Deuteronomio 23

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Nessuno sposerà una moglie del padre, né solleverà il lembo del mantello paterno.	1 'A man must not take his father's wife; he must not withdraw the skirt of his father's cloak from her.
2 Non entrerà nella comunità del Signore chi ha i testicoli schiacciati o il membro mutilato.	2 'A man whose testicles have been crushed or whose male member has been cut off must not beadmitted to the assembly of Yahweh.
3 Il bastardo non entrerà nella comunità del Signore; nessuno dei suoi, neppure alla decima generazione, entrerà nella comunità del Signore.	3 No half-breed may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh; not even his descendants to the tenthgeneration may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh.
4 L’Ammonita e il Moabita non entreranno nella comunità del Signore; nessuno dei loro discendenti, neppure alla decima generazione, entrerà nella comunità del Signore.	4 No Ammonite or Moabite may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh; not even his descendants tothe tenth generation may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh, and this is for all time;
5 Non vi entreranno mai, perché non vi vennero incontro con il pane e con l’acqua nel vostro cammino, quando uscivate dall’Egitto, e perché, contro di te, hanno pagato Balaam, figlio di Beor, da Petor in Aram Naharàim, perché ti maledicesse.	5 since they did not come to meet you with food and drink when you were on your way out of Egypt, andeven hired Balaam son of Beor to oppose you by cursing you, from Pethor in Aram Naharaim.
6 Ma il Signore, tuo Dio, non volle ascoltare Balaam, e il Signore, tuo Dio, mutò per te la maledizione in benedizione, perché il Signore, tuo Dio, ti ama.	6 But Yahweh your God refused to listen to Balaam, and Yahweh your God turned the curse on you intoa blessing, because Yahweh your God loved you.
7 Non cercherai né la loro pace né la loro prosperità; mai, finché vivrai.	7 Never, as long as you live, must you seek their welfare or their prosperity.
8 Non avrai in abominio l’Edomita, perché è tuo fratello. Non avrai in abominio l’Egiziano, perché sei stato forestiero nella sua terra.	8 'You must not regard the Edomite as detestable, for he is your brother; you must not regard theEgyptian as detestable, since you were once a foreigner in his country.
9 I figli che nasceranno da loro alla terza generazione potranno entrare nella comunità del Signore.	9 The third generation of children born to these may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh.
10 Quando uscirai e ti accamperai contro i tuoi nemici, guàrdati da ogni cosa cattiva.	10 'When you are in camp, at war with your enemies, you must avoid anything bad.
11 Se si trova qualcuno in mezzo a te che non sia puro a causa di una polluzione notturna, uscirà dall’accampamento e non vi entrerà.	11 If any one of you is unclean by reason of a nocturnal emission, he must leave and not come backinto camp,
12 Verso sera si laverà con acqua e dopo il tramonto del sole potrà rientrare nell’accampamento.	12 but towards evening wash himself, and return to camp at sunset.
13 Avrai anche un posto fuori dell’accampamento e là andrai per i tuoi bisogni.	13 'You must have a latrine outside the camp, and go out to this;
14 Nel tuo equipaggiamento avrai un piolo, con il quale, quando ti accovaccerai fuori, scaverai una buca e poi ricoprirai i tuoi escrementi.	14 you must have a trowel in your equipment and, when you squat outside, you must scrape a hole withit, then turn round and cover up your excrement.
15 Poiché il Signore, tuo Dio, passa in mezzo al tuo accampamento per salvarti e per mettere i nemici in tuo potere, l’accampamento deve essere santo. Egli non deve vedere in mezzo a te qualche indecenza, altrimenti ti abbandonerebbe.	15 For Yahweh your God goes about the inside of your camp to guard you and put your enemies at yourmercy. Your camp must therefore be a holy place; Yahweh must not see anything indecent there or he willdesert you.
16 Non consegnerai al suo padrone uno schiavo che, dopo essergli fuggito, si sarà rifugiato presso di te.	16 'You must not allow a master to imprison a slave who has escaped from him and come to you.
17 Rimarrà da te, in mezzo ai tuoi, nel luogo che avrà scelto, in quella città che gli parrà meglio. Non lo opprimerai.	17 Let him make his home with you and yours, wherever he pleases in whichever of your towns heprefers; you must not molest him.
18 Non vi sarà alcuna donna dedita alla prostituzione sacra tra le figlie d’Israele, né vi sarà alcun uomo dedito alla prostituzione sacra tra i figli d’Israele.	18 'There must be no sacred prostitute among the women of Israel, and no sacred prostitute among themen of Israel.
19 Non porterai nel tempio del Signore, tuo Dio, il dono di una prostituta né il salario di un cane, qualunque voto tu abbia fatto, poiché tutti e due sono abominio per il Signore, tuo Dio.	19 You must not bring the wages of a prostitute or the earnings of a 'dog' to the house of Yahweh yourGod, whatever vow you may have made: both are detestable to Yahweh your God.
20 Non farai al tuo fratello prestiti a interesse, né di denaro né di viveri né di qualunque cosa che si presta a interesse.	20 'You must not lend on interest to your brother, whether the loan be of money, of food, or of anythingelse that may earn interest.
21 Allo straniero potrai prestare a interesse, ma non al tuo fratello, perché il Signore, tuo Dio, ti benedica in tutto ciò a cui metterai mano, nella terra in cui stai per entrare per prenderne possesso.	21 You may demand interest on a loan to a foreigner, but you must not demand interest from yourbrother; so that Yahweh your God may bless you in al your labours, in the country which you are about to enterand make your own.
22 Quando avrai fatto un voto al Signore, tuo Dio, non tarderai a soddisfarlo, perché il Signore, tuo Dio, te ne domanderebbe certo conto e in te vi sarebbe un peccato.	22 'If you make a vow to Yahweh your God, you must not be slack about fulfil ing it: Yahweh your Godwil certainly hold you answerable for it and you wil incur guilt.
23 Ma, se ti astieni dal far voti, non vi sarà in te peccato.	23 If, however, you make no vow, you do not incur guilt.
24 Manterrai la parola uscita dalle tue labbra ed eseguirai il voto che avrai fatto spontaneamente al Signore, tuo Dio, come la tua bocca avrà promesso.	24 Whatever passes your lips you must keep to, and the vow that you have made to Yahweh, yourgenerous God, you must fulfil.
25 Se entri nella vigna del tuo prossimo, potrai mangiare uva secondo il tuo appetito, a sazietà, ma non potrai metterne in alcun tuo recipiente.	25 'If you go into your neighbour's vineyard, you may eat as many grapes as you please, but you mustnot put any in your basket.
26 Se passi tra la messe del tuo prossimo, potrai coglierne spighe con la mano, ma non potrai mettere la falce nella messe del tuo prossimo.	26 If you go into your neighbour's standing corn, you may pick ears by hand, but you must not put asickle into your neighbour's corn.'
