Deuteronomio 12

BIBBIA TINTORI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Queste sono le leggi e le ordinazioni che dovete osservare nel paese che il Signore Dio dei tuoi padri sta per darti, affinchè tu lo possegga tutto il tempo che starai sopra la terra.	1 These are the precepts and judgments, that you must do in the land, which the Lord the God of thy fathers will give thee, to possess it all the days that thou shalt walk upon the earth.
2 Distruggete tutti i luoghi nei quali le nazioni che voi siete per spodestare hanno adorato i loro dèi, sulle alte montagne, sulle colline, sotto ogni albero ombroso.	2 Destroy all the places in which the nations, that you shall possess, worshipped their gods upon high mountains, and hills, and under every shady tree:
3 Demolite i loro altari, fate in pezzi le statue, date alle fiamme i boschetti, riducete in polvere gl'idoli e fate sparire il loro nome da quei luoghi.	3 Overthrow their altars, and break down their statues, burn their groves with fire, and break their idols in pieces: destroy their names out of those places.
4 Non così farete verso il Signore Dio vostro,	4 You shall not do so to the Lord your God:
5 ma vi recherete al luogo che il Signore Dio vostro avrà eletto fra tutte le vostre tribù per mettervi il suo nome e abitarvi,	5 But you shall come to the place, which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, and to dwell in it:
6 le vostre vittime, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani, i voti, i doni, i primogeniti dei buoi e delle pecore;	6 And you shall offer in that place your holocausts and victims, the tithes and firstfruits of your hands and your vows and gifts, the firstborn of your herds and your sheep.
7 ivi mangerete al cospetto del Signore Dio vostro e farete festa con tutte le cose a cui avrete messo la mano, voi e le vostre famiglie nelle quali il Signore Dio vostro vi avrà benedetto,	7 And you shall eat there in the sight of the Lord your God: and you shall rejoice in all things, whereunto you shall put your hand, you and your houses wherein the Lord your God hath blessed you.
8 In quel luogo non farete quel che facciamo oggi qui, ciascuno ciò che gli sembra bene.	8 You shall not do there the things we do here this day, every man that which seemeth good to himself.
9 Non siete infatti ancor giunti al riposo e al possesso che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi;	9 For until this present time you are not come to refit, and to the possession, which the Lord your God will give you.
10 ma quando, passato il Giordano, abiterete nella terra che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi, e avrete requie da tutti i vostri nemici che vi circondano, e vivrete senza alcun timore,	10 You shall pass over the Jordan, and shall dwell in the land which the Lord your God will give you, that you may have rest from all enemies round about: and may dwell without any fear,
11 nel luogo scelto dal Signore Dio vostro per mettervi il suo nome, là porterete tutto quello che io comando, gli olocausti, le ostie, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani e tutto ciò che avete scelto fra i doni per offrirlo in voto al Signore.	11 In the place, which the Lord your God shall choose, that his name may be therein. Thither shall you bring all the things that I command you, holocausts, and victims, and tithes, and the firstfruits of your hands: and whatsoever is the choicest in the gifts which you shall vow to the Lord.
12 Là voi farete conviti dinanzi al Signore Dio vostro voi, i vostri figli, le vostre figlie, i servi, le serve, e il levita che abita nella vostra città, non avendo egli altra parte nè possesso tra voi.	12 There shall you feast before the Lord your God, you and your sons and your daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levite that dwelleth in your cities. For he hath no other part and possession among you.
13 Guardati dall'offrire i tuoi olocausti in qualunque luogo vedrai;	13 Beware lest thou offer thy holocausts in every place that thou shalt see:
14 ma offrirai le ostie in quello dal Signore scelto in una delle tue tribù, e lì farai tutto ciò che ti comando.	14 But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of thy tribes shalt thou offer sacrifices. and shalt do all that I command thee.
15 Ma se tu vuoi mangiare ed hai piacere di mangiar della carne, uccidi pure e mangia, secondo la benedizione che il Signore Dio tuo t'ha data, nelle tue città, mangiando tanto ciò che è impuro, cioè macchiato e debole, quanto ciò che è puro, cioè intero, senza macchia e che può essere offerto, come la gazzella e il cervo,	15 But if thou desirest to eat, and the eating of flesh delight thee, kill, and eat according to the blessing of the Lord thy God, which he hath given thee, in thy cities: whether it be unclean, that is to say, having blemish or defect: or clean, that is to say, sound and without blemish, such as may be offered, as the roe, and the hart, shalt thou eat it:
16 il sangue però non lo mangiare; ma lo spargerai per terra come l'acqua.	16 Only the blood thou shalt not eat, but thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water.
17 Non potrai mangiare nelle tue città la decima del tuo frumento, del tuo vino, del tuo olio, i primogeniti ì degli armenti e dei greggi, tutto quello che avrai offerto per voto, le tue offerte spontanee, e le primizie delle tue mani:	17 Thou mayst not eat in thy towns the tithes of thy corn, and thy wine, and thy oil, the firstborn of thy herds and thy cattle, nor any thing that thou vowest, and that thou wilt offer voluntarily, and the firstfruits of thy hands:
18 tali cose dovrai mangiarle dinanzi al Signore Dio tuo, nel luogo che il Signore Dio tuo avrà eletto, tu, il tuo figlio, la tua figlia, il servo, la serva e il levitche abita nelle tue città, e ti rallegrera e ti conforterai dinanzi al Signore Di tuo con tutte le cose a cui avrai mess la tua mano.	18 But thou shalt eat them before the Lord thy God in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, thou and thy son and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and maidservant, and the Levite that dwelleth in thy cities: and thou shalt rejoice and be refreshed before the Lord thy God in all things, whereunto thou shalt put thy hand.
19 Guardati bene, per tutto il tempo che starai sulla terra, dall'abbandonare il levita.	19 Take heed thou forsake not the Levite all the time that thou livest in the land.
20 Allorchè il Signore Dio tuo avrà estesi i tuoi confini, come ti ha detto, se tu vorrai mangiar delle carni da te desiderate,	20 When the Lord thy God shall have enlarged thy borders, as he hath spoken to thee, and thou wilt eat the flesh that thy soul desireth:
21 e il luogo eletto dal Signore Dio per porvi il suo nome si trova lontano uccidendo del grosso e del minuto bestiame da te posseduto, secondo i mieordini, mangialo nella tua città a tuo piacimento,	21 And if the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, that his name should be there, be far off, thou shalt kill of thy herds and of thy docks, as I have commanded thee, and shalt eat in thy towns, as it pleaseth thee.
22 come si mungerebbe la gazzella e il cervo, senza distinzione tra mondi e immondi.	22 Even as the roe and the hart is eaten, so shalt thou eat them: both the clean and unclean shall eat of them alike.
23 Ma guardati da mangiare il sangue, perchè il sangue per essi è l'anima, e non devi mangiare l'anima colle carni;	23 Only beware of this, that thou eat not the blood, for the blood is for the soul: and therefore thou must not eat the soul with the flesh:
24 lo spargerai adunque per terra come l'acqua,	24 But thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water,
25 per esser felice tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te, quando avrai fatto ciò che piace al cospetto del Signore.	25 That it may be well with thee and thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is pleasing in the sight of the Lord.
26 In quanto poi alle cose che avrai santificate e votate al Signore, le prenderai, e, andato al luogo eletto dal Signore,	26 But the things which thou hast sanctified and vowed to the Lord, thou shalt take, and shalt come to the place which the Lord shall choose:
27 offrirai le tue oblazioni, la carne e il sangue sull'altare del Signore Dio tuo; spargendo il sangue delle ostie sull'altare e mangiandone poi le carni.	27 And shalt offer thy oblations the flesh and the blood upon the altar of the Lord thy God: the blood of thy victims thou shalt pour on the altar: and the flesh thou thyself shalt eat.
28 Osserva ed ascolta tutto quello che ti comando, se vuoi aver bene tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te per sempre, quando avrai fatto quello che è buono e gradito al cospetto del Signore Dio tuo.	28 Observe and hear all the things that I command thee, that it may be well with thee and thy children after thee for ever, when thou shalt do what is good and pleasing in the sight of the Lord thy God.
29 Quando il Signore Dio tuo avrà sterminate dinanzi a te le nazioni che andrai a spodestare, quando le avrai spodestate e ne abiterai la terra,	29 When the Lord thy God shall have destroyed before thy face the nations, which then shalt go in to possess, and when thou shalt possess them, and dwell in their land:
30 guardati dall'imitarle, dopo averle al tuo arrivo distrutte, e dal ricercarne le cerimonie, dicendo: Come queste nazioni hanno adorato i loro dèi, così li adorerò anch'io.	30 Beware lest thou imitate them, after they are destroyed at thy coming in, and lest thou seek after their ceremonies, saying: As these nations have worshipped their gods, so will I also worship.
31 Non far così verso il Signore Dio tuo; perchè tutte le abbominazioni odiate dal Signore esse le fecero verso i loro dèi, offrendo i loro figli e le loro figlie, bruciandoli col fuoco.	31 Thou shalt not do in like manner to the Lord thy God. For they have done to their gods all the abominations which the Lord abhorreth, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire.
32 Quello che ti comando, quello solo ta per il Signore, senza aggiungere nè levar nulla.	32 What I command thee, that only do thou to the Lord: neither add any thing, nor diminish.
