BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Joatam aveva venticinque anni quando cominciò a regnare e regnò sedici anni in Gerusalemme. Sua madre aveva nome Jerusa, figlia di Sadoc.	1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah daughter of Zadok.
2 Egli operò ciò che era giusto dinanzi al Signore, secondo tutto quello che fece il padre suo Ozia; soltanto non entrò nel tempio del Signore. Il popolo intanto continuava a prevaricare.	2 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Uzziah had done. Only he did not enterYahweh's sanctuary. But the people continued to do wrong.
3 Egli fabbricò la porta superiore del tempio e fece molte costruzioni sul muro di Ofel.	3 It was he who built the Upper Gate of the Temple of Yahweh and carried out considerable work on thewal of the Ophel.
4 Fabbricò città sulle montagne di Giuda, e castelli e torri fra i boschi.	4 He also built towns in the highlands of Judah and built forts and towers in the wooded areas.
5 Combattè contro il re dei figli di Ammon e li sconfisse. E i figli di Ammon gli pagarono in quel tempo cento talenti d'argento, diecimila cori di frumento e altrettanti di orzo; e altrettanti gli pagarono nel secondo e terzo anno.	5 He also went to war against the king of the Ammonites and defeated them; and the Ammonites had togive him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand kor of wheat and ten thousand of barley that year. And theAmmonites paid him the same amount, the second and third years afterwards.
6 Joatam pertanto divenne potente, perchè diresse le sue vie dinanzi al Signore suo Dio.	6 Jotham became powerful because he kept an unswerving course before Yahweh his God.
7 Il rimanente delle opere di Joatam, le sue guerre e tutto ciò che fece, venne descritto nel libro dei re d'Israele e di Giuda.	7 The rest of the history of Jotham, al his wars and his policy, are recorded in the Book of the Kings ofIsrael and Judah.
8 Aveva venticinque anni quando divenne re e regnò sedici anni in Gerusalemme.	8 He was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem.
9 Joatam si addormentò coi suoi padri e fu sepolto nella città di Davide e in sua vece regnò Acaz.	9 Then Jotham fel asleep with his ancestors, and was buried in the City of David; his son Ahazsucceeded him.
