Lettera ai Romani 10

1 Fratelli, il desiderio del mio cuore, e l'orazione, che io fo a Dio, è per la loro salvezza.	1 Brothers, certainly the will of my heart, and my prayer to God, is for them unto salvation.
2 Imperocché io fo loro fede, che hanno zelo di Dio, ma non secondo la scienza.	2 For I offer testimony to them, that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3 Imperocché non conoscendo la giustizia di Dio, e cercando di stabilire la propria, non si sono soggettati alla giustizia di Dio.	3 For, being ignorant of the justice of God, and seeking to establish their own justice, they have not subjected themselves to the justice of God.
4 Imperocché il termine della legge è Cristo per dar la giustizia a tutti coloro, che credono.	4 For the end of the law, Christ, is unto justice for all who believe.
5 Imperocché Mosé scrìsse, che l'uomo, il quale avrà adempiuta la giustizia, che vien dalla legge, per essa viverà.	5 And Moses wrote, about the justice that is of the law, that the man who will have done justice shall live by justice.
6 Ma la giustizia, che vien dalla fede, dice cosi: Non istare a dire in cuor tuo: chi salirà in cielo? Viene a dire per farne scendere il Cristo:	6 But the justice that is of faith speaks in this way: Do not say in your heart: “Who shall ascend into heaven?” (that is, to bring Christ down);
7 O chi scenderà nell'abisso? Viene a dire per risuscitare il Cristo da morte.	7 “Or who shall descend into the abyss?” (that is, to call back Christ from the dead).
8 Ma che dice la scrittura? Tu hai presso di te la parola nella tua bocca, e nel cuor tuo: questa è la parola della fede, che noi predichiamo.	8 But what does Scripture say? “The word is near, in your mouth and in your heart.” This is the word of faith, which we are preaching.
9 Perché se con la tua bocca confesserai il Signore Gesù, e crederai in cuor tuo, che Dio lo ha risuscitato da morte, e sarai salvo.	9 For if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and if you believe in your heart that God has raised him up from the dead, you shall be saved.
10 Imperocché col cuore si crede a giustizia: e con la bocca si fa confessione a salute.	10 For with the heart, we believe unto justice; but with the mouth, confession is unto salvation.
11 Imperocché dice la scrittura: Chiunque in lui crede, non sarà confuso.	11 For Scripture says: “All those who believe in him shall not be confounded.”
12 Imperocché non vi ha distinzione di Giudeo, o di Greco: Conciossiachè lo stesso è il Signore di tutti, ricco per tutti coloro, che lo invocano.	12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. For the same Lord is over all, richly in all who call upon him.
13 Conciossiachè chiunque invocherà il nome del Signore, sarà salvo.	13 For all those who have called upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 Ma come invocheranno uno, in cui non hanno creduto? E come crederanno in uno, di cui non hanno sentito parlare? Come poi ne sentiranno parlare senza chi predichi?	14 Then in what way will those who have not believed in him call upon him? Or in what way will those who have not heard of him believe in him? And in what way will they hear of him without preaching?
15 Come poi predicheranno, se non sono mandati? Come sta scritto: Quanto sono belli i piedi di coloro, che evangelizzano novella della pace, che evangelizzano novella di felicità!	15 And truly, in what way will they preach, unless they have been sent, just as it has been written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who evangelize peace, of those who evangelize what is good!”
16 Ma non tutti ubbidiscono all'Evangelio. Mentre Isaia dice: Signore, chi ha creduto quello, che ha sentito da noi?	16 But not all are obedient to the Gospel. For Isaiah says: “Lord, who has believed our report?”
17 La fede adunque dall'udito, l'udito poi per la parola di Cristo.	17 Therefore, faith is from hearing, and hearing is through the Word of Christ.
18 Ma, dico io: forse che non hanno sentito? Anzi per tutta la terra si è sparso il suono di essi, e le loro parole fino alle estremità della terra.	18 But I say: Have they not heard? For certainly: “Their sound has gone forth throughout all the earth, and their words unto the limits of the whole world.”
19 Ma, dico io: forse Israele non ne seppe nulla? Mosè è il primo a dire: Vi metterò a picca con una nazione che non è nazione: con una nazione stolta vi muoverò a sdegno.	19 But I say: Has Israel not known? First, Moses says: “I will lead you into a rivalry with those who are not a nation; in the midst of a foolish nation, I will send you into wrath.”
20 Isaia poi più francamente dice: Mi hanno trovato coloro, che non mi cercavano: mi sono fatto pubblicamente vedere a coloro, che non domandavano di me.	20 And Isaiah dares to say: “I was discovered by those who were not seeking me. I appeared openly to those who were not asking about me.”
21 Ad Israele poi dice: Tutto il dì stesi le mani mie al popolo incredulo, e contraddittore.	21 Then to Israel he says: “All day long I have stretched out my hands to a people who do not believe and who contradict me.”
