| 1 Mosè pascolava il gregge di Jetro suo suocero, sacerdote di Madian. Mosè guardò: il cespuglio era incandescente per il fuoco, ma non si consumava. | 2 There an angel of the LORD appeared to him in fire flaming out of a bush. As he looked on, he was surprised to see that the bush, though on fire, was not consumed. |

| 4 Jahve vide che si avvicinava per contemplare e dal folto del cespuglio Dio lo chiamò: « Mosè, Mosè! », « Eccomi! » rispose. | 4 When the LORD saw him coming over to look at it more closely, God called out to him from the bush, "Moses! Moses!" He answered, "Here I am." |
| 5 « Non accostarti. Togliti i sandali dai piedi: il luogo, infatti, dove tu Stai è terra santa ». | 5 God said, "Come no nearer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. |

| 8 Sono disceso a liberarlo dal potere degli Egiziani e a farlo uscire da quella terra verso un paese prosperoso e vasto, verso un paese dove scorre latte e miele, verso un luogo dove abitano i Cananei, gli Hittiti, gli Amorrei, i Ferezei, gli Hivvei, i Gebusei. | 8 Therefore I have come down to rescue them from the hands of the Egyptians and lead them out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey, the country of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. |

| 12 Dio rispose: «Io sarò con te, ed eccoti il segno da cui conoscerai che io ti ho mandato: quando avrai fatto uscire il popolo dall’Egitto, renderete a Dio un. culto su questo monte ». | 12 He answered, "I will be with you; and this shall be your proof that it is I who have sent you: when you bring my people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this very mountain." |

Permit us, then, to go a three days' journey in the desert, that we may offer sacrifice to the LORD, our God. |
