Deuteronomio 12

1 Queste sono le leggi e le ordinazioni che dovete osservare nel paese che il Signore Dio dei tuoi padri sta per darti, affinchè tu lo possegga tutto il tempo che starai sopra la terra.	1 “These are the precepts and judgments which you must do in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, will give to you, so that you may possess it during all the days that you shall walk upon the soil.
2 Distruggete tutti i luoghi nei quali le nazioni che voi siete per spodestare hanno adorato i loro dèi, sulle alte montagne, sulle colline, sotto ogni albero ombroso.	2 Overturn all the places where the nations, which you will possess, worshipped their gods on lofty mountains, and on hills, and under every leafy tree.
3 Demolite i loro altari, fate in pezzi le statue, date alle fiamme i boschetti, riducete in polvere gl'idoli e fate sparire il loro nome da quei luoghi.	3 Scatter their altars and break their statues. Burn their sacred groves with fire and crush their idols. Abolish their names from those places.
4 Non così farete verso il Signore Dio vostro,	4 But you shall not do the same to the Lord your God.
5 ma vi recherete al luogo che il Signore Dio vostro avrà eletto fra tutte le vostre tribù per mettervi il suo nome e abitarvi,	5 Instead, you shall approach the place which the Lord your God will choose among all your tribes, so that he may set his name there, and may dwell in that place.
6 le vostre vittime, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani, i voti, i doni, i primogeniti dei buoi e delle pecore;	6 And you shall offer, in that place, your holocausts and victims, the tithes and first-fruits of your hands, and your vows and gifts, the firstborn of the cattle and of the sheep.
7 ivi mangerete al cospetto del Signore Dio vostro e farete festa con tutte le cose a cui avrete messo la mano, voi e le vostre famiglie nelle quali il Signore Dio vostro vi avrà benedetto,	7 And you shall eat it there, in the sight of the Lord your God. And you shall rejoice in all the things to which you shall set your hand: you and your household, which the Lord your God has blessed for you.
8 In quel luogo non farete quel che facciamo oggi qui, ciascuno ciò che gli sembra bene.	8 You shall not do there the things that we are doing here today: each one doing what seems good to himself.
9 Non siete infatti ancor giunti al riposo e al possesso che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi;	9 For even until the present time, you did not arrive at the rest and the possession, which the Lord your God will give to you.
10 ma quando, passato il Giordano, abiterete nella terra che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi, e avrete requie da tutti i vostri nemici che vi circondano, e vivrete senza alcun timore,	10 You shall cross over the Jordan, and you shall live in the land which the Lord your God will give to you, so that you may have rest from all the surrounding enemies, and so that you may live without any fear,
11 nel luogo scelto dal Signore Dio vostro per mettervi il suo nome, là porterete tutto quello che io comando, gli olocausti, le ostie, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani e tutto ciò che avete scelto fra i doni per offrirlo in voto al Signore.	11 in the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be in it. To that place, you shall bring all the things that I instruct you: holocausts, and victims, and tithes, and the first-fruits of your hands, and whatever is best among the gifts that you shall vow to the Lord.
12 Là voi farete conviti dinanzi al Signore Dio vostro voi, i vostri figli, le vostre figlie, i servi, le serve, e il levita che abita nella vostra città, non avendo egli altra parte nè possesso tra voi.	12 In that place, you shall feast before the Lord your God: you, and your sons and daughters, your men and women servants, as well as the Levite who dwells in your cities. For he has no other portion or possession among you.
13 Guardati dall'offrire i tuoi olocausti in qualunque luogo vedrai;	13 Take care that you do not offer your holocausts in any place that you see.
14 ma offrirai le ostie in quello dal Signore scelto in una delle tue tribù, e lì farai tutto ciò che ti comando.	14 Instead, you shall offer sacrifices in the place which the Lord will choose within one of your tribes, and you shall do whatsoever I instruct you.
15 Ma se tu vuoi mangiare ed hai piacere di mangiar della carne, uccidi pure e mangia, secondo la benedizione che il Signore Dio tuo t'ha data, nelle tue città, mangiando tanto ciò che è impuro, cioè macchiato e debole, quanto ciò che è puro, cioè intero, senza macchia e che può essere offerto, come la gazzella e il cervo,	15 So, if you wish to eat, and if the eating of flesh pleases you, then kill and eat according to the blessing of the Lord your God, which he has given to you, in your cities: you may eat it whether it is unclean, that is, having blemish or defect, or whether it is clean, that is, whole and without blemish, of the kind which is permitted to be offered, such as the roe deer and the stag.
16 il sangue però non lo mangiare; ma lo spargerai per terra come l'acqua.	16 Only the blood you shall not eat. Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water.
17 Non potrai mangiare nelle tue città la decima del tuo frumento, del tuo vino, del tuo olio, i primogeniti ì degli armenti e dei greggi, tutto quello che avrai offerto per voto, le tue offerte spontanee, e le primizie delle tue mani:	17 You may not eat in your towns the tithes of your crops, and your wine and oil, the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, nor anything which you will vow, or which you will offer spontaneously, nor the first-fruits of your hands.
18 tali cose dovrai mangiarle dinanzi al Signore Dio tuo, nel luogo che il Signore Dio tuo avrà eletto, tu, il tuo figlio, la tua figlia, il servo, la serva e il levitche abita nelle tue città, e ti rallegrera e ti conforterai dinanzi al Signore Di tuo con tutte le cose a cui avrai mess la tua mano.	18 But you shall eat these before the Lord your God, in the place which the Lord your God will choose: you, and your son, and your daughter, and your man servant and woman servant, and the Levite who dwells in your cities. And you shall rejoice and be refreshed in the sight of the Lord your God by all the things to which you will extend your hand.
19 Guardati bene, per tutto il tempo che starai sulla terra, dall'abbandonare il levita.	19 Be careful, lest you abandon the Levite, at anytime while you are living in the land.
20 Allorchè il Signore Dio tuo avrà estesi i tuoi confini, come ti ha detto, se tu vorrai mangiar delle carni da te desiderate,	20 When the Lord your God will have enlarged your borders, just as he has spoken to you, and when you would eat the flesh that your soul desires,
21 e il luogo eletto dal Signore Dio per porvi il suo nome si trova lontano uccidendo del grosso e del minuto bestiame da te posseduto, secondo i mieordini, mangialo nella tua città a tuo piacimento,	21 but if the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be there, is far away, you may kill, from your herds and your flocks which you will have, in the manner I have instructed to you, and you may eat in your towns, as it pleases you.
22 come si mungerebbe la gazzella e il cervo, senza distinzione tra mondi e immondi.	22 Just as the roe deer and the stag may be eaten, so also may you eat these: you may eat both the clean and the unclean alike.
23 Ma guardati da mangiare il sangue, perchè il sangue per essi è l'anima, e non devi mangiare l'anima colle carni;	23 Only beware of this: you may not eat the blood. For their blood is for the soul. And because of this, you must not eat the soul with the flesh.
24 lo spargerai adunque per terra come l'acqua,	24 Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water,
25 per esser felice tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te, quando avrai fatto ciò che piace al cospetto del Signore.	25 so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, when you will do what is pleasing in the sight of the Lord.
26 In quanto poi alle cose che avrai santificate e votate al Signore, le prenderai, e, andato al luogo eletto dal Signore,	26 But the things that you have sanctified and vowed to the Lord, you shall take up and bring to the place which the Lord will choose.
27 offrirai le tue oblazioni, la carne e il sangue sull'altare del Signore Dio tuo; spargendo il sangue delle ostie sull'altare e mangiandone poi le carni.	27 And you shall offer your oblations of flesh and of blood upon the altar of the Lord your God. You shall poor out the blood of your victims upon the altar. And you yourself shall eat the flesh.
28 Osserva ed ascolta tutto quello che ti comando, se vuoi aver bene tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te per sempre, quando avrai fatto quello che è buono e gradito al cospetto del Signore Dio tuo.	28 Observe and heed all the things that I instruct to you, so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, continually, when you will do what is good and pleasing in the sight of the Lord your God.
29 Quando il Signore Dio tuo avrà sterminate dinanzi a te le nazioni che andrai a spodestare, quando le avrai spodestate e ne abiterai la terra,	29 When the Lord your God will have abolished before your face the nations, which you shall enter so as to possess them, and when you will possess them and live in their land,
30 guardati dall'imitarle, dopo averle al tuo arrivo distrutte, e dal ricercarne le cerimonie, dicendo: Come queste nazioni hanno adorato i loro dèi, così li adorerò anch'io.	30 be careful that you do not imitate them, after they have been overturned at your arrival, and that you do not seek their ceremonies, saying: ‘Just as these nations have worshipped their gods, so also will I worship.’
31 Non far così verso il Signore Dio tuo; perchè tutte le abbominazioni odiate dal Signore esse le fecero verso i loro dèi, offrendo i loro figli e le loro figlie, bruciandoli col fuoco.	31 You shall not act in like manner toward the Lord your God. For they have done to their gods all the abominations that the Lord spurns, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire.
32 Quello che ti comando, quello solo ta per il Signore, senza aggiungere nè levar nulla.	32 What I command to you, this only shall you do, for the Lord. You may neither add nor subtract anything.”
