Proverbios 2

BIBLIA	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Hijo mío, si das acogida a mis palabras, y guardas en tu memoria mis mandatos,	1 My son, if you would accept my words, and conceal my commandments within you,
2 prestando tu oído a la sabiduría, inclinando tu corazón a la prudencia;	2 so that your ears may listen to wisdom, then bend your heart in order to know prudence.
3 si invocas a la inteligencia y llamas a voces a la prudencia;	3 For if you would call upon wisdom and bend your heart to prudence,
4 si la buscas como la plata y como un tesoro la rebuscas,	4 if you will seek her like money, and dig for her as if for treasure,
5 entonces entenderás el temor de Yahveh y la ciencia de Dios encontrarás.	5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will discover the knowledge of God.
6 Porque Yahveh es el que da la sabiduría, de su boca nacen la ciencia y la prudencia.	6 For the Lord bestows wisdom, and out of his mouth, prudence and knowledge.
7 Reserva el éxito para los rectos, es escudo para quienes proceden con entereza,	7 He will preserve the salvation of the righteous, and he will protect those who walk in simplicity:
8 vigila las sendas de la equidad y guarda el camino de sus amigos.	8 serving the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of sanctity.
9 Entonces entenderás la justicia, la equidad y la rectitud: todos los senderos del bien.	9 Then you shall understand justice and judgment, and equity, and every good path.
10 Cuando entre la sabiduría en tu corazón y la ciencia sea dulce para tu alma,	10 If wisdom is to enter into your heart, and if knowledge is to become pleasing to your soul,
11 velará sobre ti la reflexión y la prudencia te guardará,	11 then counsel must guard you, and prudence must serve you,
12 apartándote del mal camino, del hombre que propone planes perversos,	12 so that you may be rescued from the evil way, and from the man who speaks perversities,
13 de los que abandonan el recto sendero para ir por caminos tenebrosos,	13 from those who leave the straight path to walk in dark ways,
14 de los que se gozan en hacer el mal, se regocijan en la perversidad,	14 who rejoice when they have done evil, and who exult in the most wicked things.
15 cuyos senderos son tortuosos y sus sendas llenas de revueltas.	15 Their ways are perverse, and their steps are infamous.
16 Ella te apartará de la mujer ajena, de la extraña de melosas palabras,	16 So may you be rescued from the foreign woman, and from the outsider, who softens her speech,
17 que ha dejado al amigo de su juventud y ha olvidado la alianza de su Dios;	17 and who leaves behind the Guide of her youth,
18 su casa está inclinada hacia la muerte, hacia las sombras sus tortuosos senderos.	18 and who has forgotten the covenant of her God. For her household inclines toward death, and her paths toward Hell.
19 Nadie que entre por ella volverá, no alcanzará las sendas de la vida.	19 All those who enter to her will not return again, nor will they take hold of the paths of life.
20 Por eso has de ir por el camino de los buenos, seguirás las sendas de los justos.	20 So may you walk in the good way, and keep to the difficult paths of the just.
21 Porque los rectos habitarán la tierra y los íntegros se mantendrán en ella;	21 For those who are upright shall live upon the earth, and the simple shall continue upon it.
22 pero los malos serán cercenados de la tierra, se arrancará de ella a los desleales.	22 Yet truly, the impious shall perish from the earth, and those who act unjustly shall be taken away from it.
