Lettera ai Romani 12

1 - Vi esorto dunque, o fratelli, per la misericordia di Dio, a offrire i vostri corpi come ostia vivente santa, gradevole a Dio, ciò che è il vostro culto ragionevole;	1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 e non conformatevi al secolo presente, ma trasformatevi col rinnovamento del vostro spirito, affinchè possiate ravvisare qual è la volontà di Dio, ciò che è bene e gradevole e perfetto.	2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 Perchè, per la grazia che a me è stata data, dico a ciascuno che è tra voi, di non voler farsi saggio al di là del giusto limite, ma presuma solo di sè sino al grado della prudente saviezza, secondo che a ciascuno Dio distribuì la misura della fede.	3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 Poichè come in unico corpo abbiamo varie membra, e le membra non hanno tutte la stessa funzione,	4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 così noi molti siamo un corpo solo in Cristo, e, per i rapporti reciproci, siamo membri gli uni degli altri.	5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6 E secondo la grazia data a noi abbiamo doni differenti: o la profezia, [e chi l'ha, deve usarla] secondo la proporzione della fede;	6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 o il ministero, [e chi v'è chiamato, attenda] al ministero; così chi insegna [si dedichi] a insegnare;	7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 chi esorta [lavori] nell'esortazione; chi dà, [lo faccia] con semplicità; chi presiede, [lo faccia] con tutto impegno: chi fa opere di pietà [le faccia] con animo ilare.	8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9 L'amore sia senza ipocrisia. Odiando il male, siate attaccati al bene;	9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10 con amor fraterno amandovi gli uni gli altri, e quanto a rispetto, anteponendo ciascuno gli altri a se stesso.	10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11 Per diligenza non tardi; di spirito ferventi; a Dio servendo;	11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12 nella speranza rallegrandovi, nelle tribolazioni pazienti, perseveranti nella preghiera.	12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 Ai bisogni dei santi prendete parte, praticate l'ospitalità.	13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14 Benedite quelli che vi perseguitano, benedite e non maledite.	14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rallegrarsi con chi gode, piangere con chi piange.	15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Abbiate gli stessi sentimenti gli uni per gli altri; non alte cose presumendo, ma accompagnandovi cogli umili. «Non siate savi agli occhi di voi medesimi».	16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 A nessuno rendete male per male, ricercando il bene a tutti gli uomini.	17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 Se possibile per quant'è da voi, abbiate pace con tutti gli uomini;	18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 non vendicandovi da voi stessi, o diletti, ma date luogo all'ira divina, perchè sta scritto: «A me la vendetta, io darò la retribuzione», dice il Signore.	19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Anzi: «Se ha fame il tuo nemico dagli da mangiare; se ha sete, abbeveralo; poichè facendo così radunerai carboni di fuoco sopra la sua testa».	20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Non lasciarti vincere dal male, ma vinci nel bene il male.	21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
