Prima lettera ai Corinzi 6

BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Come! v'è tra voi qualcuno che, avendo lite con un altro, ar­disca chiamare in giudizio davanti agli ingiusti, piuttosto che dinanzi ai santi?	1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?
2 E non sapete che i santi giudicheranno il mondo? E se da voi sarà giudicato il mondo, siete voi indegni di giudicare di piccolezze?	2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?
3 Non sapete che giudicheremo gli Angeli? Quanto più (potremo giudicare) affari mondani?	3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.
4 Se dunque avrete liti per gli affari di questa vita, scegliete come giudici i men considerati nella Chiesa.	4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!
5 Lo dico per farvi arrossire. Così dunque non v'è tra voi nemmeno un uomo tanto saggio da poter giudicare tra fratello e fratello?	5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,
6 Invece il fratello processa il fratello, e dinanzi agli infedeli?	6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?
7 E' già anzi un delitto per voi l'aver tra voi delle liti. Perchè non patite piuttosto qualche torto? Perchè piuttosto non soffrite qualche danno?	7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?
8 Invece siete voi che fate ingiuria, che recate danno, e ciò ai fratelli.	8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.
9 Non sapete voi che gl'ingiusti non possederanno il regno di Dio? Badate di non errare: nè i fornicatori, nè gl'idolatri, nè gli adulteri,	9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,
10 nè gli effeminati, nè i sodomiti, nè i ladri, nè gli avari, nè gli ubriaconi, nè i maldicenti, nè i rapaci possederanno il regno di Dio.	10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.
11 E tali eravate alcuni; ma siete stati lavati, ma siete stati santificati, ma siete stati giustificati nel nome del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo e mediante lo Spirito del nostro Dio.	11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.
12 Tutto mi è permesso, ma non tutto è utile. Tutto mi è lecito, ma io non mi renderò schiavo di cosa alcuna.	12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.
13 Il cibo per il ventre, e il ventre per i cibi; ma Dio distruggerà l'uno e l'altro. Or il corpo non è per la fornicazione, ma per il Signore, e il Signore per il corpo;	13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;
14 e Dio che ha risuscitato il Signore, risusciterà anche noi colla sua potenza.	14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.
15 Non sapete voi che i vostri corpi sono membra di Cristo? Prenderò dunque le membra di Cristo per farne membra d'una meretrice? Non sia mai!	15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!
16 Non mi peto voi che chi si unisce ad una meretrice diviene un sol corpo con essa? Lo dice: I due diventeranno una sola carne.	16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.
17 Chi invece s'unisce al Signore è un sol spirito con lui.	17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.
18 Fuggite In fornicazione. Qualunque altro peccato commesso dall'uomo è fuori del corpo, ma il fornicatore pecca contro il proprio corpo.	18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
19 Non sapete voi che il vostro corpo è tempio dello Spirito Santo, che è in voi, che è stato a voi dato da Dio, e che voi non appartenete a voi stessi?	19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?
20 Certo che siete stati comprati a caro prezzo. Glorificate e portate Dio nel vostro corpo.	20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.
