BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Il re Davide disse a tutta l’assemblea: «Salomone, mio figlio, il solo che Dio ha scelto, è giovane e inesperto, mentre l’impresa è grandiosa, perché l’edificio non è per un uomo ma per il Signore Dio.	1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.
2 Con tutta la mia forza ho fatto preparativi per il tempio del mio Dio; ho preparato oro su oro, argento su argento, bronzo su bronzo, ferro su ferro, legname su legname, ònici, brillanti, topazi, pietre di vario valore e pietre preziose e marmo bianco in quantità.	2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.
3 Inoltre, per il mio amore per il tempio del mio Dio, quanto possiedo in oro e in argento lo dono per il tempio del mio Dio, oltre a quanto ho preparato per il santuario:	3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-
4 tremila talenti d’oro, d’oro di Ofir, e settemila talenti d’argento raffinato per rivestire le pareti interne,	4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,
5 l’oro per gli oggetti in oro, l’argento per quelli in argento e per tutti i lavori eseguiti dagli artefici. E chi vuole ancora riempire oggi la sua mano per fare offerte al Signore?».	5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'
6 Fecero allora offerte i capi di casato, i capi delle tribù d’Israele, i comandanti di migliaia e di centinaia e i sovrintendenti agli affari del re.	6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,
7 Essi diedero per l’opera del tempio di Dio cinquemila talenti d’oro, diecimila dàrici, diecimila talenti d’argento, diciottomila talenti di bronzo e centomila talenti di ferro.	7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,
8 Quanti si ritrovarono in possesso di pietre preziose le diedero nelle mani di Iechièl il Ghersonita, perché fossero depositate nel tesoro del tempio del Signore.	8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9 Il popolo gioì per queste loro offerte, perché erano fatte al Signore con cuore sincero; anche il re Davide gioì vivamente.	9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.
10 Davide benedisse il Signore sotto gli occhi di tutta l’assemblea. Davide disse: «Benedetto sei tu, Signore, Dio d’Israele, nostro padre, ora e per sempre.	10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!
11 Tua, Signore, è la grandezza, la potenza, lo splendore, la gloria e la maestà: perché tutto, nei cieli e sulla terra, è tuo. Tuo è il regno, Signore: ti innalzi sovrano sopra ogni cosa.	11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .
12 Da te provengono la ricchezza e la gloria, tu domini tutto; nella tua mano c’è forza e potenza, con la tua mano dai a tutti ricchezza e potere.	12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.
13 Ed ora, nostro Dio, noi ti ringraziamo e lodiamo il tuo nome glorioso.	13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,
14 E chi sono io e chi è il mio popolo, per essere in grado di offrirti tutto questo spontaneamente? Tutto proviene da te: noi, dopo averlo ricevuto dalla tua mano, te l’abbiamo ridato.	14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,
15 Noi siamo forestieri davanti a te e ospiti come tutti i nostri padri. Come un’ombra sono i nostri giorni sulla terra e non c’è speranza.	15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.
16 Signore, nostro Dio, quanto noi abbiamo preparato per costruire una casa al tuo santo nome proviene da te ed è tutto tuo.	16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.
17 So, mio Dio, che tu provi i cuori e ti compiaci della rettitudine. Io, con cuore retto, ho offerto spontaneamente tutte queste cose. Ora io vedo con gioia che anche il tuo popolo qui presente ti porta offerte spontanee.	17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.
18 Signore, Dio di Abramo, di Isacco e d’Israele, nostri padri, custodisci per sempre questa disposizione come intimo intento del cuore del tuo popolo. Dirigi i loro cuori verso di te.	18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,
19 A Salomone, mio figlio, concedi un cuore sincero, perché custodisca i tuoi comandi, le tue istruzioni e le tue norme, perché esegua tutto ciò e costruisca l’edificio per il quale io ho fatto i preparativi».	19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'
20 Davide disse a tutta l’assemblea: «Benedite dunque il Signore, vostro Dio!». Tutta l’assemblea benedisse il Signore, Dio dei loro padri; si inginocchiarono e si prostrarono davanti al Signore e al re.	20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.
21 Offrirono sacrifici al Signore e gli bruciarono olocausti il giorno dopo: mille giovenchi, mille arieti, mille agnelli con le loro libagioni, oltre a numerosi sacrifici per tutto Israele.	21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-
22 Mangiarono e bevvero alla presenza del Signore in quel giorno con grande gioia. Di nuovo proclamarono re Salomone, figlio di Davide, e unsero per il Signore lui come capo e Sadoc come sacerdote.	22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.
23 Salomone sedette sul trono del Signore come re al posto di Davide, suo padre; prosperò e tutto Israele gli fu sottomesso.	23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.
24 Tutti i comandanti, i prodi e anche tutti i figli del re Davide si sottomisero al re Salomone.	24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.
25 Il Signore rese grande Salomone agli occhi di tutto Israele e gli diede un regno così splendido, che nessun predecessore in Israele aveva mai avuto.	25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.
26 Davide, figlio di Iesse, regnò su tutto Israele.	26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.
27 La durata del suo regno su Israele fu di quarant’anni: a Ebron regnò sette anni e a Gerusalemme regnò trentatré anni.	27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.
28 Morì in vecchiaia, sazio di anni, di ricchezza e di gloria. Al suo posto divenne re suo figlio Salomone.	28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.
29 Le gesta del re Davide, dalle prime alle ultime, sono descritte nei libri del veggente Samuele, nel libro del profeta Natan e nel libro del veggente Gad,	29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,
30 con tutta la storia del suo regno, della sua potenza e di quanto in quei tempi accadde a lui, a Israele e a tutti i regni del mondo.	30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.
