BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Del maestro de coro. Según la... de Gat. De Asaf.	1 [For the choirmaster On the . . . of Gath Of Asaph] Sing for joy to God our strength, shout in triumph tothe God of Jacob.
2 ¡Gritad de gozo a Dios, nuestra fuerza, aclamad al Dios de Jacob!	2 Strike up the music, beat the tambourine, play the melodious harp and the lyre;
3 ¡Entonad la salmodia, tocad el tamboril, la melodiosa cítara y el arpa;	3 blow the trumpet for the new month, for the ful moon, for our feast day!
4 tocad la trompeta al nuevo mes, a la luna llena, el día de nuestra fiesta!	4 For Israel has this statute, a decision of the God of Jacob,
5 Porque es una ley para Israel, una norma del Dios de Jacob;	5 a decree he imposed on Joseph, when he went to war against Egypt. I heard a voice unknown to me,
6 un dictamen que él impuso en José, cuando salió contra el país de Egipto. Una lengua desconocida se oye:	6 'I freed his shoulder from the burden, his hands were able to lay aside the labourer's basket.

8 en la aflicción gritaste y te salvé. «Te respondí en el secreto del trueno, te probé junto a las aguas de Meribá. Pausa.	8 Listen, my people, while I give you warning; Israel, if only you would listen to me!
9 Escucha, pueblo mío, yo te conjuro, ¡ah Israel, si quisieras escucharme!	9 'You shal have no strange gods, shall worship no alien god.
10 «No haya en ti dios extranjero, no te postres ante dios extraño;	10 I, Yahweh, am your God, who brought you here from Egypt, you have only to open your mouth forme to fil it.
11 yo, Yahveh, soy tu Dios, que te hice subir del país de Egipto; abre toda tu boca, y yo la llenaré.	11 'My people would not listen to me, Israel would have none of me.
12 «Pero mi pueblo no escuchó mi voz, Israel no me quiso obedecer;	12 So I left them to their stubborn selves, to fol ow their own devices.
13 yo les abandoné a la dureza de su corazón, para que caminaran según sus designios.	13 'If only my people would listen to me, if only Israel would walk in my ways,
14 «¡Ah!, si mi pueblo me escuchara, si Israel mis caminos siguiera,	14 at one stroke I would subdue their enemies, turn my hand against their opponents.
15 al punto yo abatiría a sus enemigos, contra sus adversarios mi mano volvería.	15 'Those who hate Yahweh would woo his favour, though their doom was sealed for ever,
16 «Los que odian a Yahveh le adularían, y su tiempo estaría para siempre fijado;	16 while I would feed him on pure wheat, would give you your fil of honey from the rock.'
17 y a él lo sustentaría con la flor del trigo, lo saciaría con la miel de la peña».
