Psalmen 53

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 [Für den Chormeister. Nach der Weise «Krankheit». Ein Weisheitslied Davids.]	1 Unto the end, for Maeleth, understandings to David. The fool said in his hear t: There is no God.
2 Die Toren sagen in ihrem Herzen: «Es gibt keinen Gott.» Sie handeln verwerflich und schnöde; da ist keiner, der Gutes tut.	2 They are corrupted, and become abominable in iniquities: there is none that doth good.
3 Gott blickt vom Himmel herab auf die Menschen, ob noch ein Verständiger da ist, der Gott sucht.	3 God looked down from heaven on the children of men: to see if there were any that did understand, or did seek God.
4 Alle sind sie abtrünnig und verdorben, keiner tut Gutes, auch nicht ein Einziger.	4 All have gone aside, they are become unprofitable together, there is none that doth good, no not one.
5 Haben denn die Übeltäter keine Einsicht? Sie verschlingen mein Volk. Sie essen Gottes Brot, doch seinen Namen rufen sie nicht an.	5 Shall not all the workers of iniquity know, who eat up my people as they eat bread?
6 Es trifft sie Furcht und Schrecken, obwohl doch nichts zu fürchten ist. Deinen Bedrängern hat Gott die Glieder zerschlagen. Gott lässt sie scheitern, denn er hat sie verworfen.	6 They have not called upon God: there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear. For God hath scattered the bones of them that please men: they have been confounded, because God hath despised them.
7 Ach käme doch vom Zion Hilfe für Israel! Wenn Gott einst das Geschick seines Volkes wendet, dann jubelt Jakob, dann freut sich Israel.	7 Who will give out of Sion the salvation of Israel? when God shall bring back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
