1 - Al corifeo: su strumenti a corda. Ode di David,	1 To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none that does good.
2 quando vennero gli Zifei e dissero a Saul: «Non è forse David nascosto presso di noi?».	2 God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any that are wise, that seek after God.
3 Signore, nel tuo nome salvami, e con la tua potenza fammi giustizia.	3 They have all fallen away; they are all alike depraved; there is none that does good, no, not one.
4 O Dio, ascolta la mia preghiera, presta orecchio alle parole della mia bocca,	4 Have those who work evil no understanding, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?
5 perchè [nemici] stranieri sono insorti contro di me, e de' violenti cercan l'anima mia, e non han Dio dinanzi a' loro occhi.	5 There they are, in great terror, in terror such as has not been! For God will scatter the bones of the ungodly; they will be put to shame, for God has rejected them.
6 Ma ecco, Iddio m'aiuta, e il Signore è il difensore dell'anima mia.	6 O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice and Israel be glad.
7 Rivolgi i mali sui miei nemicie nella tua fedeltà disperdili!
8 Di buon grado offrirò a te sacrifizi, e darò lode al tuo nome, o Signore, perch'è buono.
9 Giacchè, d'ogni tribolazione tu m'hai estratto, e su' miei nemici si posa con sprezzo l'occhio mio.
