1 [Für den Chormeister. Ein Psalm Davids. Ein Lied.]	1 For the leader. A psalm of David; a song.
2 Gott steht auf, seine Feinde zerstieben; die ihn hassen, fliehen vor seinem Angesicht.	2 God will arise for battle; the enemy will be scattered; those who hate God will flee.
3 Sie verfliegen, wie Rauch verfliegt; wie Wachs am Feuer zerfließt, so vergehen die Frevler vor Gottes Angesicht.	3 The wind will disperse them like smoke; as wax is melted by fire, so the wicked will perish before God.
4 Die Gerechten aber freuen sich und jubeln vor Gott; sie jauchzen in heller Freude.	4 Then the just will be glad; they will rejoice before God; they will celebrate with great joy.
5 Singt für Gott, spielt seinem Namen; jubelt ihm zu, ihm, der auf den Wolken einherfährt! Preist seinen Namen! Freut euch vor seinem Angesicht!	5 Sing to God, praise the divine name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before this God whose name is the LORD.
6 Ein Vater der Waisen, ein Anwalt der Witwen ist Gott in seiner heiligen Wohnung.	6 Father of the fatherless, defender of widows-- this is the God whose abode is holy,
7 Gott bringt die Verlassenen heim, führt die Gefangenen hinaus in das Glück; doch die Empörer müssen wohnen im dürren Land.	7 Who gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert.
8 Gott, als du deinem Volk voranzogst, als du die Wüste durchschrittest, [Sela]	8 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah
9 da bebte die Erde, da ergossen sich die Himmel vor Gott, vor Gott, dem Herrn vom Sinai, vor Israels Gott.	9 The earth quaked, the heavens shook, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.
10 Gott, du ließest Regen strömen in Fülle und erquicktest dein verschmachtendes Erbland.	10 You claimed a land as your own, O God;
11 Deine Geschöpfe finden dort Wohnung; Gott, in deiner Güte versorgst du den Armen.	11 your people settled there. There you poured abundant rains, God, graciously given to the poor in their need.
12 Der Herr entsendet sein Wort; groß ist der Siegesbotinnen Schar.	12 All you people so numerous,
13 Die Könige der Heere fliehen, sie fliehen. Im Haus verteilt man die Beute.	13 b) Every household will share the booty,
14 Was bleibt ihr zurück in den Hürden? Du Taube mit silbernen Schwingen, mit goldenem Flügel!	14 c) its wings covered with yellow gold."
15 Als der Allmächtige die Könige vertrieb, fiel Schnee auf dem Zalmon.	15 When the Almighty routed the kings there, the spoils were scattered like snow on Zalmon.
16 Ein Gottesberg ist der Baschanberg, ein Gebirge, an Gipfeln reich, ist der Baschan.	16 You high mountains of Bashan, you rugged mountains of Bashan,
17 Warum blickt ihr voll Neid, ihr hohen Gipfel, auf den Berg, den Gott sich zum Wohnsitz erwählt hat? Dort wird der Herr wohnen in Ewigkeit.	17 You rugged mountains, why look with envy at the mountain where God has chosen to dwell, where the LORD resides forever?
18 Die Wagen Gottes sind zahllos, tausendmal tausend. Vom Sinai zieht der Herr zu seinem Heiligtum.	18 God's chariots were myriad, thousands upon thousands; from Sinai the Lord entered the holy place.
19 Du zogst hinauf zur Höhe, führtest Gefangene mit; du nahmst Gaben entgegen von den Menschen. Auch Empörer müssen wohnen bei Gott, dem Herrn.	19 You went up to its lofty height; you took captives, received slaves as tribute. No rebels can live in the presence of God.
20 Gepriesen sei der Herr, Tag für Tag! Gott trägt uns, er ist unsre Hilfe. [Sela]	20 Blessed be the Lord day by day, God, our salvation, who carries us. Selah
21 Gott ist ein Gott, der uns Rettung bringt, Gott, der Herr, führt uns heraus aus dem Tod.	21 Our God is a God who saves; escape from death is in the LORD God's hands.
22 Denn Gott zerschmettert das Haupt seiner Feinde, den Kopf des Frevlers, der in Sünde dahinlebt.	22 God will crush the skulls of the enemy, the hairy heads of those who walk in sin.
23 Der Herr hat gesprochen: «Ich bringe (sie) vom Baschan zurück, ich bringe (sie) zurück aus den Tiefen des Meeres.	23 The Lord has said: "Even from Bashan I will fetch them, fetch them even from the depths of the sea.
24 Dein Fuß wird baden im Blut, die Zunge deiner Hunde ihren Anteil bekommen an den Feinden.»	24 You will wash your feet in your enemy's blood; the tongues of your dogs will lap it up."
25 Gott, sie sahen deinen Einzug, den Einzug meines Gottes und Königs ins Heiligtum:	25 Your procession comes into view, O God, your procession into the holy place, my God and king.
26 voraus die Sänger, die Saitenspieler danach, dazwischen Mädchen mit kleinen Pauken.	26 The singers go first, the harpists follow; in their midst girls sound the timbrels.
27 Versammelt euch und preist unsern Gott, den Herrn in der Gemeinde Israels:	27 In your choirs, bless God; bless the LORD, you from Israel's assemblies.
28 voran der kleine Stamm Benjamin, im Zug die Fürsten von Juda, die Fürsten von Sebulon, die Fürsten von Naftali.	28 In the lead is Benjamin, few in number; there the princes of Judah, a large throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali, too.
29 Biete auf, o Gott, deine Macht, die Gottesmacht, die du an uns erwiesen hast	29 Summon again, O God, your power, the divine power you once showed for us.
30 avon deinem Tempel aus, hoch über Jerusalem. Könige kommen mit Gaben.	30 Show it from your temple on behalf of Jerusalem, that kings may bring you tribute.
31 Wehr ab das Untier im Schilf, die Rotte der Starken, wehr ab die Herrscher der Völker! Sie sind gierig nach Silber, tritt sie nieder; zerstreue die Völker, die Lust haben am Krieg.	31 Roar at the wild beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls, the lords of nations; scatter the nations that delight in war.
32 Aus Ägypten bringt man Geräte von Erz, Kusch erhebt zu Gott seine Hände.	32 Exact rich tribute from lower Egypt, from upper Egypt, gold and silver; make Ethiopia extend its hands to God.
33 Ihr Königreiche der Erde, singt für Gott, singt und spielt für den Herrn, [Sela]	33 You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; chant the praises of the Lord, Selah
34 der dahinfährt über den Himmel, den uralten Himmel, der seine Stimme erhebt, seine machtvolle Stimme.	34 Who rides the heights of the ancient heavens, whose voice is thunder, mighty thunder.
35 Preist Gottes Macht! Über Israel ragt seine Hoheit empor, seine Macht ragt bis zu den Wolken.	35 Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky.
36 Gott in seinem Heiligtum ist voll Majestät, Israels Gott; seinem Volk verleiht er Stärke und Kraft. Gepriesen sei Gott.	36 Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
