BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Cantico dè gradini. Di Salomone. Se il Signore non edifica la casa, si affaticano invano quei che l'edificano. Se il Signore non custodisce la città, invano veglia il custode.	1 [Song of Ascents] When Yahweh brought back Zion's captives we lived in a dream;
2 Vano è per voi levarvi anzi giornoe andar tardi al riposo, e mangiare il pane de' travagli: altrettanto egli dà al suo diletto nel sonno!	2 then our mouths fil ed with laughter, and our lips with song. Then the nations kept saying, 'What greatdeeds Yahweh has done for them!'
3 Ecco, l'eredità del Signore sono i figliuoli: la [sua] ricompensa, il frutto del seno.	3 Yes, Yahweh did great deeds for us, and we were overjoyed.
4 Quali frecce nella mano d'un valente [guerriero], tali sono i figli della gioventù.	4 Bring back, Yahweh, our people from captivity like torrents in the Negeb!
5 Beato l'uomo che ha appagatola sua brama con essi: non sarà confuso, quando parlerà ai suoi nemici sulla porta.	5 Those who sow in tears sing as they reap.
	6 He went off, went off weeping, carrying the seed. He comes back, comes back singing, bringing inhis sheaves.
