1 - Poi Giacobbe fece chiamare i suoi figliuoli, e disse loro: «Radunatevi, ch'io v'annunzi che cosa sarà per accadere negli ultimi tempi.	1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
2 Radunatevi ed ascoltate, figli di Giacobbe; udite Israele vostro padre.	2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
3 Ruben, mio primogenito, tu mia forza, e principio del mio dolore;[eri] il primo nei doni, il maggiore nel potere;	3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4 ma ti sei versato come acqua, e non crescerai, perchè salisti sul letto del padre tuo, e macchiasti il suo talamo.	4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
5 Simeone e Levi fratelli, strumenti iniqui di violenza;	5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.
6 non sia la mia anima a parte de' loro consigli, il mio cuore non partecipi alle loro congreghe; perchè nel loro furore uccisero uomini, e di lor mala volontà rovesciarono la muraglia.	6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
7 Maledetto il loro furore, perchè violento, ed il loro sdegno, perchè crudele. Li dividerò entro Giacobbe, li disperderò entro Israele.	7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
8 Giuda, i tuoi fratelli ti loderanno; la tua mano sul collo de' nemici, a te s'inchineranno i figli del padre tuo.	8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
9 Giuda è un leoncello. Corresti, figlio mio, alla preda; poi, per riposarti, t'accovacciasti come un leone, o come una leonessa; chi oserà svegliarlo?	9 Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
10 Lo scettro non verrà ritolto a Giuda, nè l'impero alla sua discendenza, sinchè venga Chi dev'esser mandato; ed Egli sarà l'aspettato delle nazioni.	10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
11 Legherà alla vigna il suo asinello, ed alla vite, o figliuolo, l'asina sua. Laverà nel vino la sua veste, e nel sangue dell'uva il suo mantello.	11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
12 Più belli del vino sono i suoi occhi, e più bianchi del latte i suoi denti.	12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
13 Zabulon abiterà vicino al mare, vicino all'approdo delle navi, stendendosi verso Sidone.	13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon.
14 Issacar, asino forte che riposa nella sua stalla;	14 Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:
15 vide che era buono il riposo, ed ottima la terra. Sottopose le sue spalle al fardello, e s'è assoggettato ai tributi.	15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
16 Dan giudicherà il suo popolo, come ogni altra tribù d'Israele.	16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Sarà Dan un serpente sulla via, una cerasta sul sentiero, che morde il piede al cavallo, e fa cadere indietro il cavaliere.	17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
18 O Signore, io aspetterò la tua salvezza.	18 I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.
19 Gad, tutto armato, combatterà avanti agli altri, ed armato tornerà indietro.	19 Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.
20 Aser, eccellente è il suo pane, e fornirà delizie al re.	20 Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
21 Neftali, cervo in libertà, dà parole piene di bellezza.	21 Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.
22 Rampollo crescente è Giuseppe, rampollo crescente e bello d'aspetto: le [sue] rame s'alzarono sopra il muro.	22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
23 Ma lo provocarono, contesero con lui, gli ebbero invidia gli armati di frecce.	23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
24 Poggiò sul forte il suo arco, le catene delle sue braccia e delle sue mani furono sciolteper mano del Potente di Giacobbe; di lì è uscito il pastore e la pietra d'Israele.	24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
25 Iddio di tuo padre sarà il tuo aiuto, e l'Onnipotente ti benedirà con le benedizioni del cielo di sopra, con le benedizioni dell'abisso, di sotto, con le benedizioni del seno e del ventre.	25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
26 Le benedizioni del padre tuo superaronole benedizioni dei padri di lui, sinchè venga il desiderio dei colli eterni; si compiano sul capo di Giuseppe, sulla fronte di lui eletto tra i suoi fratelli.	26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
27 Beniamino, lupo rapace, al mattino divorerà la preda, ed alla sera spartirà le spoglie».	27 Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
28 Tutti questi sono i capi delle dodici tribù d'Israele. Queste cose disse a loro il padre, benedicendo ciascuno con particolare benedizione.	28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
29 E comandò loro, dicendo: «Io sto per essere riunito al mio popolo. Seppellitemi coi padri miei nella spelonca doppia, che è nel campo di Hefron l'Heteo,	29 And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
30 di faccia a Mambre nella terra di Canaan, comprata da Abramo insieme al campo da Efron l'Heteo per avervi il suo sepolcro.	30 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.
31 Ivi fu seppellito egli, e Sara sua moglie; ivi fu sepolto Isacco con la moglie Rebecca; ivi è sepolta anche Lia».	31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.
32 Terminato che ebbe di dare ai figli questi ordini, raccolse i piedi sul letto, e morì, e fu riunito al suo popolo.	32 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth.
	33 And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
