Deuteronomio 12

1 Queste sono le leggi e le ordinazioni che dovete osservare nel paese che il Signore Dio dei tuoi padri sta per darti, affinchè tu lo possegga tutto il tempo che starai sopra la terra.	1 "These are the statutes and decrees which you must be careful to observe in the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to occupy, as long as you live on its soil.
2 Distruggete tutti i luoghi nei quali le nazioni che voi siete per spodestare hanno adorato i loro dèi, sulle alte montagne, sulle colline, sotto ogni albero ombroso.	2 Destroy without fail every place on the high mountains, on the hills, and under every leafy tree where the nations you are to dispossess worship their gods.
3 Demolite i loro altari, fate in pezzi le statue, date alle fiamme i boschetti, riducete in polvere gl'idoli e fate sparire il loro nome da quei luoghi.	3 Tear down their altars, smash their sacred pillars, destroy by fire their sacred poles, and shatter the idols of their gods, that you may stamp out the remembrance of them in any such place.
4 Non così farete verso il Signore Dio vostro,	4 "That is not how you are to worship the LORD, your God.
5 ma vi recherete al luogo che il Signore Dio vostro avrà eletto fra tutte le vostre tribù per mettervi il suo nome e abitarvi,	5 Instead, you shall resort to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses out of all your tribes and designates as his dwelling
6 le vostre vittime, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani, i voti, i doni, i primogeniti dei buoi e delle pecore;	6 and there you shall bring your holocausts and sacrifices, your tithes and personal contributions, your votive and freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and flocks.
7 ivi mangerete al cospetto del Signore Dio vostro e farete festa con tutte le cose a cui avrete messo la mano, voi e le vostre famiglie nelle quali il Signore Dio vostro vi avrà benedetto,	7 There, too, before the LORD, your God, you and your families shall eat and make merry over all your undertakings, because the LORD, your God, has blessed you.
8 In quel luogo non farete quel che facciamo oggi qui, ciascuno ciò che gli sembra bene.	8 You shall not do as we are now doing; here, everyone does what seems right to himself,
9 Non siete infatti ancor giunti al riposo e al possesso che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi;	9 since you have not yet reached your resting place, the heritage which the LORD, your God, will give you.
10 ma quando, passato il Giordano, abiterete nella terra che il Signore Dio vostro è per darvi, e avrete requie da tutti i vostri nemici che vi circondano, e vivrete senza alcun timore,	10 But after you have crossed the Jordan and dwell in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage, when he has given you rest from all your enemies round about and you live there in security,
11 nel luogo scelto dal Signore Dio vostro per mettervi il suo nome, là porterete tutto quello che io comando, gli olocausti, le ostie, le decime, le primizie delle vostre mani e tutto ciò che avete scelto fra i doni per offrirlo in voto al Signore.	11 then to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses as the dwelling place for his name you shall bring all the offerings I command you: your holocausts and sacrifices, your tithes and personal contributions, and every special offering you have vowed to the LORD.
12 Là voi farete conviti dinanzi al Signore Dio vostro voi, i vostri figli, le vostre figlie, i servi, le serve, e il levita che abita nella vostra città, non avendo egli altra parte nè possesso tra voi.	12 You shall make merry before the LORD, your God, with your sons and daughters, your male and female slaves, as well as with the Levite who belongs to your community but has no share of his own in your heritage.
13 Guardati dall'offrire i tuoi olocausti in qualunque luogo vedrai;	13 Take care not to offer up your holocausts in any place you fancy,
14 ma offrirai le ostie in quello dal Signore scelto in una delle tue tribù, e lì farai tutto ciò che ti comando.	14 but offer them up in the place which the LORD chooses from among your tribes; there you shall make whatever offerings I enjoin upon you.
15 Ma se tu vuoi mangiare ed hai piacere di mangiar della carne, uccidi pure e mangia, secondo la benedizione che il Signore Dio tuo t'ha data, nelle tue città, mangiando tanto ciò che è impuro, cioè macchiato e debole, quanto ciò che è puro, cioè intero, senza macchia e che può essere offerto, come la gazzella e il cervo,	15 "However, in any of your communities you may slaughter and eat to your heart's desire as much meat as the LORD, your God, has blessed you with; and the unclean as well as the clean may eat it, as they do the gazelle or the deer.
16 il sangue però non lo mangiare; ma lo spargerai per terra come l'acqua.	16 Only, you shall not partake of the blood, but must pour it out on the ground like water.
17 Non potrai mangiare nelle tue città la decima del tuo frumento, del tuo vino, del tuo olio, i primogeniti ì degli armenti e dei greggi, tutto quello che avrai offerto per voto, le tue offerte spontanee, e le primizie delle tue mani:	17 Moreover, you shall not, in your own communities, partake of your tithe of grain or wine or oil, of the first-born of your herd or flock, of any offering you have vowed, of your freewill offerings, or of your personal contributions.
18 tali cose dovrai mangiarle dinanzi al Signore Dio tuo, nel luogo che il Signore Dio tuo avrà eletto, tu, il tuo figlio, la tua figlia, il servo, la serva e il levitche abita nelle tue città, e ti rallegrera e ti conforterai dinanzi al Signore Di tuo con tutte le cose a cui avrai mess la tua mano.	18 These you must eat before the LORD, your God, in the place he chooses, along with your son and daughter, your male and female slave, and the Levite who belongs to your community; and there, before the LORD, you shall make merry over all your undertakings.
19 Guardati bene, per tutto il tempo che starai sulla terra, dall'abbandonare il levita.	19 Take care, also, that you do not neglect the Levite as long as you live in the land.
20 Allorchè il Signore Dio tuo avrà estesi i tuoi confini, come ti ha detto, se tu vorrai mangiar delle carni da te desiderate,	20 "After the LORD, your God, has enlarged your territory, as he promised you, when you wish meat for food, you may eat it at will, to your heart's desire;
21 e il luogo eletto dal Signore Dio per porvi il suo nome si trova lontano uccidendo del grosso e del minuto bestiame da te posseduto, secondo i mieordini, mangialo nella tua città a tuo piacimento,	21 and if the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the abode of his name is too far, you may slaughter in the manner I have told you any of your herd or flock that the LORD has given you, and eat it to your heart's desire in your own community.
22 come si mungerebbe la gazzella e il cervo, senza distinzione tra mondi e immondi.	22 You may eat it as you would the gazelle or the deer: the unclean and the clean eating it alike.
23 Ma guardati da mangiare il sangue, perchè il sangue per essi è l'anima, e non devi mangiare l'anima colle carni;	23 But make sure that you do not partake of the blood; for blood is life, and you shall not consume this seat of life with the flesh.
24 lo spargerai adunque per terra come l'acqua,	24 Do not partake of the blood, therefore, but pour it out on the ground like water.
25 per esser felice tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te, quando avrai fatto ciò che piace al cospetto del Signore.	25 Abstain from it, that you and your children after you may prosper for doing what is right in the sight of the LORD.
26 In quanto poi alle cose che avrai santificate e votate al Signore, le prenderai, e, andato al luogo eletto dal Signore,	26 However, any sacred gifts or votive offerings that you may have, you shall bring with you to the place which the LORD chooses,
27 offrirai le tue oblazioni, la carne e il sangue sull'altare del Signore Dio tuo; spargendo il sangue delle ostie sull'altare e mangiandone poi le carni.	27 and there you must offer both the flesh and the blood of your holocausts on the altar of the LORD, your God; of your other sacrifices the blood indeed must be poured out against the altar of the LORD, your God, but their flesh may be eaten.
28 Osserva ed ascolta tutto quello che ti comando, se vuoi aver bene tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te per sempre, quando avrai fatto quello che è buono e gradito al cospetto del Signore Dio tuo.	28 Be careful to heed all these commandments I enjoin on you, that you and your descendants may always prosper for doing what is good and right in the sight of the LORD, your God.
29 Quando il Signore Dio tuo avrà sterminate dinanzi a te le nazioni che andrai a spodestare, quando le avrai spodestate e ne abiterai la terra,	29 "When the LORD, your God, removes the nations from your way as you advance to dispossess them, be on your guard! Otherwise, once they have been wiped out before you and you have replaced them and are settled in their land,
30 guardati dall'imitarle, dopo averle al tuo arrivo distrutte, e dal ricercarne le cerimonie, dicendo: Come queste nazioni hanno adorato i loro dèi, così li adorerò anch'io.	30 you will be lured into following them. Do not inquire regarding their gods, 'How did these nations worship their gods? I, too, would do the same.'
31 Non far così verso il Signore Dio tuo; perchè tutte le abbominazioni odiate dal Signore esse le fecero verso i loro dèi, offrendo i loro figli e le loro figlie, bruciandoli col fuoco.	31 You shall not thus worship the LORD, your God, because they offered to their gods every abomination that the LORD detests, even burning their sons and daughters to their gods.
32 Quello che ti comando, quello solo ta per il Signore, senza aggiungere nè levar nulla.
