For even star differs from star in brightness.
42 Così anche la risurrezione dei morti: è seminato nella corruzione, risorge nell’incorruttibilità;	42 So it is also with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown in corruption shall rise to incorruption.
43 è seminato nella miseria, risorge nella gloria; è seminato nella debolezza, risorge nella potenza;	43 What is sown in dishonor shall rise to glory. What is sown in weakness shall rise to power.
44 è seminato corpo animale, risorge corpo spirituale. Se c’è un corpo animale, vi è anche un corpo spirituale. Sta scritto infatti che	44 What is sown with an animal body shall rise with a spiritual body. If there is an animal body, there is also a spiritual one.
45 il primo uomo, Adamo, divenne un essere vivente, ma l’ultimo Adamo divenne spirito datore di vita.	45 Just as it was written that the first man, Adam, was made with a living soul, so shall the last Adam be made with a spirit brought back to life.
46 Non vi fu prima il corpo spirituale, ma quello animale, e poi lo spirituale.	46 So what is, at first, not spiritual, but animal, next becomes spiritual.
47 Il primo uomo, tratto dalla terra, è fatto di terra; il secondo uomo viene dal cielo.	47 The first man, being earthly, was of the earth; the second man, being heavenly, will be of heaven.
48 Come è l’uomo terreno, così sono quelli di terra; e come è l’uomo celeste, così anche i celesti.	48 Such things as are like the earth are earthly; and such things as are like the heavens are heavenly.
49 E come eravamo simili all’uomo terreno, così saremo simili all’uomo celeste.	49 And so, just as we have carried the image of what is earthly, let us also carry the image of what is heavenly.
50 Vi dico questo, o fratelli: carne e sangue non possono ereditare il regno di Dio, né ciò che si corrompe può ereditare l’incorruttibilità.	50 Now I say this, brothers, because flesh and blood is not able to possess the kingdom of God; neither will what is corrupt possess what is incorrupt.
51 Ecco, io vi annuncio un mistero: noi tutti non moriremo, ma tutti saremo trasformati,	51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. Certainly, we shall all rise again, but we shall not all be transformed:
52 in un istante, in un batter d’occhio, al suono dell’ultima tromba. Essa infatti suonerà e i morti risorgeranno incorruttibili e noi saremo trasformati.	52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise up, incorruptible. And we shall be transformed.
53 È necessario infatti che questo corpo corruttibile si vesta d’incorruttibilità e questo corpo mortale si vesta d’immortalità.	53 Thus, it is necessary for this corruptibility to be clothed with incorruptibility, and for this mortality to be clothed with immortality.
54 Quando poi questo corpo corruttibile si sarà vestito d’incorruttibilità e questo corpo mortale d’immortalità, si compirà la parola della Scrittura: La morte è stata inghiottita nella vittoria.	54 And when this mortality has been clothed with immortality, then the word that was written shall occur: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 Dov’è, o morte, la tua vittoria? Dov’è, o morte, il tuo pungiglione?	55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 Il pungiglione della morte è il peccato e la forza del peccato è la Legge.	56 Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 Siano rese grazie a Dio, che ci dà la vittoria per mezzo del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo!	57 But thanks be to God, who has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Perciò, fratelli miei carissimi, rimanete saldi e irremovibili, progredendo sempre più nell’opera del Signore, sapendo che la vostra fatica non è vana nel Signore.	58 And so, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and unmovable, abounding always in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not useless in the Lord.
