Prima lettera ai Corinzi 11

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Siate imitatori miei, come anch'io sono di Cristo.	1 Take me as your pattern, just as I take Christ for mine.
2 Vi lodo poi, fratelli, perchè in ogni cosa vi ricordate di me, e ritenete, come ve le ho date, le istruzioni mie.	2 I congratulate you for remembering me so consistently and for maintaining the traditions exactly as Ipassed them on to you.
3 Voglio però che sappiate, che d'ogni uomo il capo è Cristo, e che il capo della moglie è il marito, e il capo di Cristo è Dio.	3 But I should like you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man,and the head of Christ is God.
4 Qualunque uomo preghi o profetizzi avendo la testa coperta, disonora il suo capo;	4 For any man to pray or to prophesy with his head covered shows disrespect for his head.
5 e qualunque donna preghi o profetizzi senza velo sulla testa, disonora il suo capo,	5 And for a woman to pray or prophesy with her head uncovered shows disrespect for her head; it isexactly the same as if she had her hair shaved off.
6 poichè, se non si vela la donna, si tagli anche i capelli; e se è turpe per la donna il tagliarsi i capelli e radersi, si veli dunque.	6 Indeed, if a woman does go without a veil, she should have her hair cut off too; but if it is a shamefulthing for a woman to have her hair cut off or shaved off, then she should wear a veil.
7 L'uomo no, non deve coprir di velo la testa, essendo immagine e gloria di Dio; e la donna è gloria dell'uomo.	7 But for a man it is not right to have his head covered, since he is the image of God and reflects God'sglory; but woman is the reflection of man's glory.
8 Poichè non viene l'uomo dalla donna, ma la donna dall'uomo,	8 For man did not come from woman; no, woman came from man;
9 nè fu fatto l'uomo per la donna, ma la donna per l'uomo.	9 nor was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man:
10 Per questo deve la donna aver sulla testa il segno della sua dipendenza, per via degli angeli.	10 and this is why it is right for a woman to wear on her head a sign of the authority over her, becauseof the angels.
11 Però nel Signore, nè la donna è indipendente dall'uomo, nè l'uomo può essere senza la donna;	11 However, in the Lord, though woman is nothing without man, man is nothing without woman;
12 poichè come la donna è dell'uomo così l'uomo [nasce] per mezzo della donna, e tutto è da Dio.	12 and though woman came from man, so does every man come from a woman, and everything comesfrom God.
13 Giudicatene voi stessi; è decoroso che donna senza velo rivolga preghiera a Dio?	13 Decide for yourselves: does it seem fitting that a woman should pray to God without a veil?
14 Non insegna la natura stessa, che se l'uomo porta lunghi capelli, è per lui disonore,	14 Does not nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,
15 e per la donna invece la capigliatura è gloria? giacchè la chioma a lei è stata data in luogo di velo.	15 but when a woman has long hair, it is her glory? After all, her hair was given to her to be a covering.
16 Se poi qualcuno si compiace a contendere, noi siffatto costume non l'abbiamo, neanche le Chiese di Dio.	16 If anyone wants to be contentious, I say that we have no such custom, nor do any of the churches ofGod.
17 Dichiaro poi questo, a biasimo non a lode, che voi vi radunate non per il meglio ma per far peggio.	17 Now that I am on the subject of instructions, I cannot congratulate you on the meetings you hold;they do more harm than good.
18 Prima di tutto, quando vi adunate in chiesa, sento che vi son tra voi delle divisioni; e in parte ci credo;	18 In the first place, I hear that when you al come together in your assembly, there are separatefactions among you, and to some extent I believe it.
19 bisogna bene vi siano tra voi dei partiti, perchè diventino riconoscibili quelli degni d'approvazione.	19 It is no bad thing, either, that there should be differing groups among you so that those who are to betrusted among you can be clearly recognised.
20 Radunandovi dunque assieme, non è che mangiate la cena del Signore;	20 So, when you meet together, it is not the Lord's Supper that you eat;
21 poichè ciascuno s'affretta a prendere e consumare la propria cena, e c'è chi patisce la fame e chi invece si ubriaca.	21 for when the eating begins, each one of you has his own supper first, and there is one going hungrywhile another is getting drunk.
22 O non avete le vostre case per mangiare e bere? Avete forse in dispregio la Chiesa di Dio, e volete fare arrossire quelli che non possedon nulla? Che vi ho a dire? vi loderò di ciò? no, in questo non vi lodo.	22 Surely you have homes for doing your eating and drinking in? Or have you such disregard for God'sassembly that you can put to shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Congratulate you? Onthis I cannot congratulate you.
23 Poichè quello che io ho trasmesso, anche a voi, l'ho ricevuto dal Signore; e ciò è che il Signore Gesù la notte in cui fu tradito, prese del pane,	23 For the tradition I received from the Lord and also handed on to you is that on the night he wasbetrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread,
24 e dopo rese grazie a Dio, lo spezzò e disse: «Prendete e mangiate; questo è il mio corpo che sarà immolato per voi; fate questo in ricordo mio».	24 and after he had given thanks, he broke it, and he said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this inremembrance of me.'
25 E parimente, dopo cenato, prese il bicchiere dicendo: «Questo calice è il nuovo patto nel mio sangue, e quante volte ne beviate, fate questo per ricordo di me.	25 And in the same way, with the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood.Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.'
26 Poichè quante volte voi mangiate questo pane e bevete questo calice, voi rammenterete l'annunzio della morte del Signore, fino a che egli venga».	26 Whenever you eat this bread, then, and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord's death until hecomes.
27 Cosicchè chi mangi il pane o beva il calice del Signore indegnamente, sarà reo del corpo e del sangue del Signore.	27 Therefore anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily is answerable for thebody and blood of the Lord.
28 Esamini ognuno se stesso, e così mangi di quel pane e beva di quel calice;	28 Everyone is to examine himself and only then eat of the bread or drink from the cup;
29 poichè chi mangia e beve indegnamente, se non riconosce il corpo del Signore, mangia e beve la propria condanna.	29 because a person who eats and drinks without recognising the body is eating and drinking his owncondemnation.
30 Per questo vi son tra voi molti deboli e privi d'ogni forza, e tanti giacciono.	30 That is why many of you are weak and il and a good number have died.
31 Se ci esaminassimo bene da per noi stessi, non saremmo condannati;	31 If we were critical of ourselves we would not be condemned,
32 ma giudicati dal Signore siamo castigati per non essere col mondo condannati.	32 but when we are judged by the Lord, we are corrected by the Lord to save us from being condemnedalong with the world.
33 Cosicchè, fratelli miei, radunandovi per mangiare, aspettatevi gli uni gli altri.	33 So then, my brothers, when you meet for the Meal, wait for each other;
34 E se uno ha fame, mangi a casa sua onde non vi raduniate a vostra condanna. Le altre cose poi regolerò alla mia venuta.	34 anyone who is hungry should eat at home. Then your meeting wil not bring your condemnation. Theother matters I shal arrange when I come.
