1 Fugge l'empio senza avere chi lo incalzi: ma il giusto è franco come un lione, e senza timore.	1 The wicked man fleeth, when no man pursueth: but the just, bold as a lion, shall be without dread.
2 A motivo de' peccati del mondo si moltiplicano li suoi principi; ma per la sapienza di un uomo, e per la cognizione delle cose che si insegnano, la vita del principe sarà più lunga.	2 For the sine of the land many are the princes thereof: and for the wisdom of a man, and the knowledge of those things that are said, the life of the prince shall be prolonged.
3 Un uomo povero, che opprime i poveri, è simile ad una pioggia violenta, che prepara la carestia.	3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor, is like a violent shower, which bringeth a famine.
4 Quelli, che abbandonan la legge, lodano l'empio: quelli, che la osservano ardono di zelo contro di lui.	4 They that forsake the law, praise the wicked man: they that keep it, are incensed against him.
5 I malvaggi non pensano a quel, che è giusto; ma quelli, che cercano il Signore badano a ogni cosa.	5 Evil men think not on judgment: but they that seek after the Lord, take notice of all things.
6 E più stimabile il povero, che cammina nella sua semplicità, che il ricco negli storti suoi andamenti.	6 Better is the poor man walking in his simplicity, than the rich in crooked ways.
7 Chi osserva la legge è un saggio figliuolo; ma chi pasce i mangiatori, fa vergogna a suo padre.	7 He that keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that feedeth gluttons, shameth his father.
8 Chi aduna ricchezze per mezzo di usure, e di scrocchi, le aduna per un uomo liberale verso de' poveri.	8 He that heapeth together riches by usury and loan, gathereth them for him that will be bountiful to the poor.
9 Chi chiude le orecchie per non ascoltare la legge, la orazione di lui sarà in esecrazione.	9 He that turneth away his ears from hearing the law, his prayer shall be as abomination.
10 Chi con frode conduce i giusti nella mala via, precipiterà nella propria sua fossa: e gli innocenti saran padroni de' beni di lui.	10 He that deceiveth the just in a wicked way, shall fall in his own destruction: and the upright shall possess his goods.
11 L'uomo ricco si crede sapiente: ma il povero dotato di prudenza lo smaschererà.	11 The rich man seemeth to himself wise: but the poor man that is prudent shall search him out.
12 Nella prosperità de' giusti travasi gloria grande: sotto il regno degli empj vanno in rovina gli uomini.	12 In the joy of the just there is great glory: when the wicked reign, men are ruined.
13 Chi nasconde i suoi delitti, non avrà bene; ma chi li confessa, e gli abbandona, otterrà misericordia.	13 He that hideth his sins, shall not prosper: but he that shall confess, and forsake them, shall obtain mercy.
14 Beato l'uomo, che è sempre timoroso; ma chi è duro di cuore precipiterà in sciagure.	14 Blessed is the man that is always fearful: but he that is hardened in mind, shall fall into evil.
15 Lion che rugge, orso affamato egli è un principe empio, che regna sopra un povero popolo.	15 As a roaring lion, and a hungry bear, so is a wicked prince over the poor people.
16 Un principe che manca di prudenza, opprimerà molti con vessazioni: ma chi odia l'avarizia farà lunga vita.	16 A prince void of prudence shall oppress many by calumny: but he that hateth covetousness, shall prolong his days.
17 Chi per via di calunnie sparge il sangue, in cui è la vita, quand'anche fugga sino a gittarsi in un baratro, nissuno lo riterrà.	17 A man that doth violence to the blood of a person, if he flee even to the pit, no man will stay him.
18 Chi cammina con semplicità, avrà salute; chi batte vie storte, caderà una volta.	18 He that walketh uprightly, shall be saved: he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
19 Chi lavora la sua terra, avrà del pane da satollarsi; ma chi è amico dell'ozio, abbonderà di miserie.	19 He that tilleth his ground, shall be filled with bread: but he that followeth idleness shall be filled with poverty.
20 L'uomo leale sarà lodato assai: ma chi ha fretta di farsi ricco, non sarà innocente.	20 A faithful man shall be much praised: but he that maketh haste to be rich, shall not be innocent.
21 Chi in giudizio è accettator di persone, non fa bene; costui anche per un tozzo di pane abbandona la verità.	21 He that hath respect to a person in judgment, doth not well: such a man even for a morsel of bread forsaketh the truth.
22 L'uomo, che ha fretta di arricchire, e porta invidia ad altri, ci non sa che lo invaderà repentinamente la povertà.	22 A man, that maketh haste to be rich, and envieth others, is ignorant that poverty shall come upon him.
23 Chi corregge un uomo sarà alla fine più accetto a lui, che quegli, il quale con lingua lusinghiera lo inganna.	23 He that rebuketh a man, shall afterward find favour with him, more than he that by a flattering tongue deceiveth him.
24 Chi ruba a suo padre, ed a sua madre, e dice ciò non esser peccato, è compagno dell'omicida.	24 He that stealeth any thing from his father, or from his mother: and saith, This is no sin, is the partner of a murderer.
25 Colui, che si millanta, e si gonfia, fa nascere delle contese; ma chi spera nel Signore otterrà salute.	25 He that boasteth, and puffeth up himself, stirreth up quarrels: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be healed.
26 Chi si confida ne' suoi consigli è uno stolto; ma chi cammina con saggezza, sarà salvo:	26 He that trusteth in his own heart, is a fool: but he that walketh wisely, he shall be saved.
27 Chi dona al povero non sarà mai in bisogno; ma chi disprezza colui che domanda, soffrirà penuria.	27 He that giveth to the poor, shall not want: he that despiseth his entreaty, shall suffer indigence.
28 Quando gli empj alzeranno il capo, gli uomini anderanno a nascondersi: quando quelli saranno spenti, moltiplicheranno i giusti.	28 When the wicked rise up, men shall hide themselves: when they perish, the lust shall be multiplied.
