| 1 «Tra i figli di Israele fa avvicinare a te Aronne tuo fratello e i suoi figli affinchè esercitino il sacerdozio in mio onore: Aronne, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazaro e Itamar, figli di Aronne. | 1 “Also, join to yourself your brother Aaron, with his sons from the midst of the sons of Israel, so that they may exercise the priesthood for me: Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. |
| 2 Per tuo fratello Aronne preparerai vesti sacre come splendido ornamento. | 2 And you shall make a holy vestment for Aaron, your brother, with glory and elegance. |
| 3 Ne parlerai a tutti gli artisti, a coloro che io ho riempito di spirito di saggezza ed essi faranno le vesti di Aronne affinchè egli sia consacrato per esercitare il sacerdozio in mio onore. | 3 And you shall speak to all the wise of heart, whom I have filled with the spirit of prudence, so that they may make the vestments of Aaron, in which, having been sanctified, he may minister to me. |
| 4 Faranno queste vesti; un pettorale, un efod, un manto, una tunica ricamata, un turbante e una cintura. Faranno vesti sacre per tuo fratello Aronne e per i suoi figli, affinchè esercitino il sacerdozio in mio onore, | 4 Now these shall be the vestments that they shall make: A breastplate and an ephod, a tunic and a close-fit linen garment, a headdress and a wide belt. They shall make the holy vestments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so that they may exercise the priesthood for me. |
| 5 Essi useranno oro, porpora viola e rossa, scarlatto e bisso. | 5 And they shall receive gold, and hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine linen. |
| 6 Faranno l’efod con oro, con porpora viola e rossa, scarlatto e bisso ritorto: lavoro da ricamatore. | 6 Then they shall make the ephod of gold, and hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine twisted linen, wrought with diverse colors. |
| 7 Unite a esso ci saranno due spalline; sarà unito alle spalline alle sue due estremità. | 7 It shall have two edges joined at the top on both sides, so that they may respond as one. |
| 8 La sciarpa che è su di esso, per legarlo, sarà dello stesso lavoro e costituirà un tutt’uno con esso: oro, porpora viola e rossa, scarlatto e bisso ritorto. | 8 Likewise, the weaving and all the detail work shall be of gold, and hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine twisted linen. |
| 9 Prenderai due pietre d’onice e su di esse inciderai i nomi dei figli di Israele; | 9 And you shall take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel: |
| 10 sei nomi sopra la prima pietra, gli altri sei sopra la seconda pietra in ordine di anzianità. | 10 six names on one stone, and the remaining six on the other, according to the order of their birth. |
| 11 Farai incidere le due pietre con i nomi dei figli di Israele e le inserirai come un lavoro di arte lapidaria, come le incisioni d’un sigillo, in castoni d’oro. | 11 By the work of a sculptor and the skill of a jeweler, you shall engrave them with the names of the sons of Israel, enclosed and encompassed with gold. |
| 12 Porrai le due pietre sulle spalline dell’efod; saranno pietre di ricordo dei figli di Israele. Aronne porterà sulle due spalline i loro nomi al cospetto di Jahve, in ricordo. | 12 And you shall place them on both sides of the ephod, as a memorial to the sons of Israel. And Aaron shall carry their names before the Lord, upon both shoulders, as a remembrance. |
| 13 Farai castoni d’oro | 13 You shall also make hooks of gold, |
| 14 e due catenelle d’oro Puro a treccia, come si lavorano i cordoni. Fisserai sopra i castoni queste catenelle a treccia. | 14 and two little chains of the purest gold, linked to one another, which you shall insert into the hooks. |
| 15 Farai il pettorale del giudizio, lavoro da ricamatore, di fattura uguale a quella dell’efod; lo farai con oro, porpora viola e rossa, scarlatto e bisso ritorto. | 15 Likewise, you shall make the breastplate of judgment, wrought with diverse colors according to weaving of the ephod: of gold, hyacinth and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine twisted linen. |
| 16 Sarà quadrato e doppio, lungo una spanna e largo una spanna. | 16 It shall have four corners and be doubled. It shall have the measure of the palm of a hand, both in length and in width. |
| 17 Lo riempirai con quattro file di pietre: un rubino, un topazio e uno smeraldo nella prima fila; | 17 And you shall set within it four rows of stones. In the first row, there shall be a sardius stone, and a topaz, and an emerald. |
| 18 una malachite, uno zaffiro e un diamante nella seconda fila; | 18 In the second, there shall be a garnet, a sapphire, and a jasper. |
| 19 un’agata, un giacinto e un’ametista nella terza fila; | 19 In the third, there shall be a zircon, an agate, and an amethyst. |
| 20 un crisolito, un onice e un diaspro nella quarta fila. Saranno incastonate in castoni d'oro. | 20 In the fourth, there shall be a chrysolite, an onyx, and a beryl. They shall be set in gold by their rows. |
| 21 Le pietre corrisponderanno al numero dei nomi dei figli di Israele. Saranno dodici secondo i loro nomi e saranno incise come i sigilli. Ciascuna avrà il proprio nome secondo le dodici tribù. | 21 And these shall have the names of the sons of Israel. With twelve names shall they be engraved: each stone with one name from the twelve tribes. |
| 22 Per il pettorale preparerai catenelle d’oro puro intrecciate come i cordoni. | 22 You shall make chains of the purest gold, linked one to another, on the breastplate, |
| 23 Farai, per il pettorale, due anelli d’oro e li disporrai alle due estremità del pettorale. | 23 and two rings of gold, which you shall place at both ends of the breastplate. |
| 24 Fisserai i due cordoni d’oro ai due anelli sulle estremità superiori del pettorale. | 24 And the golden chains, you shall join to the rings, which are at its edges. |
| 25 Fisserai ai due castoni le altre due estremità dei cordoni: così le sistemerai sulle spalline dell’efod, dalla parte anteriore. | 25 And the ends of the chains themselves, you shall couple with two hooks, on both sides of the ephod, which looks toward the breastplate. |
| 26 Farai due anelli d’oro e li metterai sulle due estremità inferiori del pettorale, sull’orlo interno, dal lato dell’efod. | 26 You shall also make two rings of gold, which you shall place at the ends of the breastplate, at the borders which are away from the region of the ephod and which look toward its back. |
| 27 Farai due anelli d’oro e li fisserai in fondo alla parte anteriore, sulle due spalline dell’efod, vicino al punto di unione, al disopra della sciarpa dell’efod; | 27 And then you shall also make two other rings of gold, which are to be suspended on both sides at the bottom of the ephod, which looks out opposite the face of the lower juncture, so that the breastplate can be fitted to the ephod. |

| 29 Così, quando Aronne entrerà nel santuario, porterà sul pettorale del giudizio i nomi dei figli di Israele sul petto, come ricordo eterno al cospetto di Jahve. | 29 And Aaron shall carry the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgment upon his chest, when he enters into the Sanctuary, as a memorial in the presence of the Lord in eternity. |
| 30 Al pettorale del giudizio unirai gli Urim e i Tummim, affinchè siano sul petto di Aronne quando entra al cospetto di Jahve: Aronne porterà sempre sul petto, al cospetto di Jahve, il giudizio dei figli di Israele. | 30 Then you shall place in the breastplate of judgment, Doctrine and Truth, which shall then be upon Aaron’s chest, when he enters before the Lord. And he shall wear the judgment of the sons of Israel on his chest, in the sight of the Lord always. |
| 31 Farai il manto dell’efod, tutto intero, di porpora viola. | 31 And you shall make the tunic for the ephod entirely of hyacinth, |
| 32 Nel mezzo avrà un’apertura per a testa; l’orlo, intorno all’apertura, sarà un lavoro di tessitura: avrà un’apertura come quella di una corazza, così non si lacererà. | 32 and the head will be above its middle, with a hem woven around it, just as is usually made at the end parts of a garment, so that it may not be easily broken. |
| 33 Intorno all’orlatura inferiore farai melegrane di porpora viola, rossa e di scarlatto; e tutt’intorno porrai, in mezzo a esse, piccoli campanelli d’oro. | 33 Yet truly, beneath it, at the base of the same tunic, all around, you shall make something like pomegranates, from hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, with little bells set in their midst. |
| 34 Tutt’intorno all’orlatura inferiore del manto si alterneranno un piccolo campanello d’oro e una melagrana, un piccolo campanello d’oro e una melagrana. | 34 So then, there shall be a little golden bell and a pomegranate, and again another golden bell and a pomegranate. |
| 35 Aronne lo porterà per officiare, così che se ne senta il tintinnio quando entra nel santuario al cospetto di Jahve e quando ne esce: così non morirà. | 35 And Aaron will be vested with it during the office of his ministry, so that the sound may be heard when he enters and exits the Sanctuary, in the sight of the Lord, and so that he may not die. |
| 36 Farai una lamina di oro puro e su di essa inciderai come sui sigilli “ Consacrato a Jahve ”. | 36 And you shall make a plate of the purest gold, in which you shall engrave, with the skill of a sculptor, ‘Holy to the Lord.’ |
| 37 La munirai di un nastro di porpora viola e la disporrai sul turbante: deve restare sulla parte anteriore del turbante. | 37 And you shall fasten it with a band of hyacinth, and it shall be upon the headdress, |
| 38 Starà sulla fronte di Aronne e Aronne porterà così le colpe per le offerte sacre che i figli di Israele presenteranno: per tutte le loro offerte sacre. Sarà, quindi, sempre sulla fronte di Aronne per attirare su di loro la benevolenza al cospetto di Jahve. | 38 hanging in front of the high priest. And Aaron shall carry the iniquities of that which the sons of Israel have offered and sanctified, in all their gifts and donations. But the plate will always be at his forehead, so that the Lord may be well pleased with them. |
| 39 Tesserai la tunica di bisso, farai un turbante di bisso e farai una cintura in ricamo variopinto. | 39 And you shall draw the tunic tight with fine linen, and you shall make a headdress of fine linen, and a wide belt, wrought with embroidery. |
| 40 Per i figli di Aronne farai tuniche e cinture; farai ancora per essi un copricapo a gloria e a splendore. | 40 Furthermore, for the sons of Aaron, you shall prepare linen tunics, and wide belts as well as headdresses, with glory and elegance. |
| 41 Con esse vestirai Aronne tuo fratello e i suoi figli. Poi li ungerai, li investirai e li consacrerai affinchè esercitino il sacerdozio in mio onore. | 41 And with all these you shall vest your brother Aaron, and his sons with him. And you shall consecrate all their hands, and you shall sanctify them, so that they may exercise the priesthood for me. |
| 42 Per ricoprire la nuda carne fa’ loro mutande di lino che scendano dai reni fino alle cosce. | 42 You shall also make linen undergarments, in order to cover the flesh of their nakedness, from the kidneys all the way to the thighs. |
| 43 Aronne e i suoi figli le indosseranno quando entrano nella Tenda del convegno o quando si accostano all’altare per officiare nel santuario, affinchè non si addossino una mancanza e ne muoiano: statuto perpetuo per lui e per la sua posterità ». | 43 And Aaron and his sons will use them when they enter the tabernacle of the testimony, and when they approach toward the altar, in order to minister in the sanctuary, lest, being guilty of iniquity, they may die. It shall be a law forever for Aaron, and for his offspring after him.” |
