BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 « Figlio dell'uomo, di' al principe di Tiro: Così parla il Signore Dio: Perchè il tuo cuore si è insuperbito, e hai detto: « Io sono un dio, e come in trono di Dio mi sono assiso in mezzo al mare », mentre tu sei un uomo e non un dio sebbene ti attribuisca un cuore come quello di Dio. —	2 'Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Because your heart has grownproud, you thought: I am a god; I am divinely enthroned far out to sea. Though you are human, not divine, youhave allowed yourself to think like God.
3 Ecco tu sei più saggio di Daniele, nessun arcano ti è nascosto;	3 So, you are wiser than Danel; no sage as wise as you!
4 colla tua sapienza, colla tua prudenza ti sei fatto forte ed hai fatto entrare oro ed argento nei tuoi tesori;	4 By your wisdom and your intel igence you have made yourself a fortune, you have put gold and silverinto your treasuries.
5 colla grandezza della tua sapienza e col tuo commercio hai accresciuta la tua potenza e per la tua forza il tuo cuore s'è insuperbito.	5 Such is your skill in trading, your fortune has continued to increase, and your fortune has made yourheart grow prouder.
6 Per questo, così parla il Signore Dio: Perchè il tuo cuore s'è innalzato come il cuore di un dio,	6 "And so, the Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have al owed yourself to think like God,
7 per questo, ecco che io farò venire? contro di te gli stranieri, i più forti fra i popoli, e sguaineranno le spade loro contro la bellezza della tua sapienza e contamineranno il tuo splendore.	7 very wel , I am going to bring foreigners against you, the most barbarous of the nations. They wil draw sword against your fine wisdom, they wil desecrate your splendour,
8 Ti uccideranno e ti getteranno per terra, e tu avrai la morte di coloro che sono uccisi in mezzo al mare.	8 they will throw you down into the grave and you wil die a violent death far out to sea.
9 E dirai ancora: «Io sono un dio » dinanzi a quelli ebe ti uccidono, tu che sei un uomo e non un dio, tra le mani di coloro che ti sgozzano?	9 Wil you stil think: I am a god, when your slaughterers confront you? But you will be human, not divine,in the clutches of the ones who strike you down!
10 Tu morrai della morte degli incirconcisi, per mano di stranieri; perchè io ho parlato — dice il Signore Dio.	10 You wil die like the uncircumcised at the hand of foreigners. "For I have spoken -- declares the LordYahweh." '
11 La parola del Signore mifu indirizzata in questi termini: « Figlio dell'uomo, pronunzia una lamentazione sul re di Tiro,	11 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
12 e di' a lui: Così parla il Signore Dio: Tu, sigillo di somiglianza, pieno di sapienza e perfetto inbellezza,	12 'Son of man, raise a lament for the king of Tyre. Say to him, "The Lord Yahweh says this: You usedto be a model of perfection, ful of wisdom, perfect in beauty;
13 tu fosti nelle delizie del paradiso di Dio, coperto d'ogni specie di pietre preziose: sardio, topazio, iaspide, crisolito, onice, berillo, saffìro, carbonchio,smeraldo, e l'oro ti dava splen­dore, e i tuoi (gioielli) bucati eran già preparati nel giorno di tua creazione.	13 you were in Eden, in the garden of God. Al kinds of gem formed your mantle: sard, topaz, diamond,chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, garnet, emerald, and your ear-pendants and spangles were made of gold; alwas ready on the day you were created.
14 Tu eri un cheru­bino colle ali stese per protegge­re, ed io ti posi nel santo montedi Dio, tu camminasti in mezzoa pietre fiammanti.	14 I made you a living creature with outstretched wings, as guardian, you were on the holy mountain ofGod; you walked amid red-hot coals.
15 Eri perfet­to nelle tue vie dal giorno in cui fosti creato fino a tanto che non fu trovata in te l'iniquità.	15 Your behaviour was exemplary from the day you were created until guilt first appeared in you,
16 Nel moltiplicarsi del tuo traffico il tuo interno si riempì d'iniquità, e tu peccasti, ed io ti scacciai dal mon­te di Dio, e ti ho fatto perire, o cherubino protettore, di mezzo alle pietre di fuoco,	16 because your busy trading has fil ed you with violence and sin. I have thrown you down from themountain of God and destroyed you, guardian winged creature, amid the coals.
17 perchè il tuo cuore s'insuperbì nella tua magnificenza, tu perdesti la tua sapienza a causa del tuo splendore; ed io ti gettai per terra, ti esposi davanti ai re, affinchè ti mirassero.	17 Your heart has grown proud because of your beauty, your wisdom has been corrupted by yoursplendour. I have thrown you to the ground; I have made you a spectacle for kings.
18 Col gran numero delle tue iniquità, colle ingiustizie del tuo commercio contaminasti il tuo santuario; io dunque farò uscire di mezzo a te un fuoco che ti divori, e ti ridurrò in cenere sulla terra davanti a tutti quelli che ti guardano.	18 By the immense number of your crimes, by the dishonesty of your trading, you have defiled yoursanctuary. So I have brought fire out of you to devour you; I have reduced you to ashes on the ground before theeyes of al who saw you.
19 Fra le nazioni, tutti quelli che ti vedranno, per te saran presi dallo stupore: tu sei ridotto al niente e non sarai più in perpetuo ».	19 Of the nations, al who know you are stunned at your fate. You are an object of terror; gone for ever."'
20 La parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:	20 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
21 « Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la faccia tua contro Sidone, profetizza sopra di lei,	21 'Son of man, turn towards Sidon and prophesy against her.
22 e di': Così parla il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o Sidone, io sarò glorificato in mezzo a te, e sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando avrò compiti contro di lei i miei giudizi ed avrò mostrato la mia santità in lei.	22 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am against you, Sidon, I will show my glory in you! They wilknow I am Yahweh, once I execute sentence on her and display my holiness in her.
23 Io le manderò la peste, e il sangue nelle sue piazze, e cadranno in mezzo a lei degli uccisi dalla spada da ogni parte, e sapranno che io sono il Signore.	23 For I shall send her the plague, and there wil be blood in her streets, and in her the dead wil falunder the sword raised against her from al sides, and they will know that I am Yahweh.
24 E allora essa non sarà più per la casa d'Israele di scandalo, di amarezza, di spina dolorosa da ogni parte fra quelli che l'attorniano e la combattono, e sapranno che io sono il Signore.	24 "No more, for the House of Israel, shall any of the hostile nations surrounding them be a thorn thatwounds or a briar that tears; and they will know that I am Yahweh.
25 Cosi parla il Signore Dio: Quando io avrò radunata la casa d'Israele di mezzo ai popoli tra i quali è dispersa, in lei mostrerò la mia santità davanti alle nazioni, ed essi abiteranno nella loro terra da me data a Giacobbe mio servo. 26 E vi abiteranno senza timori e fabbricherai! case e pianteranno vigne e vi abiteranno con sicurezza quando io avrò eseguiti i giudizi su tutti i loro vicini che li disprezzano e sapranno che io sono il Signore loro Dio ».	25 "The Lord Yahweh says this: When I gather the House of Israel back from the peoples where theyare dispersed, I shal display my glory in them for the nations to see. They wil live on the soil which I gave to myservant Jacob.
	26 They will live there in confidence, build houses, plant vineyards. They wil live in safety, once I inflictpunishments on all the hostile nations surrounding them, and they will know that I am Yahweh their God." '
