1 Per la fine. Tra i cantici istruttivi di David	1 Unto the end, for Maeleth, understandings to David. The fool said in his hear t: There is no God.
2 Quando gli Zifei andarono a dire a Saul: « Oh non s'è nascosto tra noi David? »	2 They are corrupted, and become abominable in iniquities: there is none that doth good.
3 Salvami pel tuo nome, o Dio, rendimi giustizia colla tua potenza.	3 God looked down from heaven on the children of men: to see if there were any that did understand, or did seek God.
4 O Dio, esaudisci la mia preghiera, porgi l'orecchio alle parole della mia bocca.	4 All have gone aside, they are become unprofitable together, there is none that doth good, no not one.
5 Perché degli stranieri si son levati contro di me, dei violenti m'attentano la vita; gente che non tiene Dio davanti agli occhi.	5 Shall not all the workers of iniquity know, who eat up my people as they eat bread?
6 Ma ecco Dio m'aiuta, il Signore difende la mia vita.	6 They have not called upon God: there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear. For God hath scattered the bones of them that please men: they have been confounded, because God hath despised them.
7 Fai ricadere il male sopra i miei nemici, nella tua fedeltà annientali.	7 Who will give out of Sion the salvation of Israel? when God shall bring back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
8 Allora t'offrirò spontanei sacrifizi, e darò lode al tuo nome, perchè è buono,
9 Perchè tu m'hai salvato da ogni tribolazione, e l'occhio mio può guardar con disprezzo i miei nemici.
