1 Tutti gli Israeliti furono registrati per genealogie e iscritti nel libro dei re d’Israele e di Giuda; per le loro colpe furono deportati a Babilonia.	1 Thus, al Israel's official genealogies had been entered in the records of the kings of Israel and Judahbefore they were deported to Babylon for their infidelity.
2 I primi abitanti che si erano ristabiliti nelle loro proprietà, nelle loro città, erano Israeliti, sacerdoti, leviti e oblati.	2 Now the first citizens to return to their property in their cities were the Israelites, the priests, the Levitesand the temple slaves.
3 A Gerusalemme abitavano figli di Giuda, di Beniamino, di Èfraim e di Manasse.	3 In Jerusalem, there settled Judaeans, Benjaminites, Ephraimites and Manassehites.

25 I loro fratelli, che abitavano nei loro villaggi, di tanto in tanto dovevano andare con loro per sette giorni.	25 and their brothers in their vil ages were required to assist them from time to time for a week,
26 Poiché erano sempre in funzione, quei quattro portieri maggiori, che erano leviti, controllavano le stanze e i tesori del tempio di Dio.	26 since the four head gatekeepers were permanently on duty. They were Levites and were in charge ofthe accommodation and supplies of the Temple of God.
27 Alloggiavano nelle adiacenze del tempio di Dio, perché a loro incombeva la sua custodia e la sua apertura ogni mattina.	27 They spent the night in the precincts of the Temple of God, their duties being to guard it and open itevery morning.

31 Il levita Mattitia, primogenito di Sallum il Corita, per la sua fedeltà era incaricato di ciò che si preparava nei tegami.	31 One of the Levites, Mattithiah -- he was the first-born of Shal um the Korahite -- had regular charge ofbaking operations.

38 Miklòt generò Simeàm. Anche costoro, come già i loro fratelli, abitavano a Gerusalemme assieme a loro.	38 Mikloth fathered Shimeam. But they, unlike their brothers, lived at Jerusalem with their brothers.
39 Ner generò Kis; Kis generò Saul; Saul generò Giònata, Malchisùa, Abinadàb e Is-Baal.	39 Ner fathered Kish, Kish fathered Saul, Saul fathered Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab and Eshbaal.
40 Figlio di Giònata fu Merib-Baal; Merib-Baal generò Mica.	40 Son of Jonathan: Meribbaal. Meribbaal fathered Micah.
41 Figli di Mica: Piton, Melec e Tacrea.	41 Sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea.
