BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 « Figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e di': Così parla il Signore Dio: Urlate: « Guai, guai a quel giorno:	2 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Howl: Disaster day!
3 perchè il giorno è vicino, è vicino il giorno del Signore, il giorno della caligine: sarà il tempo delle nazioni.	3 For the day is near, the day of Yahweh is near; it wil be a day dark with cloud, a time of doom for thenations.
4 Una spada verrà contro l'Egitto, e vi sarà lo spavento nell'Etiopia quando in Egitto cadranno i feriti, e il suo popolo sarà portato via, e i suoi fondamenti saran distrutti.	4 "The sword wil come on Egypt, and anguish on the country of Cush when the slaughtered fal inEgypt, when her riches are carried away and her foundations are destroyed.
5 Gli Etiopi, i Libii, i Lidii, e tutti gli altri popoli e Chub e i figli dei paesi alleati cadranno con essi sotto la spada.	5 Cush, Put and Lud, all Arabia, Cub and the children of the country of the covenant will fal by thesword with them.
6 Così parla il Signore Dio: Cadranno i sostegni dell'Egitto, e sarà abbattuta la superbia del suo impero: dalla torre di Siene vi cadranno sotto la spada — dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti —	6 "Yahweh says this: "The supports of Egypt wil fall; the pride of her strength wil crumble; they will fal by the sword from Migdol to Syene -- declares the Lord Yahweh.
7 e saran dispersi in mezzo a terre desolate, e le sue città saranno in mezzo a città rovinate,	7 "They will be the most desolate of desolate countries, and its cities the most ruined of cities.
8 e sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando avrò messo il fuoco in Egitto, e saran distrutte tutte le sue milizie ausiliari.	8 And they wil know that I am Yahweh when I set fire to Egypt and al its supports are shattered.
9 In quel giorno partiranno da me su triremi dei messaggeri a turbar la sicurezza dell'Etiopia, e vi sarà in essi il terrore nel giorno dell'Egitto, che senza dubbio verrà.	9 "That day, I shal send messengers by ship to terrify the carefree Cushites, and anguish wil overtakethem on the day of Egypt -- it is coming now!
10 Così parla il Signore Dio: Io annienterò la moltitudine dell'Egitto per mezzo di Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia:	10 The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal destroy the huge population of Egypt at the hand ofNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11 egli e il suo popolo, fortissimi tra le nazioni, saran condotti a distruggere il paese, e sguaineranno le loro spade contro l'Egitto e riempiranno la terra d'uccisi.	11 He and his people, the most barbarous of nations, wil be brought to ravage the country. They wildraw the sword against Egypt and fil the country with corpses.
12 E renderò asciutti i letti dei fiumi, e abbandonerò la terra nelle mani dei pessimi, e sterminerò il paese, e tutto quello che contiene, per mano di stranieri: — io, il Signore, ho parlato.	12 I shal dry up the courses of the Nile and sel the country to the wicked. I shal lay the whole countrywaste and everything in it, at the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken.
13 Così parla il Signore Dio: Io abbatterò i simulacri, farò sparire gli idoli da Menfi, e non vi sarà più un principe nativo d'Egitto e sulla terra d'Egitto manderò il terrore.	13 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall destroy the foul idols and take the false gods away from Noph.Egypt wil be left without a ruler. I shall spread fear through Egypt.
14 E rovinerò la terra di Fatures, e darò alle fiamme Tafnis, e farò giustizia in Alessandria,	14 I shal lay Pathros waste, set Zoan on fire, inflict my punishments on No.
15 ed effonderò il mio sdegno sopra Pelusio, la fortezza d'Egitto, e sterminerò la moltitudine d'Alessandria,	15 I shal vent my fury on Sin, the bastion of Egypt; I shall wipe out the throngs of No.
16 e darò fuoco all'Egitto: Pelusio sarà in dolori come una partoriente, Alessandria sarà distrutta, e Menti sarà in quotidiani affanni.	16 I shal set fire to Egypt; Sin will be seized with convulsions; a breach wil be opened at No and thewaters flood out.
17 La gioventù di Eliopoli e di Rubasti cadrà sotto la spada, ed esse stesse saran menate schiave.	17 The young men of On and Pi-Beseth wil fal by the sword and the cities themselves go into captivity.
18 A Tafnis il giorno si oscurerà, quando ivi io spezzerò gli scettri d'Egitto, e finirà la superbia della sua potenza, essa sarà coperta dalla caligine, e le sue figlie saran menate schiave.	18 At Tahpanhes day will turn to darkness when I shatter the sceptres of Egypt there, when the pride ofher strength ceases. A cloud will cover Egypt itself, and its daughters will go into captivity.
19 Ed io farò giustizia contro l'Egitto, e sapranno che io sono il Signore ».	19 Such wil be the punishments I inflict on Egypt. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '
20 Nell'anno undecimo, il primo mese, ai sette del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:	20 In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,
21 « Figlio dell'uomo, il braccio di Faraone, re d'Egitto, io l'ho rotto, ed ecco non è stato fasciato perchè ritorni sano, non è stato fasciato con pezze, nè legato con bende, in modo che, ripreso vigore, possa maneggiare la spada.	21 'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; you can see that no one has dressedhis wound by applying remedies to it, by bandaging it and by dressing it, to make it strong enough to wield thesword.
22 Per questo, così parla il Signore Dio: Eccomi a Faraone, re d'Egitto, e farò in pezzi il suo braccio forte, ma rotto, e gli farò cadere di mano la spada.	22 This being so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt; I shal breakhis arms, the sound one and the broken one, and make the sword drop from his hand.
23 E disperderò l'Egitto fra le nazioni e lo disseminerò ai venti per le terre,	23 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries.
24 renderò forti le braccia del re di Babilonia, e metterò la mia spada nella sua mano, e spezzerò le braccia di Faraone, e davanti a lui gemeranno con gemiti di uccisi.	24 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand. I shal breakPharaoh's arms and, confronted with his enemy, he wil groan like a dying man.
25 E darò vigore alle braccia del re di Babilonia, le braccia di Faraone cadranno; e sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando avrò posto la mia spada in mano al re di Babilonia, che la stenderà sopra la terra d'Egitto,	25 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh wil fall. And they wilknow that I am Yahweh, when I put my sword into the hands of the king of Babylon and he wields it againstEgypt.
26 e disperderò l'Egitto fra le nazioni, e li getterò al vento per le terre; e sapranno che io sono il Signore ».	26 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries; and they wil know that Iam Yahweh." '
