1 Toda sabiduría viene del Señor, y con él está por siempre.	1 All wisdom comes from the LORD and with him it remains forever.
2 La arena de los mares, las gotas de la lluvia, los días de la eternidad, ¿quién los puede contar?	2 The sand of the seashore, the drops of rain, the days of eternity: who can number these?
3 La altura del cielo, la anchura de la tierra, la profundidad del abismo, ¿quién los alcanzará?	3 Heaven's height, earth's breadth, the depths of the abyss: who can explore these?
4 Antes de todo estaba creada la Sabiduría, la inteligente prudencia desde la eternidad.	4 Before all things else wisdom was created; and prudent understanding, from eternity.
	5 To whom has wisdom's root been revealed? Who knows her subtleties?
6 La raíz de la sabiduría ¿a quién fue revelada?, sus recursos, ¿quién los conoció?	6 There is but one, wise and truly awe-inspiring, seated upon his throne:
	7 It is the LORD; he created her, has seen her and taken note of her.
8 Sólo uno hay sabio, en extremo temible, el que en su trono está sentado.	8 He has poured her forth upon all his works, upon every living thing according to his bounty; he has lavished her upon his friends.
9 El Señor mismo la creó, la vio y la contó y la derramó sobre todas sus obras,	9 Fear of the LORD is glory and splendor, gladness and a festive crown.
10 en toda carne conforme a su largueza, y se la dispensó a los que le aman.	10 Fear of the LORD warms the heart, giving gladness and joy and length of days.
11 Gloria es y orgullo el temor del Señor, contento y corona de júbilo.	11 He who fears the LORD will have a happy end; even on the day of his death he will be blessed.
12 El temor del Señor recrea el corazón, da contento y recocijo y largos días.	12 The beginning of wisdom is fear of the LORD, which is formed with the faithful in the womb.
13 Para el que teme al Señor, todo irá bien al fin, en el día de su muerte se le bendecirá.	13 With devoted men was she created from of old, and with their children her beneficence abides.
14 Principio de la sabiduría es temer al Señor, fue creada en el seno materno juntamente con los fieles.	14 Fullness of wisdom is fear of the LORD; she inebriates men with her fruits.
15 Entre los hombres puso su nido, fundación eterna, y con su linaje se mantendrá fielmente.	15 Her entire house she fills with choice foods, her granaries with her harvest.
16 Plenitud de la sabiduría es temer al Señor, ella les embriaga de sus frutos.	16 Wisdom's garland is fear of the LORD, with blossoms of peace and perfect health.
17 Toda su casa colma de cosas deseables, y de sus productos sus graneros.	17 Knowledge and full understanding she showers down; she heightens the glory of those who possess her.
18 Corona de la sabiduría el temor del Señor, ella hace florecer paz y buena salud.	18 The root of wisdom is fear of the LORD; her branches are length of days.
19 (El la vio y la contó), ciencia y conocimiento inteligente hizo llover, y la gloria de los que la poseen exaltó.	19 One cannot justify unjust anger; anger plunges a man to his downfall.
20 Raíz de la sabiduría es temer al Señor, sus ramas, los largos días.	20 A patient man need stand firm but for a time, and then contentment comes back to him.
	21 For a while he holds back his words, then the lips of many herald his wisdom.
22 No puede justificarse la pasión del injusto, que el impulso de su pasión le hace caer.	22 Among wisdom's treasures is the paragon of prudence; but fear of the LORD is an abomination to the sinner.
23 Hasta su hora aguanta el que es paciente, mas después se le brinda contento.	23 If you desire wisdom, keep the commandments, and the LORD will bestow her upon you;
24 Hasta su hora oculta sus palabras, y entonces muchos labios prolamarán su inteligencia.	24 For fear of the LORD is wisdom and culture; loyal humility is his delight.
25 En los tesoros de la sabiduría están las máximas de la ciencia, mas abominación para el pecador es la piedad para con Dios.	25 Be not faithless to the fear of the LORD, nor approach it with duplicity of heart.
26 Si apeteces sabiduría, guarda los mandamientos, y el Señor te la dispensará.	26 Play not the hypocrite before men; over your lips keep watch.
27 Pues sabiduría y enseñanza es el temor del Señor; su complacencia, la fidelidad y mansedumbre.	27 Exalt not yourself lest you fall and bring upon you dishonor;
28 No seas indócil al temor del Señor, ni te acerques a él con corazón partido.	28 For then the LORD will reveal your secrets and publicly cast you down,
29 No seas hipócrita delante de los hombres, pon guardia a tus labios.	29 Because you approached the fear of the LORD with your heart full of guile.
